Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Happy Thursday everybody.   Time to be thankful and our host Brian!    If you’d like to join us – click the badge and link up.    I have a thankful today – we were as close to actually getting snow (the weather peeps say it’s going to snow once in a while but until today NOTHING) – we were all set for snow – the sky was just right – it was cold as heck AND it was raining early……….then we had some BIG HUGE FAT flakes come down (which lasted about 60 seconds) then it started raining and rained much of the day.   Another epic fail in the snow department.  Now let me say that the Mom and Dad don’t WANT snow – but I kinda like the stuff (in small doses).   But I guess I’m thankful we didn’t get any for THEIR sake.

I also have Angel Sammy’s poem to share with you which he sent to me last night……………I hope some of you are writing poetry along with him!

Hugs, Teddy

Let’s Talk Poetry!

Hi everybody.   You know what Thursday is for – poetry – and I’m here to share my poem with you AND give you a new photo for NEXT Thursday so you can write a poem to share next week.   If you wrote one for today – just let us know in comments and give us a link and we’ll visit you to see your poem.     It’s a lot of fun writing a poem that’s been inspired by a photo – especially if it’s an interesting photo.

Ready?

“A Mobile Toy Store??”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©January 25, 2023

Oh my goodness I do declare

What on earth do I see there?

All those toys attached to that “ride”

I’d be embarrassed to be seen inside!

You have to admit that car is NOT “posh”

What happens when it goes through the car wash???????????????????

OK OK OK – I know it’s an awful poem but honestly – who on earth would do that to their car?    Maybe the owner has a toy store and is advertising?   Or maybe he’s just what my Mom would call a “nut job” and actually thinks it looks cool.    What happens when it rains?   I wonder if any of those ever fall off?    I can’t wait to see what you all write!!!

Now for next week’s inspiration – how’s this??

Rules were made to be broken?    Who knows…………….still it will be fun for poetry!     We all have a week to work on our poetry before we meet again!   Good luck!   Have fun!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Light, Angel Sammy

  1. We got the snow you didn’t!! At least 4 inches and maybe more, looks like about 6 inches here, we go by what we see and not what the weather dudes report, LOL! And we can expect more accumulation each day through Sunday, and who knows after that!
Of course this is my weekend to be at my work…oh well, it IS pretty! just go out only if necessary.

I too wondered about that car on a wet day.

    Here’s my take:

    Art deco on my car,
    Raises eyebrows,
    Near and far.
    Here a teddy
    There a pompom…
    All collected over time…
    And not from any Dot.Com.
    My car is unique…
    None other exists.
    Took ages to make
    Way more than a week!
    My car is polychromatic,
But rain on my art work
    Would be quite problematic!
    So I’s all for weather that’s fair…
Summer is best- like at the beach.
    That’s the time
    When you’ll see me there.

    • That’s a fabulous poem for this wacky auto! Sounds like you got OUR share of the snow. It was yet another non-event for us. I keep thinking that what will happen is we’ll have one big whopper of a snow – like a few feet worth and it will make up for lack of it so far…….EEEEK……stay safe!

    • We hope there’s no snow here in TN, cause then Mom can’t get to work and she won’t make any money to buy us more food. No forcast for snow, though. We all voted, and we think you poem is super, Angel Sammy! Mine is short – it’s called a high coo, so thought I would share it with you. XOX Xena

      A Teddy Bear car.
A dog trap or a present?
      I’ll follow it far.

    • AMAZING poem dear friends AND your blog today is totally amazing ANYWAY with the wonderful music spelling out your names and the adorable photos of the two of you getting bigger and bigger! Glad no more snow for you – but we’d rather have snow than freezing rain. Ice is scary stuff!!!!!

Lots of love and hugs, Teddy

  2. Angel Sammy, you hit the nail on the head. That was a perfect poem for that picture. I cant EVEN imagine anyone having a vehicle like that Seems that it wud be such a distraction to other drivers that would be something that would draw police attention.

    • I bet it’s just an “advertisement” car for a toy shop or something – maybe even parked outside the store……OR – some nutcase actually drives that thing around and causes accidents on the road due to people staring at it!!!!!!!

    • Campers can be stubborn folks if it’s a nice campsite I guess! As for the stuffed animal car – come to think of it – who would do that either??????? LOL Loved your poem!

  4. Teddy and Angel Sammy, Lynn says enough with the snowy stuff. 7 inches on Sunday and 7 more very heavy wet yesterday. Difficult fur her to shovel. Me, I stay under the bed and do not watch Lynn huff and puff her way down the drive and back. Precious

  5. We got some snow yesterday and because it is so cold, it hasn’t melted yet. Not a lot, but we are in snow heaven:)

We were worried about those stuffies when it rains, but we never thought about the car wash. Good thinking.

    • Oh boy is that the PERFECT poem for the photo or what?!?! So many funny things come to mind with this photo not the least of which is WHO THE HECK WOULD DRIVE IT. But also things like work needed from a garage, going through the car wash, people stealing stuff off it when it’s parked……….recipe for disaster!

  6. Mom Pam’s poem and our mom’s are similar. She thought her poem wasn’t all that great, but here is the link: https://thecatonmyhead.com/47632-2/
Can you believe our mom forgot to put a title on her post! Her memory is like a sieve. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to write some poetry each week.
