Friendly Friday Fill-Ins Hop

WOW – it’s Friday already.    Well you know what that means – fill in the blanks day!    Four sentences – two from each of our co-hosts – with blanks for OUR words to go.   Easy peasy huh?   Well it’s sure a fun way to learn stuff about each other.

Here are this week’s FOUR sentences.    Mom and I split them up again this week.   If Mom is filling in with her words, the words will be in RED and if I’m filling in the blanks, my words are BLUE.

1. When I run out of syrup for my pancakes, I use jelly as a substitute.
2. I don’t understand why snow has to be so darn cold – I hate touching it with my paws!!
3. Three AM is the best time to wake up my Mom – although I’m not sure she feels that way too!
4. It seems like I’m the only one who enjoys having houseplants – David thinks plants belong outside – period.

Done!   Filling in is finished until NEXT Friday!    We expect snow on Sunday and into early Monday morning……………….keep your fingers and toes crossed it either misses us OR is just a dusting.   We’re just a tiny bit tired of snow even though we’ve only had TWO snows so far!    They just STAYED for too long!

 Hugs, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thursday’s here and it’s time to talk about what we’re thankful for.    I am thankful that our snow is just about gone………………..just in time for the next batch which ALLEGEDLY will be here Sunday.   Maybe they’re wrong this time????????   I don’t like the stuff myself – I won’t TALK on the snow and if your entire yard is nothing BUT snow it means all I can do is sit on the front porch!    Anyway, Mom and Dad don’t like the white stuff much either – Dad has to shovel or snow-throw it and Mom has to hope she doesn’t slip and land on her NEW hip.    I’m also thankful that even though more and more and more people are getting Covid……even the mild version… Mom and Dad so far are OK – and the only people they know with Covid don’t live here – they live far away.

Anyway, lots to be thankful for.     Thankful Angel Sammy sent me his poem – I was anxious to see what he wrote for this week’s photo!

It’s Poetry Day!

Hi everyone……………….it’s that time of the week.    We share poems we’ve written during this past week based on my inspirational photo that I posted last Thursday for you to use.    Can’t WAIT to read your poem!    Here’s the photo I gave you and MY poem:

“Reading Thoughts”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©January 12, 2022

Some people just never seem to run out of words

Overly long explanations about things they’ve seen or heard

The lady in the blue blouse thinks “when will this fantasy story end?”

The guy in the striped shirt thinks “I’m a little embarrassed that she’s MY friend!”

The man in the plaid shirt is thinking “she says a spaceship landed in her yard this morning?”

And the lady telling the story thinks they’re all totally crazy not to heed her warning!

Don’t ask me where this one came from in my fertile imagination but I kind of got a kick out of the expressions on the faces and thought what kind of story could the woman be telling that caused so many different reactions?    Anyway, that was fun.   I have another photo for you to use when you write NEXT Thursday’s poem to share right here next week.

Awwww….sweet!     So that’s your next week’s project……………it’s a very “pale” photo – sorry about that but it’s the way I found it in searching.     Enjoy coming up with something for this one and I’ll see you NEXT Thursday!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Hugs, Angel Sammy

Thanks for visiting us again Angel Sammy… just can’t imagine how much I look forward to your weekly email.    Sending you my love and a hug.

Hugs, Teddy

“Heck yes – bring on the chicks!!”

It’s Tuesday and time to tease
Pay attention if you please!

And there’s no sign of any faces!
But we know you’ll figure it out
We never have any doubt!
Tomorrow we’ll see who is first right
We’re sure they’ll be high as a kite!
Teaser badges are highly prized…..
By all the wise girls and guys
So get to work and be FIRST
While we head to the pub with our thirst!

Girls nine times out of ten you work having a beer or being in a pub into your cheer – what’s with that???   Do you girls own stock in the pub or something????

“We’ll never tell!”

Well I think it’s time we all headed to the cafeteria for some food.   Breakfast or lunch – Miss Dingleberry has everything we could want to eat ready for us every single Tuesday and Wednesday.

SPARK on Monday

What is SPARK on Monday????  If you don’t know what posting a SPARK is all about, here’s the history!   SPARKS is a Monday tradition – how did it start and what IS IT?  “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago.  It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it.   Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.   Why?   Because sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort.   Please feel free to post your own SPARK on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way.

I’ve talked about the idea of the below SPARK photo before here……………and I continue to see evidence that it’s TOTALLY TRUE and works just about every time.  Of course these days with masks on you aren’t too sure BUT if you look at people’s eyes – you see that smile……….it crinkles the corners of the eyes and you can see cheeks rise over the mask and you just KNOW there’s a smile under there.   And it makes you feel like a million bucks.

It works just about EVERY SINGLE TIME and it’s worth the effort……………..a pile of smiles is worth just about everything these days!

Hugs, Pam

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Ahhh Thursday!  You know how we love Thursdays.    We talk about what we’re thankful for with Brian’s HOP and we also share poetry with Angel Sammy.    First things first – THANKFULS.    Oh a new year makes you think back at what you have to be thankful for and I continue to be happy that my Mom and Dad have stayed healthy – they went a long way toward that when they got their vaccinations AND their booster.    That’s what it’s going to take for this nasty stuff to go away – everyone needs to get their shots – period.

Also thankful that even though we were bombarded with snow two days ago – 7-8 inches worth – we didn’t lose power as many in Virginia did.   Also thankful my Mom and Dad were not on Interstate 95 when it practically closed down – imagine the biggest north/south interstate CLOSED DOWN due to snow and backed up cars wall to wall for miles and miles.  People stuck in their car for OVER 20 hours in the frigid cold.    YES we are thankful.

Angel Sammy sent us his weekly poem and I’m sharing it with you below.    If you wrote a poem for THIS week’s photo which he gave all of us last week – be sure and let everyone know you wrote one!    Everybody LOVES poetry day!

Happy 2022 Poetry Lovers!

Let’s start out the year right by sharing some poems shall we?  Did you write one?   I gave you a photo last Thursday so you’d have a week between THEN and today and if you wrote a poem – tell us you did in my comments here – we want to read it!

Here’s the photo I gave you AND my poem for this week:

First of all I love this photo….just look at that face – just look at that outfit – pack on his back – ski boots – the whole thing – ready to do what Mom and Dad are doing and even has his own ski pass!    Here’s my poem for this cutie:

“Kiddies Slope?”

Mom and Dad I’m ready to go

I’m so excited to tackle the snow

I’ve got my bottle in my pack

And some animal crackers for my snack!

Just promise me you won’t go too far out of range

I’m a little too young to handle it if I need a diaper change!

The expression on that little face is priceless.    What a fun photo to use this week……………….I tried to find one for next week that would be fun too!    If you wrote one for this little guy – let us know in comments will you?

Here’s next Thursday’s photo.    I picked this one because there’s a whole lot of leeway in deciding what’s happening in this photo so I think writing a poem to go with the situation/photo might be tons of fun:

I know what I think but let’s see what YOU think!!     You’ve got until next Thursday to figure out what you want to say in your poem!    ENJOY…………….

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

New Year Hugs, Angel Teddy

Love the poem you did for today Angel Sammy.    I wonder if I could ski…..we have enough snow that I could try.     Maybe sledding is more my style.    You left me your sled when you went to the Bridge and I’ve never used it.    Maybe I can get Mom to take me out in the front yard on the hill?

Sammy With His New Sled – March 2013

Teddy – not too enthused about this TEENY bit of snow before it got HEAVY
