Monday SPARKS……the idea is courtesy of our friend Annie whose blog “McGuffy’s Reader” is on a break just now but Monday was the day Annie thought we could all benefit from spreading a little light and a little inspiration – a SPARK – so we are carrying on with that idea because it’s a GOOD ONE!
My contribution this morning is a simple one………..but when I first read it, I thought…………………..WOW…………………you know how sometimes things just kind of catch you off guard and you read it a second time and do a “double wow” ?? I like this one…………..makes me realize just how interesting functioning well under pressure truly is and Mondays always felt “pressurized” for me especially when I was still working full-time.
SO – from one diamond to another……………………….here’s some food for thought!
Be all that you can be this Monday and every day……………….no matter what lies ahead………..the rewards will be there………………..
Pam and Teddy too
It’s Monday yet again…………………and time to share a bit of a SPARK to get things off on the right foot. SPARKS is a Hop started by Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and although Annie herself is taking a blog break just now, those of us who love the idea of sharing some motivation, light and inspiration on Mondays are carrying on in her name.
My SPARK today needs absolutely no flowery words from me………………..it speaks for itself! Although I will say that I TRULY feel like this…..E.V.E.R.Y. D.A.Y.
It’s Monday and time for our SPARK of the week. SPARKS on Monday is the idea of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader blog. Annie is taking a well deserved break but those of us who love the idea of sharing something positive and adding a little “SPARK of light” to the world each week are continuing the tradition she began. The idea is sharing a thought, photo, idea, quote, that might start our week and everyone else’s week off on a high note – maybe one we can keep with us all week!
Today is HUG YOUR CAT DAY – not that everyone would know that but as a lover of cats, and someone who has always loved them whether they were mine or someone else’s (!), I have a quote today which is a combination of a powerful spark and an expression of my appreciation of felines. I also think it’s an adorable “poster” – the cat smile in the picture makes me smile and that is the whole idea behind the quote. Sometimes if WE smile and keep that smile on our faces, others can’t help but smile back – and there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with that – right?
I happen to think that the way the world sees US can be inspirational – see someone smile and you might smile back and someone could see YOUR smile and smile and pass it on…..and so on and so on………maybe it would be a happier place if we all had a smile on our face?
Hugs (and smile) Pam
Although Annie at McGuffy’s Reader is taking a well-deserved break from hosting McGuffy’s Reader’s SPARKS on Monday, her idea to spread light and inspiration to start each week goes on. We will continue to honor that idea and Annie by posting a quote that touches us and that we hope will touch those who see it as well.
Today is Memorial Day…………..and as a woman who grew up in a military household with an extremely patriotic father who spent his life serving his country, I have always carried in my heart admiration for those who choose to dedicate themselves to serving. My Dad was a guy who would get teary hearing the Star Spangled Banner – who wore his uniform proudly every day of his active service and who was wholeheartedly patriotic. I carry that spirit with me thanks to him. I have his old footlocker which is filled with HIS memories, many of which relate to his career and once in a while I open up this treasure box and feel close to him once more and become “re-infused” with that love of country. I’m sure I will do that all the rest of my days.
My spark is in the spirit of patriotism………………and love of my country…………and for him.
SPARKS is the wonderful idea of our friend Annie of McGuffy’s Reader. Starting off the week by releasing a bit of an inspirational spark to fire up minds, hearts and souls thereby lighting up the world is a GREAT say to begin another week. Annie is taking a much deserved break right now but those of us who enjoy the Blog Hop are carrying on with our SPARK posts in her honor and in the hope we can inspire those who read what we choose to post.
I’m returning to AGING with my SPARK this week. Maybe because I have it on my mind right now – I’m celebrating with my sister this week her 80th birthday. I know neither of us ever dreamed when we were young and crazy that we would reach our “Golden Years” before we burned out but yet here we are………..full lives and hearts. Isn’t it great?
I’d say both of us have been able to carry the spirit of the child into our later years…………carrying the spirit of the child doesn’t mean being immature or not moving with the times but keeping the enthusiasm for life, the fun of new experiences, the happiness of watching the stars at night and the ability to love learning something new every single day…….just as a child would do.
I also absolutely LOVE this photo………it even has a cat in it !! Happy Monday………………….
It’s Monday and time for a SPARK to start our week…………..as you all know, Annie of McGuffy’s Reader is taking a bit of a break which she truly needs so that means SPARKS isn’t “hopping” as usual but it’s still a wonderful idea to post something uplifting for the week ahead. My SPARK today is actually what the “essence” of Annie’s SPARKS is………..bringing a little light into the world. It’s how we do it that’s the real message here……………. I don’t think this one needs any flowery words from me or an explanation/translation (!)…………..so just THINK about it – and have a good week.
For You Annie……..
Happy Monday! Time to share a little bit of light – a thought for the start of the week – something we can hold onto as we face whatever comes our way. SPARKS is the idea of my friend Annie from McGuffy’s Reader……Annie’s thinking is that the world can be a bit of a puzzle and challenge and sometimes a DARK place in which to move. Why not try to help by bringing a positive thought to LIGHT – something we can all perhaps “get” and feel GOOD about? If you have a thought to share, why not join in this wonderful HOP of Annie’s? I thought a lot this weekend about friendships. My belief has ALWAYS been – and I’ve talked about this before in another SPARKS post – that people pass through our lives for a reason. We think at the time it’s “chance” but I think it’s because we need them at that time to help us learn something, understand something, or help us through something in our lives. It’s not just random…..people enter our lives for a REASON. Even when a friendship runs its course and we part ways happily or even unhappily – we have learned something we just might carry with us forever.
Yes and I want to thank whoever is reading this post for being here……………maybe you needed to hear this today? Try to get the messages people bring to you – whether or not you understand them at the time, trust me – you will one day.
HAVE A SPARK FILLED WEEK!
Happy Monday! Starting another week………leading to who knows what? Actually that’s the really FUN thing about life isn’t it….most of the time we have no idea what the day will bring us. Each day is a gift; sometimes wrapped up in newspaper and sometimes in sparkly paper with fancy bows. Up to us to give it some SPARK. Annie of McGuffy’s Reader started this Blog Hop because she felt – rightfully so – that we need a little LIGHT in our lives – a little spark of inspiration. Monday seems a good day to share those thoughts. If you’d like to join her and the rest of us who enjoy sparking things up, please do. Click her badge above and become part of the crowd!
My SPARK today actually took me a long time to choose – there are so many amazing quotes by so many amazing and wise people about aging. I admit that I really never gave it much thought before I turned 70 but while age doesn’t really MATTER to me (I’ll always be 18 in my heart!), I find the quotes I read to be so on target it’s amazing. Each one speaks to me in a different way. There were probably a half dozen I COULD have used for my spark today but I settled on this one:
Looks certainly aren’t everything – and I’ve ALWAYS thought that………..I felt a lot like the little ugly duckling for a lot of my youth – but I guess in time I realized just how truly unimportant all of that focus on what we look like is. I want to be known for what I think, how I feel, what I do, how I share my ideas, how I can help but looks? NAH. They are fleeting – my SOUL is here forever.
Have a super Monday!!
Monday is here – again – isn’t that great? A new week………a Monday for us to use as a springboard to the rest of our week. A chance to maybe read something that pumps up the volume and gives us something to focus on the rest of the week and who knows – maybe always and forever? SPARKS is the idea of our host Annie from McGuffy’s Reader – she felt there just wasn’t quite enough light to go around in this world and that if we shared some ideas/thoughts/inspirational quotes maybe it would hit someone’s heart and mind “just right” that it would light up some dark corners for them and everyone else! Want to join in? Please do – just click on the graphic above and go to Annie’s blog – fill out the LINKY form and join us. Inspire………….!
My SPARK today says it all. I won’t even add to it as I usually do with my own thoughts because Hemingway said it best…………it needs no further explanation.
Make today the start of a GOOD week………..
Happy Monday! Time for those of us who are happily enjoying this wonderful Blog Hop started by our friend Annie of McGuffy’s Reader to share a little inspiration with others who like starting their week off with the spark of power. Annie believes that the world needs more positivity and this is a wonderful way of “releasing” some of that when we share thoughts on Mondays – maybe we’ll think about something we read in another Sparks post that will “stick” with us all week, all month or maybe forever. Want to join in and share a spark of your own? Just click Annie’s badge above – fill out the LINKY tool and join the “movement”.
I have passed my 70th year on this earth in this life and while aging has never really bothered me – I know a lot of people who find it very difficult to have yet another birthday. When they think about aging or even just look in the mirror, they focus on what was instead of what might lie ahead. I grew up with an age-obsessed mother so perhaps that’s where I got my “grateful for every day no matter how many of them I have” attitude???
I saw this quote and thought – YES!!!! Maybe you’ll feel that way too.
I don’t really think this quote needs an explanation……………but I must say that I am so happy that I know people who are so BEAUTIFUL in this way………..they inspire me.
Love, Pam (and Teddy too)
