SPARK on Monday

Standard

Hello everyone.   You know what Monday means………………SPARKS!     “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own.

I know a whole lot of people (including myself) who find it hard to let the past go……I mean really let it go.   We can’t TOTALLY ignore the past – after all, it made us who we are today – good or bad – but any negativity we’re carrying from things that happened to us in the past – we do NOT need that.    We do not HAVE to have that.  We can choose to leave it behind where it belongs.

And this is what  lesson you have to learn if you actually CHOOSE to live in the past and let those things that caused you pain constantly run through your mind.   Leave room in your “being” for new experiences – better times – the future – AND then you will build a “brand new house”.

Hugs, Pam

  1. WOW do we LOVE this spark. And yes, those bricks get heavier and heavier. Now is now and now is best, we must live in the moment!

  2. THAT SAYS IT!!!! I have only just…in the past year… FINALLY realised that. This statement summarizes what we should know and follow up on. It’s easier than you might think. And necessary.

  3. I think it is okay to reflect on things that happened to us in the past even if they cause us a bit of pain. Just can’t let the past dominate our now and keep us from moving to a brighter future. It seems simple to live every hour, every day in the now but for me, I have to work at it. It’s gotten much easier the last couple of years. Great Spark, Pam!

  4. Excellent Spark. It’s basically what I said in one of the Friday fill-ins. What happens to me sometimes, is that I dream about things and people from the past. I always wonder what triggers that. Sorry no Spark from me today. I had a Spark and a photo selected, but when I went to start putting it together, Sawyer had a seizure. We were expecting it, as he has been on an every eighth day cycle and yesterday was Day 8. Guess I’ll be ready for next week. Love to all!

  5. That’s a good one. You’re right that we can’t help but think about the past, as you said: it made us who we are. But there’s a big difference in thinking about it once in a while and letting it control our lives now.
