Tuesday Teaserween! Boo!

Boooo!   Have you commented yet??????

Greetings and Happy Almost Halloween students!

It’s as close to Halloween as a Teaser can get without being on “THE DAY” so we’re celebrating a few days early.   Our Security Patrol has finished their rounds and has reported that all is secure so we should just have a GOOD TIME today!

Thank you Clowie and Trainee Crew!

Before we start with the Teaser photo, etc., I thought we’d show you some costumes of students in today’s classroom – THEN some “flashback” photos of students in previous Halloween Teaser classes – everyone looks so totally cool.

Here are students Raz, Allie, and Noelle in their new costumes for this year’s Halloween celebration:

Now let’s have a peek at past student costumes from previous Halloween classes!

Just a few – we have tons – from way way back when Angel Sammy wasn’t an Angel!    Anyway, let’s get started with today’s Teaser activity shall we??????    It’s a SPECIAL TEASER photo today from a GUEST TEASER.    Let’s review the rules shall we????

And we have some special Halloween 2019 badges for you to try and win too!

So we’ll be awarding these little doozies to those who deserve them tomorrow……………………..now, for the MAIN EVENT…………………….today’s GUEST TEASER PHOTO!    Our Security Guard will bring in the photo for us:

Here’s the Teaser Photo for today Professors!   Sorry if I scared you and the class…….

Remember – no cheating!   If you do, the BOOGEYMAN will be after you since it’s Halloweeeeeeen!     Looks like a couple of witches including a horsewitch (very rare!) to me but we’ll find out tomorrow WHERE and WHAT and WHO.   Can you figure out where this photo was taken?????????

Now for a word from our Cheer Team……………………….no doubt they are all kitted out in Halloween gear………………………..come on in ladies!

Here we are in our Halloween gear
Nice to see so many Halloweeeeenie faces here!
Today’s Teaser might be just a bit tough
But we girls know that you like it rough (haha)
Be careful when you go out trick or treating
When the door opens up a WITCH you might be greeting!
Tune in tomorrow to see who wins
If you skip class you know you’ll pay for your sins!!!!

Yes tomorrow we’ll have our TELL ALL class and some of you will get badges for this Halloween.   Now if you’re hungry I think we should stop off at the cafeteria before you all go back to class and study to make your Teaser guesses.   Ready???

Happy Almost Halloween Class……Ready for some TREATS??

Tomorrow’s Menu will be JUST AS SCARY…See you then!

Good Luck Students.  See you at regular time tomorrow!

Your Professors

Teaser Tell All

Hello Class – the graphic is a bit of a flashback but we thought it might be fun to have a different START to our Tell All Class!     After all, we had a bit of a different TEASER yesterday didn’t we?!

Yes it WAS different and I’m not sure I liked that!

So sorry but if your sensibilities were insulted by a little extra FUN on a Teaser Tuesday then TOUGH because we Professors believe in SHAKING THINGS UP once in a while!

Ready to hear the scoop?    We’ll start by letting you know WHO was our FIRST COMMENTER – and YES we only had ONE First Commenter yesterday instead of a couple.    Our “Firstie” was what we refer to as a Frequent Flyer when it comes to being FIRST……..someone who obviously keeps an eye on their computer on Tuesdays and the minute we go live – HE’S THERE!

DRUMROLL PLEASE

Timmy!!!

Yet again Timmy was the first to shout out his presence in class at Ding Dong School yesterday so he gets this badge ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL to himself:

I was the ONLY First Commenter on the Teaser of October 22, 2019!

HIP HIP HOORAY FOR TIMMY!

Then it was WAIT AND SEE…………..because we did have a different type of Teaser and it involved multiple photos and multiple possibilities so it took a while for people to research and figure out what their guesses were going to be!     The GRAPHICS Department put the Teaser together and we thought it would fool EVERYONE but no it did NOT.    Here are the photos and possible cities again that needed to be “matched up”:

TEASER PHOTO #4

TEASER PHOTO #3

TEASER PHOTO #2

TEASER PHOTO #1

TEASER PHOTO #5

The CORRECT answers for each photo were:

PHOTO 1 – Hong Kong

PHOTO 2 – Singapore

PHOTO 3 – Toronto

PHOTO -4  Chicago

PHOTO 5 – Sao Paolo

Those who figured out that you could use Google and ask for “aerial photos of big cities” – might have been able to weed through tons of photos looking for these and found them – EVENTUALLY, but the person who was FIRST RIGHT was pretty QUICK to be right………..and it was our frequent winner and heavy traveler who got the order right FIRST:

Timmy!  (yes again….!)

GOOOOOOO TIMMY!!!!

AMAZING – and here’s your reward Timmy

I was the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser of October 22, 2019!! WOOT!!!

….but….

Because you were a DOUBLE WINNER yesterday, you also get this award:

Timmy Tomcat was a FIRST COMMENTER and the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser of October 22, 2019! WOWZERS!

There were a FEW MORE of you wonderful students who got ALL of the cities right……………….and if you were one of them, please take a copy of this award because we are PROUD of you for figuring them out!    By the way, even if you didn’t get ALL of them right but maybe a couple of them right?   You did SUPER DUPER WELL!

I wasn’t FIRST but I was RIGHT with my guess on the Teaser of October 22, 2019!! YAY FOR ME!

And if you were WRONG with your guesses but you still TRIED – well you definitely deserve a GREENIE!

So I tried but just didn’t get all the answers right on the Teaser of October 22, 2019 – I got a GREENIE badge though!

Everybody give yourselves a cheer…………………………our Cheer Team will do that too but you should pat each other on the back for a job well done – it wasn’t easy around here yesterday with a change of Teaser TYPES.    Next week we have our Halloween Teaser class.    BOOOOOOOOOO!

WOW….is it just me or has our class become VERY large lately?????

NOT FUNNY – WE ARE NOT AMUSED!

Well sorry about that!!!!    Cheer Team?   Come save us from this angry crowd please!!

Watch out for the angry crowd
They’re not too happy and they’re very loud!
We think it’s fun to add more fun
Makes it cool for everyone!
Yesterday was an EPIC day
Timmy was a winner in every way!
FIRST COMMENTER and FIRST RIGHT both badges he won
Left everyone else in the dust but we still all had fun!
Next week is Halloween and we’ll be spooky and scary
But we’ll shave our legs before class so we won’t be hairy!

Gosh girls – no need to do the leg hair thing – we’re used to – and love – your furry legs!     But we hope we will see you in costumes – that will be fun.    I’ve heard Miss Dingleberry is planning a special spooky menu too.    Some people say every day she has SPOOKY menus but we think – and more importantly the School Board thinks – that she does a great job feeding us good lunches around here.   So let’s head over now and EAT shall we?

Thank you….thank you very much!  I’m starving!

Happy Wednesday Teaser Class……I know it was a “trying” class today because you had a different kind of Teaser but perhaps we can restore your energy level with a good lunch!

TODAY’S SELECTIONS ARE:

See you next week in class – it will be our Halloween Teaser – if you would like us to put you in class in a Halloween costume just email us your photo and you’ll be in the Teaser post all dressed up (photo shop or real costume)!!!    We will have a spooky good time……………………

Your Professors!   BOOOOO!

Bakin’ for Halloween !

Greetings from the Castle Kitchen – it’s your King – Teddy – bringing you some Halloween fun!

I thought since the Halloween celebration is getting closer that I’d concentrate the next few weeks on some fun Halloween-ish type baked goodies……….things that would be yummy to have around for snacks or part of a meal you might be preparing!    This bread I’m making today is DY-NO-MITE for breakfast or any time.   My Mom is a big fan of pumpkin “anything” and if you are too, you will enjoy this one.    No it doesn’t have bacon in it – for the next few weeks the Castle Baconia Kitchen will not NECESSARILY be bringing you bacon-oriented things!!

Check this out:

Crumbly Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients for the bread:

Cooking spray

2 c. all-purpose flour

1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp.baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. pumpkin purée
1/3 c. sour cream
2 large eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
For the topping:
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
Directions
1.   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line an 8″x4″ loaf pan with parchment paper then grease with cooking spray or softened butter.  In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking power and salt.
2.  In a separate large bowl using a hand mixer, beat melted butter, sugar, pumpkin puree, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.  Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
3.  Make topping:  In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients until large clumps form.
4.  Transfer batter to prepared pan then scatter topping on top.  Bake until toothpick inserted in center of the loaf comes out clean (about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes).
My Mom thinks this is totally heavenly stuff but she’s a pumpkin lover – if you are too, try this one.   The topping obviously is an optional thing but it makes a big difference (so says Mom!!!!).

I believe Mr. Pooh is right on this one!!!!

Thumbs up………………..give it a try and I’ll see you next week with another winner……

Welcome to TEASERWEEN Teaser Class

Hello Students…..it’s Teaserween Tuesday!

Do have a seat….don’t let the pumpkins freak you out!

The Professors are coming…..you all better SETTLE DOWN OR ELSE!!!!

Yes Sir, Sergeant Sarge SIR !!!!

A SPOOKY Good morning class!

OOPS – I think one of the students fainted!!!!

Now – before we do anything else today – remember to COMMENT ON TODAY’S POST – if you’re first to leave a comment – ANY comment – you get a special TEASERWEEN FIRST COMMENTER BADGE!    Go on – hurry up – we’ll wait for you…………for a few minutes anyway!!!!

If more than one of you is FIRST (comment in the first 60 seconds) then there will be multiple badges awarded!

Now moving on, today is a FUN day but it’s also a SERIOUS day because we still have a TEASER photo for you to examine and agonize over.  It’s a GUEST TEASER and tomorrow when we tell you who wins what, we’ll tell you who sent our photos in – we have TWO photos taken in the same location for you today.    Remember the rules:

  1. In order to guess RIGHT, you must include in your guess the town/city/village and the State (if in USA) or Country (if not in USA) that the photos were taken in – OK?
  2. We ask that you NOT use any help to do your guessing – no Google Image Search because that’s just too darn EASY to do – we’d rather you use your imagination and your eyes and figure out where the photo might have been taken………………EVERYONE has an equal chance to win that way!

Now, let’s bring our Security Guard in with the photos shall we?????

ARRGH! Here’s ye photos for our Teaser Captain Sam!

Alright Students – give it your best shot…………………..where were these photos taken?    To give you a little extra PUSH – we’ll have our Fabulous Teaserween Cheerleader, Suzie come in and give you a little inspiring cheer!

My costume is weird that may be true
What I’m supposed to be I have no clue!
But whatever I am one thing is sure
I’m lookin’ sick and there’s no cure!
Seriously now, let’s get to work
Study the photos – don’t be a jerk!
It’s TEASERWEEN and we’re having fun
If you get too scared turn ’round and run!
We’ve got spooky snacks and badges for you
Now figure it out and look for clues.
Have fun tonight trick or treating
But for TEASER today THERE WILL BE NO CHEATING!!!!

OK Suzie!   Thanks for your cheer today and we were wondering what you were dressed up as and it would appear you are wondering too!    HAHAHA

Now settle back in your desks

and we’ll show you our fabulous

Yeah well you MADE me dress up – I wore my special GLAM  hairnet for the occasion!

We hope you have fun TRICK OR TREATING tonight

and we’ll see you tomorrow for the TEASERWEEN TELL ALL to see who wins WHAT!

Your SPOOKY Professors, Angel Sam and Teddy

Pre-Teaserween Monday

Hello Students!  Ready for class?

Yes – we are all present and accounted for Sarge!

Good because the Professors are here!

Good Morning – just a little reminder

that tomorrow is TEASERWEEN……

the day we all get to dress up in our costumes

and have spooky snacks AND get a photo to figure out too!

The Teaser photo tomorrow will be a GUEST TEASER………………….and we will also have a very special slideshow of you students who wanted to be in the official DING DONG SCHOOL TEASERWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA.

Now let me go over the ground rules for pawticipating in our Teaser and what it takes to WIN WIN WIN a badge!

First of all there will be SPECIAL BADGES tomorrow in honor of Halloween.    Be on the ball and you just might get one to display on your blog, or your Facebook page, or Pinterest or your bathroom wall or in your closet or WHEREVER you wish to display it.

If you are the VERY FIRST to comment on tomorrow’s Teaserween post, you will get this badge – remember all you have to do is comment to get the FIRST COMMENTER badge!

So hurry and get here when you get the magic DING on your computer saying you have incoming mail – you wanna be here first tomorrow right?  Right!

The RULES:

  1. In order to be right with your guess you will have to tell us what CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE the photo was taken in as well as what COUNTRY (if not USA) or STATE (if USA) the photo was taken in…………the whole ball of wax gang – we want to know it all!
  2. We ask that you NOT use any kind of GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH program – or anything LIKE that – to pop in the photo and have your computer tell you where the photo was taken – use your brain – use your eyes – look for clues and see if you can guess it without HELP from your computer!!    That means everyone has the same chance………..YAY!

Assistant Prof Teddy – do you have anything to tell the students?

We are excited about tomorrow’s class!   All of us will be in costume (yes, even Suzie and Sarge) and we will be having special SPOOKY snacks from our Ding Dong School Cafeteria before recess!!

Speaking of Suzie – would you like to give our students a little encouragement about class tomorrow Suzie???

Tomorrow is Teaserween!
My costume will be seen!
You’d better be in class
Or I might have to kick your…….toe.
Special badges we have made
We’ll have spooky lemonade!
I can promise you some fun
Don’t be a hot cross bun!

Thanks Suzie…………………….I think……………………anyway, we hope to see you tomorrow – remember our TEASERWEEN post will pop up at a time unlike our USUAL post time of 3AM EST.   It will be different and you’d better be on your toes (or at least AWAKE!).

I wasn’t gonna show you the Teaserween badges but Professor Angel Sammy and I thought you might need a little extra incentive to show up for class tomorrow – here is what you might win if you’re lucky!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Cool?  Oh yeah!    So we’ll see you tomorrow in class…………………………BE PURRRPARED FOR A SPOOKY GOOD TIME!

I Can’t WAIT !!!!!!!!

See you in the AM!

Angel Prof Sam and Assistant Prof Teddy

Bakin’ with Bacon in Baconia

I May Be King, But I’m Also Head Baker!

Seems our fabulous Chef here in Baconia is not fond of baking – he loves all his other specialties (and so do we!) but baking is not his fave SOOOOOOO, I told him that I would happily take over baking chores even though I am the KING!

First I thought I’d make a Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie – just the name sounds like something we should all try at least once right?   Bacon and chocolate are a good combo!

Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie

  • 3 cups pretzel twists (you can use whatever pretzels you have, I used twists)
  • 2/3 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 stick of butter, divided
  • 1 package Fudge Stripes Dark Chocolate Cookies from Keebler (11.5 oz)
  • 12 oz package of bacon, cooked and diced (1/4 cup reserved)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 TBSP vinegar
  • 1 TBSP flour
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  1. Preheat your oven to 350.
  2. Crush your pretzels and in a large bowl combine them and 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/3 cup sugar.  Mix to combine.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture into a pie plate and bake for five minutes.
  4. In the same large bowl (no need to clean it out) crush your chocolate cookies.  Now add the remainder of the butter (melted), the bacon (remember to save 1/4 a cup), eggs, the remainder of the sugar, vinegar, and flour and mix well.
  5. Gently pour the mixture into your pie crust.
  6. Top with the remaining bacon and the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over it and bake for 35 minutes or until the edges of the pie begin to turn golden brown.

Alright – so that’s kind of a complicated recipe but doesn’t it sound NOMMY?????

Every Saturday I will share a recipe with you Baconians………………how’s that for a SHARING and CARING King?

Thanks boss…..that’s a load off my mind!

I think we deserve a few laughs now don’t you?    Some of our favorite giggles!!

And since Tuesday is Halloween (even here in Baconia!)

I thought you’d like to see my Halloween outfit!

Think this will scare all the little ghosties

who stop by my throne room for TRICK or TREAT???

Have a snack before you go????

A little BRAIN food perhaps?

YUM….FINGER sandwiches!

Spidery DEVILED eggs?

Don’t put your hands in the punch…oops….looks like somebody already did!

Happy Bacon-Ween everyone!

Where’s the door to the throne room???

Bites and Hugs, King Teddy

It’s A Two-Fer Friday!!!!

We’re Filling In and Shopping Today!

First – let’s do some sentence filling in with McGuffy’s Reader

This is a super duper blog hop hosted by Ellen of 15andMeowing AND Annie of McGuffy’s Reader.   The FUN part is when everyone fills in the blanks and shares their responses – why is that fun?  Because we learn all kinds of interesting stuff about each other – that’s why!    When you’ve filled in your sentences, just pop over to McGuffy’s at the link on the badge above and fill in the LINKY tool to join in the fun.

This week I thought we’d share – I will do the FIRST two (BLUE), and my Mom will do the LAST two (RED).     Here are this week’s gems from Ellen and Annie:

1. I  would like to interview Santa Claus – just wondering if he has any pets at home and if he likes his work!.
2. I would like to be interviewed by someone who is interested in writing about the joys of being adopted from a shelter – does everyone know how great it is to find a happy home?.
3. Halloween night I will be in my traditional Halloween sweatshirt answering the doorbell with a big basket of trick or treat goodies to hand out while my husband sleeps in the recliner (his version of being HELPFUL!).

4. Once Halloween is over, we usually EAT all the leftover treats – not all at once of course – but over time – that’s why when I shop for Halloween treats I get stuff WE like!.

OK Mom – we did it!    We filled in together!    I hope you all will fill in the sentences and join in the Hop – it really is fun.   Thanks Miss Annie and Miss Ellen for hosting this fun Friday Hop!

Now for part two of this “two-fer” Friday post.   It’s the SHOPPING AROUND THE WORLD day hosted by Bacon of PIGLOVE, but this month is being co-hosted by Da Phenny!   The badge above will magically transport you to Bacon’s blog and if you play along, remember to link to his blog.

If you decide to join in on this Hop, you just need to blog about this month’s project which is “ANYTHING USING PUMPKINS OR OTHER SQUASH”.     Since it’s Halloween time, we’re making a pumpkin recipe.   SURPRISE SURPRISE!    You need to tell the recipe for your project, listing all the ingredients and most importantly the PRICE you paid for the ingredients – see, the fun part is seeing what everybody pays for food items in their local grocery stores all around the world.    Neato huh?

Here’s what Mom made – it was very yummy (so she says because I wasn’t interested in trying it out – I let her and Dad eat it for breakfast!)!

EASY PUMPKIN APPLE ROLL-UP

Ingredients

    • 1 can Pillsbury™ refrigerated classic pizza crust  (Cost: $3.29)
    • 3oz cream cheese, softened (Cost:  8 oz. $2.39 – I divided it in half)
    • 3/4 cup canned pumpkin pie filling (Cost:  $2.49 for 15 oz. – I saved what I didn’t use to put in my biscotti!)
    • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar  (I had this on hand)
    • 1 cup canned apple pie filling  (Cost: $1.69 for 15 oz. – I saved what I didn’t use to add to my fresh apples to make a pie)
    • 3/4cup powdered sugar (you need this only if you want to make a little “drizzle” topping on it!)

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • 2. Unroll 1 can Pillsbury™ refrigerated classic pizza crust on cookie sheet; press dough into 14×9-inch rectangle. Bake 8 minutes; set aside.
  • 3. In medium bowl, beat 3 oz softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add 3/4 cup canned pumpkin, 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar and; continue mixing until combined.
  • 4. Spread 1 cup canned apple pie filling along one short edge of crust in straight line. Spread pumpkin-cream cheese mixture evenly over remaining part of crust.
  • 5. Working from the edge with the apple pie filling, carefully roll up crust, being cautious not to squeeze too much, so filling does not come out the sides. Place roll-up in ungreased 9×5-inch loaf pan, seam side down. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until outside is light golden brown. Cool in pan 1 hour.
  • 6. In small bowl, mix 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons water until smooth, adding more water for thinner consistency if desired. Drizzle over roll-up. Slice and serve!

I didn’t EAT any of this but it sure smelled good!!!!!

That’s it for our “two-fer” post this Friday.

My kitty cat “pumpkin-to-be” resting comfortably on Dad’s work bench waiting for the BIG MOMENT when Dad works his magic!

This is what it will probably look like after Dad does his thing…..Angel Sammy always had his own Halloween kitty pumpkin and I’m going to carry on the tradition this year for MY first Halloween………..

Hugs, Teddy
