Bakin’ With Bacon, King Teddy AND a Guest!

Greetings Loyal Bacon Fans!   I have a Guest Chef today!

Yes – lucky me – I have the ever lovely Penny from keeping me company in the kitchen today as we prepare another wonderful bacon recipe which she and her Mom Miss Ellen sent in to us!    AND it’s a yummy one I’m sure you will agree.

WHAT IS IT???????????????????????

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • crackers or crostini, to taste and for dipping

Step 1 –In a medium bowl with an electric mixer, combine the cream cheese, the mayonnaise, and the sour cream until smooth.

Step 2 –Mix the seasoned salt and the garlic powder into the cream cheese mixture.

Step 3 –Spread the cream cheese mixture into an 8-inch pie pan and chill until ready to serve.

Step 4 –Top the chilled cream cheese mixture with the lettuce, the tomatoes, the bacon, and the green onions.

Step 5 –Serve with crackers.

THIS STUFF IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!    Thanks Joanie and Mom Ellen for the recipe!!!!!!

Hugs from your King and his Guest Chef !!!!

  1. What an innovative dip. WOW. Sounds like the mixes that mama comes up with for a frittata. Last night it was leftover pasta, sweet onion, sliced leeks, zucchine, leftover grilled polenta, little bits of Tomme cheese, eggs mixed with parmesan! You never know what’s going to show up around here…

    • Your Mama is an amazing Chef so whatever it is she cooks up it’s bound to be a winner! Hopefully you eat little bits of this and that as you can…’s nice to be an official “taste tester”!! This BLT Dip is amazing and in fact Mom made a sandwich out of it on toast which she said was delish.

      Hugs, Teddy

  2. Another one for Mom to add to her list. Bacon really adds something special to any dip and this one sounds delicious.
Our Costco was filled with the most amazing smell of bacons today. Mom said they were giving out samples of an applewood smoked bacon. The line to get a taste was all the way down the very long aisle and the “cook” was telling everyone it is going to be at least 20 minutes before the next batch was ready. Needless to say, Mom didn’t wait. But she said the aroma made her so hungry.

    • Oh the applewood smoked bacon is really wonderful – we have it in our grocery and that’s the one my Mom usually gets……!!!

Hugs to the Woos! We haven’t had blog notices from you in so long we forgot to keep checking for posts but we just “re-signed” ourselves up so hopefully we will be able to see you more often!!
      Love, Teddy
