Rainy Day

Standard

Hi Peeps!   Yesterday was picture perfect – start to finish it was gorgeous.  YES it was cool – only got to the low 60s for a high – BUT not a cloud in the sky and only late in the afternoon did it become breezy.  My Dad got to go flying too which made him happy.

Warrenton viewed from a cockpit

Yep – this is my town – Warrenton, Virginia, from the air!

Mom and I were home all day yesterday and I must have asked her 87 bazillion times to take me outside for some fresh air.   It was great – and the grass is finally growing so I got some “fresh greens” while I was out there.

Front Garden 2012

Yep – my old friends are back again….one NICE thing about perennials!

Things are popping up – the dicentra are blooming and even the miniature Japanese Maple is just about ready to leaf out.   You might be able to see some of the Bradford pears in the background in bloom along the driveway.   NICE!

Anyway, I’m happy and even though today it’s going to be  raining – we need the rain………………gets the lawn fertilizer activated AND waters our gardens for FREE.    Nothing wrong with FREE right?

Enjoying the yard and the nice fresh air!

Ahhh…..it’s getting NICE out here!

Yeah I guess you could say I’m a happy guy…………………and lucky……………oh and SPOILED TOO – don’t forget that one!!!!

HAPPY THURSDAY!

End-o-Week In Sight

Standard

Yeppers – Friday approacheth!  This is our last chance before the last day of the week to get something constructive done so we can say “gosh this has been a busy week”.   Well, to be truthful it kinda has been.   Mom had a little “whoopsie” with the garage door and the car (we won’t talk about that though), I did a lot of STUFF in preparation for the weekend’s activities at Cat Scouts, Mom read TWO books, Dad went flying………….see?  Busy week.

Today I help Mom do laundry.   “Help” is purrrhaps not the right word……….I do more “observing/snoopervising” than actually helping.  I mean how can a small cat drag sheets down two flights of stairs to the laundry room?   Can’t be done by THIS cat…..so I’ll watch and snoop.

Laundry....they make it look FUN.....

July is usually a very hot and steamy month here but just as most of you have reported, our weather here has been nothing short of WEIRD for weeks on end.   In the 60s one day, in the 90s the next……….driving rain or steamy humidity and sun……..but it is what it is………and we have A/C and a shady front porch and woods.  We can’t complain (well, I can complain but my parents can’t).

Today I can hear about 87 mowers mowing all around the community.   We’re getting good at recognizing who we can hear – different mowers make different sounds………”Oh, Pete’s got his zero radius out” or “Warren sure can zip that John Deere around his yard like a race car!”……………I think everyone is mowing because they know we’re supposed to have more rain coming.  That usually gets people fired up.   We’re gonna wait.   Mom mowed Sunday and it’s only Wednesday – by Friday we won’t be able to see out the windows because the grass will be that high.   Fine with me….you know I love to eat the stuff – I’m part goat.

GRASS

Hope you’re not TOO hot where you are – Europe is frying and the USA out West is just about doing the same……….maybe they should change the term to “GLOBAL FRYING” instead of “GLOBAL WARMING” ???

Have a Great Thursday no matter what!

Fryday

Standard

HA!  Gotcha with that title didn’t I?   FRYday…..get it?  Oh never mind!  It was a horrible joke……….

However it is a lead in to the fact that Mom’s treating me extra special today because we’re having bacon.   So there is a “FRY” in my Friday.

MAYPOLECats

Hope you had a great start to the merry month of May.  I sure did.  Yesterday was incredible after all that rain we had – it was EIGHTY ONE at 3PM and the sun was out and shining its’ heart out.  Did I like that?  You betcha!  Did I go outside and roll around on the front porch in the sun?  Oh definitely!   Did I munch on the greenables out there?  DONE!   It was just a nice day.

I’m working on my plans for my blogaversary and will announce “all” on Monday so stay tuned…………I know there are a lot of things going on right now – BlogPaws Conference is coming up for one and many of my buds go to that….don’t worry if you can’t make the pawty on May 10 or even if you’re just too busy getting ready to pay attention – WHATEVA!   OK?  I’m a “no pressure” kinda guy!

Sammy looking soft and sweet (asleep!)

I look rather “no pressure” here wouldn’t you say???????

Hope you have a super FRYday even if there’s nothing FRIED in your immediate future.  After all, rain or shine we’re buddies – right?
