Freak Out Friday

MOMMMMMYYYY!!!!!!!   Come home!!!!!!   No it’s not that Daddy’s been torturing me………it’s not that he hasn’t fed me or petted me or followed me around while I whine……..it’s not that he didn’t TRY to let he go outside and munch on grass……it’s none of those things……..his lap just isn’t as comfy as yours is!

Mom will be home from Auntie Carol’s later this afternoon and I’m excited……………………CAN YOU TELL????????????????????    I hope she had fun.   I hope she brings home some birthday cake……….Dad forgets to put warm water in my wet food to make it soupy like Mom does…….gosh I’m just full of complaints this morning aren’t I.

Well if you want to know the truth of what I’ve been doing while she’s gone………….I think you could guess pretty easily because most of you know me pretty well by now………………….

Yep – that’s right…………………..I’ve been up in Mom’s studio under my tent snoozing.  What a life.

Marvelous Monday

Howdy!  Well, all is right in my world again as most of you know……Mom didn’t lose her way coming back from her “Girls Weekend” for her birthday and arrived Sunday before lunchtime.  YAY……I gave her the cold shoulder for the first ten minutes then decided that as enough punishment for deserting me and have been following at her heels since (except for when I slept on her lap of course).   She did have a good time though so I suppose I should be GRACIOUS and say I’m glad she did. Here’s a photo of her sitting at her table at the book-signing she attended – this was taken before the doors opened and the throngs of people arrived:

 

She sold some autographed books, talked to some old friends and made lots of NEW friends so that means it was a success!  I think if I’d been sitting on her table it would have attracted more people to come over and then I could have told them about the kids cat book she wrote……..on the other hand I would have been freaking out at all the strangers so maybe it’s a good thing I WASN’T there!!

Momday

NO that’s not a typo…………today is Momday.  I decided that today is going to be all about Mom.  YES I know she has her own day once a year anyway – Mother’s Day, but today is MOMday here in my house.

Hi Mom!

So why Momday?  Well, a better question might be WHY NOT?!   Yesterday as I was watching Mom clean out my litterbox for the third time since morning I got to thinking about how much she really does for me.  She does LOTS.   From my first meal of the day to my last hug of the night before bed, she’s there for me.  If I need her and I call, she’s there…….if I feel the need to go potty and want her standing by to clean the box, she’s there…….if I want to go outside and I stand by a door and scream, she’s there…….if I want a nice cozy nap and hop up on her recliner to give her the BIG HINT, she’s there…… My Mom is THE BEST.

Wonder if her arms are aching from holding all fourteen of my pounds!

In fact, she does so much stuff for me (and Dad too I suppose) how does she find time to do anything for herself????   (TRUST ME…..SHE DOES!!)

See? She does do SOME stuff for herself like buy a new car……

Do you tell your Mom how much you appreciate her?  What do you do to show you love her?  Hmmmm???????

It’s Gotta be SPECIAL!

Ah……Saturday…….the weekend……..not that it makes all that much difference for my family because my parents are retired and home all the time instead of leaving me alone while they work.  It’s just that Saturday feels different anyway – don’t you think? 

I’m kind of thinking that since tomorrow is Mother’s Day (don’t forget your MOMS!) I should make something to give to Mom.  After all, not only is she my Mom but she’s also my best friend.  But what to make? 

I could pick a bunch of HER flowers from the garden and make a corsage or bouquet……after all, I do have extra toes on my front claws so I can use my “hands” pretty well – picking flowers is a cinch.  But she gets flowers all the time….so it’s not that special.

I could do a sand sculpture for her since I have a HUGE and ready supply of cat litter down in the basement but that wouldn’t be so special since she’s downstairs several times a day cleaning my litter box and might notice I’d “borrowed” some litter from the box.

I could make breakfast for her tomorrow morning but I don’t really think a can of tuna & shrimp or ocean whitefish or even salmon and crab would really be “her thing” so even THAT wouldn’t be special.

I know!  Tomorrow morning I’ll hop up on the bed (because I don’t sleep with my parents at night since I’m all grown up) and go up close to her face and purr REEEEEEEAAAAALLLLL loud and when she wakes up I’ll give her a big kiss and a head bump.  Now I KNOW she’ll love that and I also know that it would be SPECIAL. 

Gosh, I’m glad I solved THAT problem!  What will you be doing for your Mom tomorrow to celebrate Mother’s Day?????
