Bacon Greenhouse Update

Happy Bacon Saturday!  

I thought I’d better give you the scoop on what’s going on in the Bacon Greenhouse over this past summer………….we had a great crop of bacon seedlings growing and we are a week away from HARVEST time.    Our usual Greenhouse Crew has been working hard maintaining, fertilizing, raking, hoeing, weeding and in general keeping the place looking fabulous as always.    Here are some photos I took so I can share them with you!!

Things have been popping right along all summer so the crop is looking good – here are some photos from shortly after the planting to a photo I snapped yesterday!

So as you see, it’s time to harvest since the bacon buds are popping open……………………so we will be having that promised BACON HARVEST PARTY – WHEN?

NEXT SATURDAY!    SEPT. 30th!

If you would like to pawticipate in the harvest and the “after party”, all you have to do is send us a photo of you in your HARVEST outfit – something suitable for working in the greenhouse – and we’ll put you to work!     You can pick out your own stuff to wear, but here are some possibilities if you need some help!

SEND YOUR PHOTOS TO MY EMAIL NOT LATER THAN THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th!  

We will enjoy some harvest fun after we finish working…………….you may remember if you were at last harvest that we WORKED HARD but we also reaped the rewards of our hard work with a wonderful feast and fun.

Angel Sammy will be here to drive the official tractor…..!!

Here in Baconia we take harvesting our precious bacon seriously!   Join us for some fun next Saturday, September 30th and make sure and send your photos to us by Thursday, September 28th…………

The Angels called and he heard their song of welcome…..

My very good and very sweet friend Sharon of Friends Furever said the long goodbye to her husband Bill yesterday.   He’d been hospitalized for two months and had been on the ventilator for a long time – the doctors did all they could but Bill’s struggle to overcome was not enough to keep him here.   He passed into the arms of the Lord yesterday afternoon after the vent was removed.

I know Sharon would appreciate your words of comfort……..and thanks to Ann Adamus we have a beautiful badge to honor the love Bill and Sharon shared for so long………you can click on it and visit Sharon’s blog if you like.   Sharon was so brave……their love will live on in her heart forever………..that’s what love is – FOREVER.

Thankful Thursday and Some Poetry Too….

First up will be our Thankful Thursday post for the Blog Hop hosted every week by our buddy Brian and YOU can pawticipate too if you just click his badge below – then use the Linky Tool to hook up for the Hop!   Thanks Brian for hosting this – seems we have a lot to be thankful for and this is a nice way to SHARE.

We are very thankful that things are beginning to be put back together again in Texas and Louisiana although there’s still a lot of people who need help……….at least it’s coming!    Now if we could just REDIRECT Hurricane Irma back out to sea to her demise, we’d be even more thankful.

Another thing I’m thankful for is that my Mom and Dad will cave into my demands (!) to go for a walk around the yard on my harness even if it’s raining like mad.    They just grab an umbrella and out we go.   I get soaked (but I don’t mind that) while Mom or Dad are under cover.   Still, I know a lot of peeps who wouldn’t take their kids out for a cruise in the rain.   I guess I’m lucky right?

I’m also thankful for all my wonderful friends………….I just love visiting everyone’s blogs every day………..keeping up with what’s going on around the blogosphere………….

Now let’s move on to my FAVORITE part of Thursday which is when I can share the Poetic Thursday poem that I receive each week from my Angel brother Sammy.    He never lets me down.   He loves writing poetry and since he’s got great wi-fi at the Rainbow Bridge, we’ve never missed a Thursday since he went to the Bridge!   Here’s what he transmitted to me last night!

Hello Friends!   It’s ME, here at the Bridge!

It’s another Thursday morning and last night as I was floating around at the Bridge on my cloud – before I curled up for the night, I wrote my poem for today.    You may remember that each week those of us who are participating in this round of going through the Alphabet and writing a poem about something starting with that week’s “letter” write a special poem and post it on our blogs.   You are free to write about ANYTHING beginning with that week’s letter but in case you can’t think of something, I give you some “possible prompt” words to get your ideas flowing!   

Last Thursday I gave you four prompt words which were:

(1) Mom (2) Mud (3) Marvelous (4) Meow

I bet most of you thought if I used one of my prompt words, it would be “MOM” because she and I were so very close………….but guess what – SURPRISE – I’m using my very OWN “M” word this week!

IS IT REALLY FRIDAY ALREADY?????

It’s a fun way to find out new stuff about each other and we look forward to it every week…………………..This week I again let Mom fill-in because usually the sentences aren’t really so easy for a guy like me to fill-in!    Mom’s words are in RED.

 

1.   Worrying is  a waste of time.    (worrying about something doesn’t change it – taking action can change something sometimes but worry never does!)

2. My favorite app is PIZAP (I don’t use a smart phone but Pizap is my “go to” application for photo editing).

3. My first car was a big old Oldsmobile that my Dad bought for me.

4. The best car I ever owned was my current car – a Buick LaCrosse, because it’s like riding on a cloud and with all the bells and whistles I just feel GOOD driving it!.

 

Thanks Mom – I wish you could get Daddy to feel like you do about worrying – he worries 24/7 and if he isn’t worrying, THAT worries him (hahahahaha).    As for your “best car” since I’m not allowed to ride in your fancy shmancy Buick I wouldn’t KNOW about it being so fabulous BUT I’ll take your word for it.  Besides, I like riding in Daddy’s Blazer because there’s lots of room in the back for me to explore stuff and look out all those windows!     I’m not all that crazy about riding in cars but I just need you guys to take me more places so I get used to stuff whizzing by the windows!!

Now I’m going to take this opportunity to remind you all that WE are hosting SHOPPING AROUND THE WORLD this month for Bacon and his Mom since they are super duper busy – so please remember it will be on THURSDAY, AUGUST 31st and we will all be sharing our favorite recipe for SNACKS!     YAY FOR SNACKS!    Mom’s got her recipe all ready – how about you?

Teaser Tell All

Let’s Tell It ALLLL!

Oh yes indeed let’s “GIVE IT UP” !!    Yesterday’s Teaser adventure was interesting wasn’t it?    Lots of good sleuthing going on out there……………people were looking at the architecture and figuring out a whole lot including where in the world that kind of structure might be located!   FUN huh?

I think we’ll start off today by letting you know that the Teaser Photo was from our friend Miss Steph and her kitty Gracie HERE.   It was a photo that a friend of theirs took on her travels around the globe and we THANK her for it!    This is for you Miss Steph:

Before we get into “who won what” let’s show you the Teaser photos AGAIN then let you know where they were taken shall we?

Oh good – if you’re happy then I’m happy.

This my friends is the sleepy town of Chisinau where the beautiful Capriana Monastery complex is located in the Country/Republic of MOLDOVA!    This particular building is the “Winter Church of Saint George” which was built in the 20th century but other structures on the property date back to the 1400s.   I must say that at some point in their past, Moldova WAS in fact part of Romania but is not currently.    It’s on its’ own and wants to stay that way (!!).    We are embarrassed to say that we didn’t know there was a MOLDOVA.    Anyway, really interesting Teaser this week right?

NOW – WHO WINS WHAT??????

Our FIRST COMMENTER yesterday was the irrepressible and ever eager (and always awake!) Da Phenny from Brittany, France and he and his Mom commented in the first sixty seconds after we went LIVE this morning.   This is for you!

Next up – FIRST RIGHT GUESSER…………….now we had a bit of an interesting situation with this – why?   Phenny and his Mom guessed the correct building and city but said Romania!    They were just so darn close but not RIGHT……………..we’re giving them a little something anyway!
