Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Happy Thankful Thursday and thanks to Brian for hosting!    If you’d like to share your “thankfuls” just click Brian’s badge and link up with the rest of us.

I’m so thankful that I met a few new blog friends last week from my experience of hosting “Ginger Cat Awareness Day” on the Cat Blogosphere.   It was so much fun.   I’m also thankful that we’ve been having a bit of rain here and there because we really did need it.   We know too much rain is bad especially for those in low spots but we are on a hill and can take all the rain we can get thankfully.     We also all continue to be HEALTHY.    Another really BIG THANKFUL.

I have Angel Sammy’s Poetic Challenge post for all of you…………..!

♥♥♥

It’s Poetry Day!

Our day to get together and read one another’s poems which we wrote based on inspiration we got from the photo I give you every Thursday!     I sure have fun with it and I hope all of you do too.  Many of you share your poems with us and the rest of those visiting Teddy’s blog where we share them and I encourage everyone to try their hand at writing a poem.

Here’s the photo that I gave all of you LAST Thursday to use as inspiration for a poem for TODAY………………..following the photo is MY poem!   By the way several of you pointed out that this photo is actually of a little cabin that people can rent if they would like to “live in a shoe” for a night or two!

“Just Our Size”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©September 7, 2022

A childhood poem brought this shoe to light!

A cozy old shoe where you can spend the night

Having had a lovely vacation in this comfy shoe

I can see why “the little old lady” would live here too!

What a clever design this is – very private with trees around and a nice little patio to enjoy the fresh air and a cookout.    I bet this place is a very popular spot to spend a night or two.    The minute we found this poem my Mom recited the poem she still remembers to this day about the old lady who lived in a shoe.     Hope you had fun crafting a poem for this one.    I also hope you like the photo I have for all of us to use for NEXT week’s Thursday poem………..ready?

I have one word for that – no – wait – I have TWO words for that…………………NO WAY.    Even though I’m a cat, and I can walk in places a human wouldn’t think of it, I wouldn’t be caught up there!!     Still, it’s an interesting photo isn’t it.    Bet we can all write a poem for this one.

Now it’s time for me to get back to work here at the Bridge.   I have things to do you know – we all do up here.    We don’t just float on clouds all day!!    I’ll be back next Thursday though and we’ll share poems we’ve written for this scary photo OK?  OK!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Light, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Gosh Angel Sammy that photo for next week makes me get goose bumps (if cats can get them that is).    Anyway, I like your “shoe” poem for today a lot!    I’ll look forward to next week when I see you again…………

Hugs, Teddy

  1. I think next week’s picture prompt is from when one of America’s famous buildings was being built. The Chrysler Building in New York??

I haven’t found the time to compose a poem this week…sorry…this taxi service I have to do now, is time consuming…but at least I can do it.
Then I spent hours in a futile search for some of my important papers…and after I gave up…I spied them, and I had totally forgotten that I had put them there so that presumably I would have them right at hand when I needed them for an appointment. Yikes, I felt relieved and silly, LOL!

  5. We are also thankful for getting some rain FINALLY yesterday, T. It’s been forever since we had a day like that – where it’s raining when we wake up, rains all day, and is still raining when we go to sleep. It was fun. Mom and I busted out our raincoats and wore them all day each time we went out.

  6. We didn’t know the shoe was rentable. Now that we do, Periwinkle & Stinky just might need to have a real adventure there. It sure was a fun one for a poem. We seem to remember a similar one to next week’s photo a way, way long time ago. Here’s the link to our mom’s poem (or rather Stinky and Periwinkle’s poem). https://thecatonmyhead.com/little-house-in-the-woods-by-periwinkle-stinky/

    • We had a photo once of a guy way way up high working on either a telephone line or electrical line – can’t remember which. It also gave me chills! I think P&S would be right at home in that shoe. The photos of its’ interior are adorable and very cozy!

  7. WP doesn’t like me! Not only is it not giving you notifications of my posts, now it is losing my comments too! I posted quite early this morning and said that would be a fun place to stay for a couple of days. Also next week’s photo, our dentist had that picture in his waiting room, and looking at it always gave me butterflies in my stomach.
Please WP, be kind to me.

    • I just don’t know what’s happening at WordPress…….also I’ve noticed that some of the other blogging platforms that would NOT take our comments unless I used Facebook to comment are now taking my comments. It’s frustrating when all of us JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN and VISIT OUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!!

  8. Angel Sammy’s poem is short and to the point, except the shoe has a rounded toe. Well done, Sammy. I like your straight view of things. I guess being an angel gives you clearer vision.
