It’s Thursday and it’s time for us to be THANKFUL with Brian on his Hop AND for us to see what Angel Sammy has sent us for Poetry Thursday. FIRST though let’s all be very thankful for all the things we have and hope to have and for all the wonderful people in our lives who keep us happy and healthy. I am also thankful that the snow we had overnight (our very first one!) which was a half inch deep is now GONE. We had a sunny day and by this afternoon there was very little sign we’d had snow! I have to admit it was pretty but it was also cold on my paws.
Now for some poetry from Angel Sammy!
Hugs, Teddy

Hello from the NO SNOW HERE Rainbow Bridge!
I know my little brother Teddy had mixed feelings about the snow last night but it was pretty AND it was brief – it’s now gone. I remember when I was at home I was always happy when it was GONE.
Now let’s move on to what we’re here for – sharing some poetry based on a photo I gave you last week – below is the photo we all used AND my poem follows!
“Camping? Who’s Camping?”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©February 1, 2023
We see the sign – how could we not?
But the sun is out and it’s awfully hot!
We thought we’d stop and take a rest
We’ve all been hiking east to west
A hundred miles on sore tired feet
A nice cool tent is tough to beat
No camping intended – no camping will be done
We will vacate this space as soon as we say goodbye to the sun
This evening when it’s cool and we’ve packed up our gear
We’ll remember you let us rest on your property here
No trash on the ground – it will be spotlessly clean
Bless you and your family for not being mean!
Well not my best effort but I was thinking that maybe I could twist this around from what appears to be a whole lot of people not honoring the sign to some who maybe pushed the envelope a little – not staying over but just pitching a tent for a little shade and a rest then moving on. Chances are that’s NOT what’s happening but I can pretend right?
So how about a photo for NEXT Thursday’s get together?
What a look! What do you think is going on here? I bet we all have different ideas so we should have a lot of different poems next week! Have fun – this really is a lot of fun isn’t it……………….
Stay Happy, Healthy and Kind……..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love always, Angel Sammy

I think that is wishful thinking that those tents will be packed up before night time! It looks like that little boy has just had a telling off from granny!

Maybe that little girl said something like “gimme a kiss!” and he gave her the “side eye” !!!! LOL

I think you are right. I didn’t look carefully but now think it is a little girl and not his granny.

Our snow is gone and none in the foreseeable forecasts. My Dad says he doesn’t think it will snow again. This will be a record winter if that’s true! STAY WARM Ernie!

Good job! It’s so funny but when I was way way younger and we’d go camping with a big group I don’t think we EVER thought about snakes although there are plenty up in the mountains in Virginia where we’d camp! DUH!

We think your poem turned out great. Mom spent several hours yesterday contemplating this photo and kept coming up blank. Sometimes her poetry mojo is on vacation. So, she ended up not posting at all. We are very sorry for that. Hopefully, she can get inspired next week. It was a strange photo – Angel Sammy said it took him FOREVER to become inspired enough to write one!

I think those may be homeless tents, no? They are all over San Francisco and California and it’s hard to believe that in the great USA there are so many homeless, hungry and ill people living on the streets and in tents. We are thankful that at least they have some shelter.

Not sure if they’re homeless or not. Could be……..there are too many for it to be a regular “campground” I guess! It is sad…….especially when you walk around town and there are tents on sidewalks everywhere.

For many, snow that comes and goes is the best kind of snow.
It would be nice if those people were only stopping for a rest and not really camping, that’s a fun twist on the picture.
My poem is over here.

Fabulous poem for a rather difficult photo – I say difficult because people say they had a tough time coming up with inspiration for it (which you had no problem doing!). I’ll admit I had a time myself to some extent but I think next week’s photo will be easier!!

I like your poem. That boy is like why do I have to sit next to a girl?! Or maybe he next to one of those smart kids that never shuts up cause they know all the answers. LOL. Going to be 23 below with windchill tomorrow morning. Already getting cold. Yuck.
