Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Sorry for the confusion but WE (meaning Mom) posted Fill-ins for today instead of Thankful and Poetic Thursday – so here we are – just a little late (better late than never???)

I could give you a pile of excuses courtesy of Mom – my Editor – but won’t bother.   We’re here now so let’s get started right?    We’re thankful for a lot of things today – thankful Mom didn’t TOTALL lose her mind and was just one day off…….thankful for the most incredibly gorgeous Fall we can remember here in Northern Virginia…….thankful that we’re going to have some new trees planted in our yard today……..and thankful that it’s almost THANKSGIVING when we can REALLY be thankful and also enjoy a delicious turkey dinner here at home sweet home!

It’s also Poetic Thursday time with a poem from my Angel brother Sammy and a new photo for next week.   Mom promises to remember what day of the week it is from now on too!

♥ ♥ ♥

Happy THURSDAY Friends!

Time for us to get together to share some poetry – not just ANY poetry but poetry inspired by a photo.    Everyone sees different things in a photo and that often makes for some really interesting poetry and thanks to you all, we can get together and share that fun one day a week.

Below is the photo I gave you last week which we ALL used as our inspiration for today.     My poem follows!

“Rainy Day Rambling”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©November 10, 2022

Rain or shine we get together

We best of friends don’t mind the weather

Tea for three in wind, rain or snow

Doesn’t matter what – we ALWAYS go

Our favorite tea shop and our favorite table

We’ll make this date as long as we’re able

A little rain won’t dampen our spirit

Dire weather warnings?  We just don’t hear it!!

No matter the weather I bet these three ladies never miss a beat.   Friendship like that is a real and rare gift.    Something to be cherished and I think from the way these girls are “dancing in the rain” they intend to stay “besties” until their last breath.     Hope you enjoyed writing a poem for this photo like I did!!   If you wrote a poem, please tell us in COMMENTS and give us your link so we can read it.

Here’s what I found for us to use as inspiration next week……………………

A bit eerie isn’t it.    These interesting “things” are of course trees covered in snow – trees on a mountain in Japan in fact.  But they look like MORE than that and it’s what caught my eye when looking for a photo for us to use for next week’s poetry.   I think we’ll have some INTERESTING poems to read don’t you?

Anyway, sorry for the confusion – this post is going to the “airwaves” later than usual but at least it’s going – and we hope you have a poem to share.    Let’s do this again next week shall we????

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

With Love and Light From The Bridge – Angel Sammy

♥ ♥ ♥

I’ll try to remind Mom what day of the week it is from now on Angel Sammy………poor Mom – she says it’s “SENSORY OVERLOAD” whatever THAT is!!

Love, Teddy

  3. I’m back!! With my poem…

    Splish Splash!
    We’re having a blast!
    We hope not to crash…
    Cause we’re dancing so fast!
    Its great to have fun
    No matter our age.
    It helps us stay young
And all the world’s our stage!
    Splish, Splash!
    We dance in the rain…
    Splish, Splash!
Having fun times, is never in vain.

Your photo for next weeks poem…Mom had to go over a mountain pass yesterday, and she thinks that photo could have been taken there, they got 3 feet of snow since last Thursday! Keep being awesome! Marv

    • Mimi sorry for your back issue – I know that hurts – be careful and heal quickly. I just commented on your poem – it’s precisely how I felt when I saw the painting. Happiness, joy, sense of fun and all of that is something I hope I NEVER EVER lose!

      Hugs, Pam

    • It’s been raining like mad here but about an hour ago it let up except for a slight mist! We loved your poem – we’ve read some absolutely wonderful poems for this photo – I think it was just FUN to write about!

      Hugs, Pam
