Good Morning and Happy Monday Peeps! So – it’s all over but the crying (whatever that means – Mom said it this morning when Dad asked her who won the Super Bowl). Actually, Mom and I only watched HALF of the Super Bowl. Dad watched about ten minutes of it then went upstairs to read and eventually
snore fall asleep in his den while Mom and I watched until Madonna did her thing at halftime. I found that part rather confusing – all those people flying around and flipping through the air and walking on wires and lights flashing and – well – I just wanted to watch football! After the game started back up Mom and I watched for a little while longer. When we stopped watching the Patriots were ahead. There were moments when I just couldn’t watch – it was too close to call!
I just can't look....tell me what's happening Mom....!
But in the end, Mom just was too tired to stay up and watch til the bitter end. We had to wait until this morning to find out that the NY Giants had won in the LAST MINUTES of the game. Wow.
Know what? It didn’t REALLY matter to us who won – we just wanted to watch the game (secretly I was rooting for whoever had the ball at the time anyway….tee hee).
We had a nice Sunday……..a little bit of snow early in the morning, then the sun came out and stayed all aftenroon…….then Daddy made a cheese fondue (I got to sample it!)…….and eventually the game came on. It was a FAMILY day.
Nothing wrong with that – right?
Oh – and don’t forget – tomorrow is TUESDAY TEASER and I think it’s going to be a picture from “somewhere” in the world and you’ll have to guess WHERE (so get those Atlases out and start studying!!!!).
On a Sunday afternoon SOMEONE needs to stretch out on the couch - since Dad's not interested, I guess it will have to be ME!
Ahhhh…..Sunday…….I figure I’ll need all this week to rest up for NEXT weekend – why? Well, as you know, I’m a football fan and I do believe it’s time for the SUPER BOWL. No, that’s not what we call my food dish around here – it’s the big wazoo of football games. No doubt it will be noisy around here with Mom screaming, Dad screaming at Mom for screaming, and me – well – I’ll be on a footstool watching the game – quietly following that little round thing as it flies through the air or gets kicked somewhere. It’s so exciting. All those little tiny people running every which way in all directions – it’s just so much fun to watch.
So that’s why I’m taking this opportunity to relax……I’ve been outside several times today – it’s been sunny but chilly – and OLD DAD is about to start a fire in the fireplace. So it’s a perfect late afternoon to do what we ALL know I do best…………snooze. The couch is my chosen spot just now – mainly because Mom’s in her studio working on some stuff to get ready for a BIG book fair/signing/event that she’s going to in February. I’ll do a special blog this week all about that but it means she’s going to be leaving me ALL ALONE WITH DAD for a few days. I can sum up my feeling about that in one word:
Just kidding Pop…..actually it will be a good time for some good old-fashioned male bonding. I guess.
Happy Monday All!
Go Redskins! I love to watch football on TV...go figure...
Here I am, on the floor in front of the television set….watching football which is one of the only things I’m interested in that comes out of that big screen in the corner! All those little people running around like crazy people – chasing a ball (which of course I can relate to)…..falling down on the ground and running – SO much to watch! Sometimes I watch other stuff on TV for a few minutes but I can watch almost a whole football game without getting bored.
Yesterday our team (The Washington Redskins….RED…..my favorite color of course) won their game, but just barely. Mom was on the edge of her seat – I was on the edge of my rug – and both of us were worried for a while that those little people running around had run out of steam and were going to lose the game. Whew!
I might not have watched as much football yesterday as I did if it hadn’t been one of those rainy, chilly afternoons. Just chilly enough that Dad built a fire in the fireplace – so my spot here on the rug was close to that on top of being close to the TV…….it was the perfect cozy spot to enjoy the game. I’d normally be on Mom’s lap but she gets a little carried away (NOISY) and I’m not crazy about people talking loudly….I’m a quiet kind of guy!
So that’s how I spent MY Sunday afternoon – how about you??
