Bakin’ With Bacon And The King

Standard

Greetings Loyal Bacon Subjects!

Continuing with my “Pre-Christmas Goodies” series with another yummy item you might like to try for your family OR your holiday party.    Bacon is appropriate any time of the year you know!     This recipe is one I shared with you all previously back in 2018 but I had a lot of comments that you’d tried it and it was FABULOUS so I thought why not run it by you again for the holidays??!!

Almond Bacon Cheese Crostini

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 French bread baguette (1 pound), cut into 36 slices
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Dash salt
  • Additional toasted almonds, optional

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place bread slices on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° until lightly browned, 8-9 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the cheese, mayonnaise, almonds, bacon, onion and salt. Spread over bread. Bake until cheese is melted, 7-8 minutes. Sprinkle with additional almonds if desired. Serve warm.

YES THIS IS YUMMY!  AND it’s EASY!   That’s a great combo when you’re BUSY!

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK FOR MORE HOLIDAY IDEAS!

  1. Hahaha… went back and read my comment in 2018! Going to make these Sunday for a “lite” snacking dinner. Everything is broken in. They sound extra delicious now that it’s the Christmas season. I could eat them now… hungry! Thank you for bringing this one back, King Teddy!

  2. That one definitely sounds yummy and easy. Mom does not remember it from four years ago, but then she barely remembers her own name anymore.
