Teaser Tell All and Celebration

Standard

“Reporting in that there are no security risks on school property today Professors!!”

Thank you Clowie!

(stay tuned for an announcement about our wonderful security supervisor)

Welcome to class students – today we’re also celebrating Professor Teddy’s Third Gotcha Day!    He joined my family February 12, 2017 and Mom and Dad were happy to have a kitty in the house again after I flew off to the Rainbow Bridge in December 2016.

YAY!  Time to celebrate!

Well I’m sure there is celebrating going on at my parents house today.   I will be watching from my usual spot of observation at the Rainbow Bridge.   I’m only here in class with Teddy on Tuesday and Wednesday on a DAY PASS of course from the Bridge.   One of these days Teddy will take over all teaching duties and I will truly RETIRE.    Meanwhile, we will celebrate HIM today as well as our winners from yesterday’s Teaser.

I keep a party hat in my desk for special occasions!

Let’s begin today’s class with an announcement as to WHO was lucky enough to arrive early and be a FIRST COMMENTER…………………….actually we had TWO FAST FIRSTIES yesterday – they were:

Drumroll……..

Cecilia from My Mind’s Eye (Down Home in NC) and Janet from The Cat On My Head

HIPPITY HIP HOORAY CECILIA AND JANET!!

Each of you gets one of these:

YAY FOR BEING AN EARLY BIRD! I was one of TWO First Commenters on the Teaser of February 11, 2020! (yawn)

Now as for the Teaser photo – it was a GUEST TEASER photo submitted by our super good friend (and frequent Teaser Photo Provider!) Miss Jackie from TWO DEVON CATS!    Here’s the photo:

One very long, very desolate, very pebbly but very peaceful beach called Chesil Beach, located in Dorset, UK.    Sure looks pretty there and as some people said when they commented on this one, looks VERY VERY quiet.    Thank you Miss Jackie for sending in this photo from your trip there…………………this is for you in appreciation!

My photo was used at One Spoiled Cat for their TEASER post of February 11, 2020!

Who was the lucky duck who was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER this week?     Well, remember when you first got to class we said that we’d have a special announcement about our beautiful and very efficient Security Supervisor Miss Clowie?    WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL……………….Our First Right Guesser was:

CLOWIE!!!!!!

WOOO HOOOO CLOWIE!

This is for you Clowie:

I took a minute from my Security duties at Ding Dong School and was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser of February 11, 2020! YAY FOR ME!

There was at least one other right guesser before we went to press but if there were more – ALL of you get one of these!

I was RIGHT with my guess on the Teaser of February 11, 2020 but I wasn’t first! Heck!

AND if you guessed but were wrong – you get a GREENIE – at least you tried and you should be PROUD you did!

I was WRONG with my guess on the Teaser of February 11, 2020 BUT at least I tried!!!

BIG CHEER FOR ALL THE WINNERS!!!

Cheer Team – you’re ON!

What a day to celebrate
We have winners – isn’t that great?
First Commenters we had TWO
Unless you are Cecilia or Janet then IT WASN’T YOU!
Our First Right Guesser was Security Guard CLOWIE
When she found out she got all happy and glowie!

Tuesday Teaser Class In Session!

Standard

A frosty morning at Ding Dong School as the bus pulls up………….

Security Supervisor Clowie and her team are patroling and finding nothing of concern but they want to remind you students as you come in to:

COMMENT BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR SEAT!!!!

Greetings students!    Welcome to the Teaser Class this week.    We have a GUEST TEASER for you today and we hope you will enjoy figuring it out later after we show it to you!

Well I’m present and accounted for and ready for teasing!

Me too…..!!

Good!    Then let the games begin!    First up we will review our rules for Teasing………………very important that you follow them.    We want everyone to have the same chance at winning so you must resist temptation to put the Teaser photo into a photo recognition program and find out the EASY way where the photo was taken.

THEN we want to show you what fabulous badges we have for those of you who win OR lose OR almost win !

Our Graphics Department will be changing up badges soon – we don’t want you to get tired of these badges now do we???

Please tell the Graphics Department we appreciate all the ARTSY badges they make!

We will definitely pass that comment on………………not everyone shows off their badges but some do and we like to give them some VARIETY – it’s the SPICE OF LIFE you know!!!!!!!

I dunnow what spice of life means…….HUH?

Nevermind…………let’s just keep on moving shall we??????     Let’s go ahead and bring in our Teaser Photo Guard Rusty who has been careful to keep a close eye on the photo so nobody gets their hands on it before class sees it every week……………………..

Here’s today’s photo Professors!

WOW! What a view – that’s the biggest litterbox I have EVER seen!

So students you need to study this photo and make a guess where this photo was taken…………..!    Give it your best shot………………..and our Cheer Team is going to give you some encouragement to do just that!

Groovy…….

Alright students get on the ball
If you guess this one right you’ll be standing tall!
We think this one might be rough
Guessing a beach location can be tough.
We know you’re smart – there’s just no doubt
So give us a reason to scream and shout!
Be a winner and when we do the Tell All cheer
It will be YOUR name that you will hear!!

Thanks Cheer Team………if that doesn’t fire up this group of students – nothing will!

ZZZZZZZZZZ

Well almost all the students anyway………………………

Now who’s up for cafeteria treats?    The cafeteria is having “International” day…………………let’s see what’s on the menu shall we?    After lunch you can come back and study or make your guesses.      Then it’s back on the bus for home until class tomorrow when we’ll announce winners!

Hello Class!   Today we have goodies from all over the world for your lunch choices!  Enjoy!

Sunday Selfies Hop

Standard

Hi everybody!   Sunday is here so that means selfie time.    I’m doing a FLASHBACK selfie this Sunday.    We actually are sneaking up to the date we celebrate my GOTCHA DAY (February 12th) so I’m looking WAY  back in my files for this flashback to about the time I was adopted.

This was snapped by Mom on February 13th, 2017 which was the day AFTER I arrived in my new home from the shelter.    I’m already looking at my Mom with “love eyes” aren’t I ?!    I was pretty darn happy to be out of the shelter!

Mom decided to jazz this photo up with Lunapic using the REDBLUSH filter – I think it makes me look pretty darn cool (if you ask me!).

For you puzzle fans, here’s the puzzle – 100 pieces!!

Click the MINI-ME photo and have fun……oh – and have a HAPPY SUNDAY too!!!

Love, Teddy

P.S.   Come join the fun at the Tabby Cat Club – we would love to have you !

Bakin’ with Bacon and King Teddy

Standard

Hello Fans of Bacon!   Welcome to the King of Bacon’s kitchen!  It’s time to MAKE SOMETHING!

Yes we gather in my kitchen here at Castle Baconia on Saturdays to allow me to share a recipe with you that has our beloved BACON in it.    It can be anything – a dessert, a main course, a veg, a treat, a snack………as long as it has BACON!

This is a yummy Southern recipe and if you like cabbage, you’ll like this one……………..if you don’t like cabbage then sorry about that but cabbage is delish AND good for you!   Try it!

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion and Garlic

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place the bacon in a large stockpot and cook over medium-high heat until crispy, about 10 minutes. Add the onion and garlic; cook and stir until the onion caramelizes; about 10 minutes. Immediately stir in the cabbage and continue to cook and stir another 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes more.

MMMMMM…..good!

I haven’t done a vegetable dish in like FOREVER with bacon so thought I’d switch things up a bit this Saturday.  I hope you approve………………………remember like all recipes you can add or subtract ingredients – as long as you don’t leave out the BACON!

Enjoy this recipe – it’s dy-no-mite

Happy Saturday – King Teddy

Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Standard

YAY!  Friday is here – time to have some fun filling in the blanks in the four sentences our two co-hosts have given us this week.    It’s such a fun way to learn about each other don’t you think?  If you want to join in the fun – click the badge above and when you get to 15andMeowing – fill out the LINKY form – easy huh?

Here are this week’s four sentences……..two from each of our co-hosts.   Mom and I both filled in the blanks this week – my fill-ins are in BLUE and Mom’s are in GREEN!

1. I wish I could tell me teenage self not to be in such a hurry to grow up and to enjoy being young and free.

2. I think the most romantic movie is “Always” – not a very well known movie but very romantic and sweet – there are SO MANY great romantic movies though!.

3. This morning was the last time I had to find a hidey hole while strangers were wandering around my house!.    (the HVAC guys who were here yesterday came back to put in a new sensor and Teddy felt like two days in a row was simply UNACCEPTABLE to interrupt his nap time)

4. Interrupting my nap time happens too often.

Poor ME – I really have it rough don’t I?    HA!  Just kidding.   I am totally spoiled but I like things my way – who doesn’t????     So that’s it for another week of filling in the blanks.  Can’t wait for next week………..Fridays are totally cool with Friendly Fill-Ins Hopping!

Happy Friday Friends……………….Hugs, Teddy

CALLING ALL TABBIES…………………………………anyone interested in joining a cool club ONLY for Tabbies?    If so, go to the Club and GO FOR IT.   We’d love to have you – really and truly!!!!!

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Okee Dokee!   It’s Thursday so time to share some thankfuls with each other.   If you want to join in this Hop hosted by our buddy Brian, click his badge and fill out the linky form and you’re IN!

Well we had introooooders in the house this morning and it made me realize one thing for sure that I’m thankful for – and that is that we have a nice big three story house with a whole lot of hidey-holes and hidden spots so that when strangers are here, I can find a nice, quiet place to wait until they leave.    I’m not shy with people I recognize and even some strangers, but these guys had noisy work uniforms and noisy paper shoe covers and noisy toolboxes and they were coming and going from the front door a LOT.   SO I thought I’d forego the usual “WELCOME TO OUR HOUSE” greeting and pick a hidey hole.     Know where Mom and Dad found me?   INSIDE one of my “cubby holes” on my cat tree.    What’s the big deal about that?    I love my tree – a LOT – but I’ve never been inside the little boxes with entry holes because I’m TOO BIG.    When Mom and Dad came looking for me after the workers left I was stuffed inside one of the cubes with my head sticking out.    Dad said “I hope he can get out of there!” and they were pleased to see that while I took up every square inch of space in the cube part, I am wiry and agile enough to unfold myself and squeeze out like a wiggly worm with no problem!    They laughed!   Imagine that!      It’s nice to feel SAFE in my house though.

I’m also thankful Angel Sammy’s email came on time…………I’m sharing it with you below.

Let’s Share Poetry!

Hello friends………….time for us to get together and share the poems we have written that were inspired by the photograph I gave you last week.    Oh I look forward to this every week and I hope you do too – AND of course if you’ve not participated before, please give it a try.    Short poem or long, any form you like, but you might find it’s a lot of fun to write one with a photo I’ve found as your inspiration!

Here’s last week’s photo – if you’ve written one, please tell us in comments and give us a link to it so we can come read it!!!

“Hug Fest”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©February 5, 2020

“Hey don’t push or we’ll all fall down!”

This group of meerkats is full of clowns!

A bunch of meerkats is called a MOB

They squish up close like a hairy blob!

They’re in the same family as the cute mongoose

They stay in groups and are rarely on the loose

Many years ago I saw them in a zoo

Moving about in a clump – never fewer than two

They love each other’s company so three’s not a crowd

If they see an eagle they will growl and yell quite loud

All I know is I think they are quite cute

With their raccoon mask eyes and their hairy brown suits

If they are very careful and don’t become an eagle’s prey

They can live ten years full of fun and play.

My Mom has a crush on these little cuties……………from what I’ve read they have a very complex society and to me that means they are smart little animals.   Photos of their “babies” are beyond cute.    Of course kittens are pretty darn cute too – I know I was!

Now, here’s NEXT WEEK’s photo inspiration – you have a whole week to think of a poem to go with this photo – I think it might be a FUN one!

OK everyone – take your best shot………………..and be here next Thursday to share your poem OK?    GO FOR IT!     Until then, remember we Angels have our eyes on you 24/7 – you are never alone………we will watch over you always and forever.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love, Angel Sammy

♥ ♥ ♥

Thanks Angel Sammy – I look forward to your poetry every week…………..and just seeing your face………………….

Love, Teddy…..and please note below – we are looking for Tabbies at the Tabby Cat Club!!

Teaser Tell All

Standard

Hello class!   Glad to see you this morning.

I know you are curious to hear how things turned out with the Teaser photo from yesterday.    We have award badges for the winners and boxes of kleenex for all the tears from the losers.

We’re all ready to hear the scoop Professors!

Good – I’m glad you’re excited.    We actually had TWO First Commenters yesterday morning when we went live at 7:40AM EST………………….both of them are “Frequent Flyers” when it comes to being early birds and sneaking in to ring the school bell FIRST when we open the doors.     WHO ARE THEY?

Drumroll Please!

FRIENDS FUREVER and TIMMYTOMCAT !!

WOO HOOOOOO TO THE TWO FAST FIRSTIES!

I was one of TWO First Commenters on the Teaser post of February 4, 2020! YAY FOR US !!

I was here early but I forgot to comment!!!!

Well you know what they say………………”YOU CRUISE – YOU LOSE”………….maybe we should post a sign on the front door to the school on Tuesdays saying “DON’T FORGET TO COMMENT WHEN YOU GET HERE!!”…………….

Anyway, it wasn’t too long after we had our first commenters that we had our FIRST RIGHT GUESSER…………………..here’s the photo we showed all of you yesterday:

A mighty pretty photograph I might say……………and our Graphics Department found this one on a real estate site actually………………………..WHERE was the photo taken?   From a bird?   From a plane?   From a balloon?   From a drone?    Well we don’t know that but we know that it’s a photo of JOHN ISLAND with the town of CHARLESTON, South Carolina, USA in the distance!

WHO GUESSED IT FIRST??????????????

Drumroll Please!

TIMMY TOMCAT (a double winner today!)

The crowd is cheering for you Timmy!!!!   Here’s your badge!

I was the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER of the Teaser photo of February 4, 2020. I am PAWSOME!!!

As of the time we got our lesson plan done for class today we only had one student other than Timmy who got this one right BUT if you sneaked in and guessed correctly AFTER Timmy did – please feel free to take one of these runner-up badges too!

I was RIGHT with my guess on the Teaser photo of February 4, 2020 but I was NOT first…..oh well….next week maybe?????

AND of course anyone who guessed but made an INCORRECT guess – you get a reward for TRYING………………………………one of these:

I was wrong with my guess on the Teaser of February 4, 2020 but I TRIED and that’s what’s important!!!!

So there you have it – another successful Teaser class………………..!     If you have a photo you’d like us to use for a Tuesday Teaser one day, email it to us along with details of where the photo was taken and we will let you know when we will be using it to TEST OUR STUDENTS!

Mom and I will go through our photos and find one that will fool EVERYBODY!

It’s a lot of fun when it’s YOUR photo to see the guesses coming in……………….!

Now – let’s see what our Cheer Team has to say about today’s Teaser results shall we??????

Hey Ho Whaddaya know
We had winners on the Teaser show!
Early birds this week we had TWO quickies
Sharon and Timmy both were fast and tricky!
But Timmy’s luck wasn’t over yet
A second badge he was about to get!
