SPARK on Monday

Standard

Hello Monday morning Friends……….it’s SPARK day.  “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

While looking for a quote about Spring I ran across this …… which really is not about Spring but more about attitude.  I like it!

Sunday Selfie Hop

Standard

Happy Sunday!   Selfie day……………….join up with The Cat On My Head’s selfie hop by clicking their badge and finding the link and show your fine self off too!     My fine self is another flashback I’m afraid.    Busy week – Mom just didn’t get around to taking photos of me – she had lots of appointments to keep.

So – here we go with an oldie but hopefully a goodie.

My Mom loves this photo………you’ve seen it before I know!    It was taken on this day in 2017 when I was one year old.   My tummy was a tad smaller back then…….Mom says to me “you really grew into your skin Teddy!”     Well Yep – I guess I did.    We’ll “artsy” this up a bit and make a puzzle for you.

Mom used the “POLYGONS” art effect – I like what it did to my furs!    We made a puzzle of this one for you too.

Click this tiny me photo for the puzzle and I wish you LUCK and a Happy Sunday!!

A Day After St. Patrick’s Day Greeting!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their St. Pat’s Day!   The Royal parents had a lovely time with neighbors and I had a lovely time wandering through the castle halls on my own looking for royal mice who might enjoy company.   HAHA

Anyway, I have a lovely SNACK recipe for all of you – sent to me by a dear friend – (thank you Inge!) and it sounded so delish I wanted to share it with all of you.   It’s also EASY PEASY in addition to being incredibly yummy.    Just because a recipe is simple doesn’t mean it’s not DELISH.

Garlic Parmesan Bacon Knots

Ingredients

  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan

Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 425° and line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper. Tie each slice of bacon in a double knot and place on sheet tray. Season each piece of bacon with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
    2. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until almost crisp. Remove from oven and sprinkle grated Parmesan over knots. Return to oven and bake 6 to 7 minutes more, or until desired crispness is achieved. Let cool slightly before serving.

See what I mean about easy?    Well if you try making these you will also see what I mean about DELISH!     See you next Saturday with another winner!

Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Standard

Garfield thinks HE is – but I might challenge him!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Hello Friday and Hello Fill-In Fans!    Thanks to our co-hosts, every Friday we get to fill in the blanks in four sentences (two from each host) and have a lot of fun doing it!

This week’s sentences are below and this week I let Mom provide some of the words…………………just so you know, if the word is BLUE then it’s MY word, but if it’s GREEN it’s my Mom’s word!

1. If one doesn’t share then one doesn’t deserve the bounty they have.
2. What happens at my litter box stays at my litter box (until Mom cleans the litterbox!).
3. One day I will move to either a smaller house OR a senior living place, but for now we’re hanging on to our 3 story house on almost an acre – yes we’re nuts!
4. If you ask me my favorite treat, I would say at the moment it’s Friskies PLAYFULS.

YAY – done!    Now that was fun – it always is.    We’ll look forward to seeing what our co-hosts come up with for NEXT week!

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Happy Thursday everybody.   Double duty day – first we want to share our “Thankfuls” then we’ll have some fun with Angel Sammy’s Poetic Thursday.     Thanks to our friend Brian for hosting the weekly Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.    A great way to get us to focus on the many things we can be thankful for.    My thankfuls this week include (1) the three hours of heavy snow resulted in NO inches of snow because it all melted on impact!, (2) My Mom had her first preliminary appointment before getting cataract surgery, and finally my Mom has a THANKFUL – she says she’s thankful that it’s been incredibly windy and cold this last week because when I ask to go outside and she takes me, we aren’t out there any longer than five minutes!   Why?  Because I HATE WIND!

If you want to share your thankfuls – click the  badge above and link up with us.

Next up – Sammy’s Poetic Thursday.

Hugs, Teddy

Hi Poetry Lovers!

Let’s share what we’ve written this past week shall we?    We used the photo I gave you LAST Thursday as inspiration for today’s poetry sharing fun.    I hope you gave writing one a try if you haven’t written poetry before and those of you who HAVE written poetry before – make sure and tell us you did in COMMENTS and give us a link so we can read it!

Here’s the photo followed by my humble poem offering:

“No.  Thank.  You!”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©March 15, 2023

What comes to mind – I want to be clear

Is the danger involved with a dive from up here

A freak lightning strike or a shift in the wind

Could spell disaster – A most tragic end

A job on a cruise ship might be fun

But if offered “pool diver” status – I would definitely RUN!

Makes me dizzy just looking at the photo.   I hope she gets paid big money to do that dive stuff.    I thought it was interesting there were VERY FEW people watching from the spectator seats below.   Maybe a lot of people like me just don’t want to see SCARY stuff!!!

Next week I have a goodie for all of us.   Here’s next Thursday’s poem inspiration:

Well it’s interesting right?   Let’s see what we all can do with this photo – and we’ll share next week.   I’ll look forward to see what you come up with!!   Until we meet again I hope you will……………..

Stay Well and Stay Happy

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love always, Angel Sammy
