Greetings and Happy Almost Halloween students!

It’s as close to Halloween as a Teaser can get without being on “THE DAY” so we’re celebrating a few days early.   Our Security Patrol has finished their rounds and has reported that all is secure so we should just have a GOOD TIME today!

Before we start with the Teaser photo, etc., I thought we’d show you some costumes of students in today’s classroom – THEN some “flashback” photos of students in previous Halloween Teaser classes – everyone looks so totally cool.

Teaser Tell All

Hello Class – the graphic is a bit of a flashback but we thought it might be fun to have a different START to our Tell All Class!     After all, we had a bit of a different TEASER yesterday didn’t we?!

Yes it WAS different and I’m not sure I liked that!

So sorry but if your sensibilities were insulted by a little extra FUN on a Teaser Tuesday then TOUGH because we Professors believe in SHAKING THINGS UP once in a while!

Ready to hear the scoop?    We’ll start by letting you know WHO was our FIRST COMMENTER – and YES we only had ONE First Commenter yesterday instead of a couple.    Our “Firstie” was what we refer to as a Frequent Flyer when it comes to being FIRST……..someone who obviously keeps an eye on their computer on Tuesdays and the minute we go live – HE’S THERE!

Yet again Timmy was the first to shout out his presence in class at Ding Dong School yesterday so he gets this badge ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL to himself:

Then it was WAIT AND SEE…………..because we did have a different type of Teaser and it involved multiple photos and multiple possibilities so it took a while for people to research and figure out what their guesses were going to be!     The GRAPHICS Department put the Teaser together and we thought it would fool EVERYONE but no it did NOT.    Here are the photos and possible cities again that needed to be “matched up”:

The CORRECT answers for each photo were:

Those who figured out that you could use Google and ask for “aerial photos of big cities” – might have been able to weed through tons of photos looking for these and found them – EVENTUALLY, but the person who was FIRST RIGHT was pretty QUICK to be right………..and it was our frequent winner and heavy traveler who got the order right FIRST:

Timmy Tomcat was a FIRST COMMENTER and the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser of October 22, 2019! WOWZERS!

There were a FEW MORE of you wonderful students who got ALL of the cities right……………….and if you were one of them, please take a copy of this award because we are PROUD of you for figuring them out!    By the way, even if you didn’t get ALL of them right but maybe a couple of them right?   You did SUPER DUPER WELL!

I wasn’t FIRST but I was RIGHT with my guess on the Teaser of October 22, 2019!! YAY FOR ME!

And if you were WRONG with your guesses but you still TRIED – well you definitely deserve a GREENIE!

So I tried but just didn’t get all the answers right on the Teaser of October 22, 2019 – I got a GREENIE badge though!

Everybody give yourselves a cheer…………………………our Cheer Team will do that too but you should pat each other on the back for a job well done – it wasn’t easy around here yesterday with a change of Teaser TYPES.    Next week we have our Halloween Teaser class.    BOOOOOOOOOO!

Gosh girls – no need to do the leg hair thing – we’re used to – and love – your furry legs!     But we hope we will see you in costumes – that will be fun.    I’ve heard Miss Dingleberry is planning a special spooky menu too.    Some people say every day she has SPOOKY menus but we think – and more importantly the School Board thinks – that she does a great job feeding us good lunches around here.   So let’s head over now and EAT shall we?

Bakin’ for Halloween !

Greetings from the Castle Kitchen – it’s your King – Teddy – bringing you some Halloween fun!

 

I thought since the Halloween celebration is getting closer that I’d concentrate the next few weeks on some fun Halloween-ish type baked goodies……….things that would be yummy to have around for snacks or part of a meal you might be preparing!    This bread I’m making today is DY-NO-MITE for breakfast or any time.   My Mom is a big fan of pumpkin “anything” and if you are too, you will enjoy this one.    No it doesn’t have bacon in it – for the next few weeks the Castle Baconia Kitchen will not NECESSARILY be bringing you bacon-oriented things!!

Check this out:

Crumbly Pumpkin Bread

 

Ingredients for the bread:

Cooking spray

2 c. all-purpose flour

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp.baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted

1 1/4 c. granulated sugar

1 c. pumpkin purée

1/3 c. sour cream

2 large eggs

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

For the topping:

1 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 c. butter, softened

1/2 c. lightly packed brown sugar

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. kosher salt

Directions

1.   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line an 8″x4″ loaf pan with parchment paper then grease with cooking spray or softened butter.  In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking power and salt.

2.  In a separate large bowl using a hand mixer, beat melted butter, sugar, pumpkin puree, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.  Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.

3.  Make topping:  In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients until large clumps form.

4.  Transfer batter to prepared pan then scatter topping on top.  Bake until toothpick inserted in center of the loaf comes out clean (about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes).

My Mom thinks this is totally heavenly stuff but she’s a pumpkin lover – if you are too, try this one.   The topping obviously is an optional thing but it makes a big difference (so says Mom!!!!).

I believe Mr. Pooh is right on this one!!!!

1. In order to guess RIGHT, you must include in your guess the town/city/village and the State (if in USA) or Country (if not in USA) that the photos were taken in – OK?
2. We ask that you NOT use any help to do your guessing – no Google Image Search because that’s just too darn EASY to do – we’d rather you use your imagination and your eyes and figure out where the photo might have been taken………………EVERYONE has an equal chance to win that way!

Hello Students!  Ready for class?

Good Morning – just a little reminder

that tomorrow is TEASERWEEN……

the day we all get to dress up in our costumes

and have spooky snacks AND get a photo to figure out too!

The Teaser photo tomorrow will be a GUEST TEASER………………….and we will also have a very special slideshow of you students who wanted to be in the official DING DONG SCHOOL TEASERWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA.

Now let me go over the ground rules for pawticipating in our Teaser and what it takes to WIN WIN WIN a badge!

First of all there will be SPECIAL BADGES tomorrow in honor of Halloween.    Be on the ball and you just might get one to display on your blog, or your Facebook page, or Pinterest or your bathroom wall or in your closet or WHEREVER you wish to display it.   

If you are the VERY FIRST to comment on tomorrow’s Teaserween post, you will get this badge – remember all you have to do is comment to get the FIRST COMMENTER badge!

So hurry and get here when you get the magic DING on your computer saying you have incoming mail – you wanna be here first tomorrow right?  Right!

The RULES:
