Happy Thursday everyone! Time to be thankful and we really, truly are. Have had some beautiful weather for several days – even a tiny hint of Fall in the air in the early morning with 60 degree temps. Mom and Dad are talking more and more about their vacation in October so I’m thinking more and more about MY vacation at the cat hotel. Tee Hee
Before I talk more about thankfuls, I want to always remember to thank my friend Brian for hosting this Thursday Blog Hop which is everyone’s chance to THINK and VOICE what they’re thankful for. Always thankful to say that we’re all healthy and happy. Very thankful for friends – friends get you through the tough times and are fun to share the FUN times with….makes them even more fun.
Angel Sammy sent me his poetic post for today so I’ll share it with you now………………………

We Meet Again! It’s Poetry Time!
Hi everyone. Thursday means poetry and I hope you have written one to share this week. I gave you a whopper of a photo to use for inspiration last Thursday so I hope you had fun coming up with a poem to go with it.
Here’s the photo I gave you followed by my own poem:
The Angry Sea
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©August 17, 2022
The seas are capable of frightening fits of emotion
She can be calm as a pond or an angry, stormy ocean
Their incredible strength should NOT be ignored
Just ask the guy on crutches with the broken surf board!
I know – shorter than usual but sometimes you don’t need a million words to get your point across. The power of the seas is awesome. In this photo it almost looks like the people are on a ship but they aren’t – they’re on solid ground but storm seems to be of incredible strength and I know I sure would be out of there in an instant and back at the Tavern having a nice pub lunch instead of out in the middle of the unbelievably rough sea! Cool photo though.
Now – would you like to see the one I have for you for NEXT week’s poetic fun????
Oh boy! BORN TO BE WILD? Well maybe but I just bet there are some anxious parents on the sidelines. These bikes are called “Striders” by the way – no pedals – they’re foot powered.
So let’s see what we can come up with for next Thursday using this photo as inspiration…………………have fun with it!
Meanwhile, stay happy, healthy and KIND………….
Love from the Bridge – Angel Sammy

I like your poem of course Angel Sammy – that wave is soooooo scary though I’m not sure I’d want to be anywhere near it…..but then other than splashing in puddles, I’m not a fan of water unless I’m drinking it! See you next week…………..
Big Hugs, Teddy
I have seen powerful waves on both coasts, but that one looks super scary. Violent in fact! I wonder what possessed those peeps to be there on the pier??? Risky if you ask me.
Here is my take on that picture; it reminded me of some of the Psalms.
Being Strong In The Midst of Troubled Seas
Though the seas may be rough.
And comes a violent wave…
We can stand,
Strong and brave.
When our Ground is solid,
Making our spirits tough.
And able to withstand.
We may rock to and fro,
But not be tossed about.
Or washed away,
By those waves, our foe.
Cause we are anchored
On our Solid Rock.
We shall not be undone,
Though battered by waves,
That crash and shock.

Great poem as always, Angel Sammy. I believe that photo is Porthcawl in Wales. Whenever we have a violent storm they always seem to use that photo! We have been known to have equally impressive waves on the north coast. I can never understand the idiots who have to get close to watch. Several end up swept out to sea.
I can remember watching as a child from a VERY safe distance and a huge wave came in and swept a man over a 4 foot wall. I don’t think his body was ever recovered. You never tempt the power of nature!

WOW….you are right about the awesome power of the sea – that’s very sad about people getting too close and being swallowed up in the waves – sometimes losing their lives. I love to watch the waves at the beach but not HUGE waves – I find them nowhere near as beautiful as the gentle waves breaking on the shoreline.
Hugs, Pam

Striders? I’ve never heard of them, but they only make sense in a Flintstones kind of way…

I hadn’t heard of them either until I saw this photo and realized there were no pedals – they’re foot powered and I imagine a lot of fun for little ones!!

The ocean can be very powerful. I wonder what those people standing there were thinking.

Maybe they weren’t thinking…..LOL Maybe they were frozen with fear!! 🙂

I love the ocean and watching waves as long as they’re not more than 2-3 feet high or so – this looks like a tsunami! LOL The kids racing seems like it will be a fun photo to write a poem for! If you give it a try be sure and come back to visit us next Thursday!

Years ago when I was working in the Chemistry department at NCSU one of the graduate students brought in a rough draft of his Master’s Thesis. He asked me to give it to his advisor. It was 200 pages long. The professor called him into his office he said
Einstein’s theory of on revolution was 1 page you need to try again on this.
Yep less is often way better.

Short is perfect on this one, Angel Sammy! I can really feel the power of the ocean in your words. I love the ocean and it brings me peace but I have seen it when it was angry and we have seen those dudes out on their boards. Definitely need to respect our oceans with respect to their power and beauty. Well done, Sammy. I enjoyed this photo and your poem very much. Glad your Mom, Dad and Teddy Boop are having some lovely weather. Oh, and KIND is the answer 🙂

I know Angel Sammy will be happy you liked his short and silly poem this week. There is great power in the ocean and while the waves are beautiful to watch they can do their share of “injury” to the wild and wooly surfer!!
