Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Happy Thursday everybody!   Our day to be thankful AND to play with some poetry too.    First up – THANKFULS.    Very thankful this week that some tests my Dad had came out perfect and he’s fine and dandy.   Also thankful that me and my Mom and Dad have been enjoying a lot of quality time outside………even in the rain a couple of days!    Thankful as always for Brian hosting this fabulous Hop for everyone too.   Brian – you’re a PRINCE!

Hello Poetry Friends!

It’s our time – the one day a week I transmit a poem AND a new photo for all of us to use for writing our poems every Thursday.    If you happen to be new to this occasion, every Thursday I post a photo here – usually something “interesting” or “unusual” or just plain “fun” and we all have a whole week to write a poem inspired by the photo!    I look forward to Thursdays and I hope you all do too.    All you need to do is let the photo “speak to you” and write a poem about the photo – then the following Thursday I’ll post MY poem and you will let us know your link where we can read YOUR poem (or you can write the poem in my comments here!!).   EASY PEASY!

“Clara I think Mathilda Higgenbottom is cheating!

She’s won the last four rounds from her front row seating!

AND the Bingo caller keeps smiling at her and she keeps winking

Are you thinking the same thing that I’m thinking?

Here she comes strutting right by our table

To pick up yet ANOTHER prize wearing that tacky fake sable!

I do declare she is a shameless hussy

Now you know I rarely complain – I’m really not fussy

But next break I swear up to the stage I’m going

I’ll embarrass that caller until his bald head is glowing!

Here she comes back by us with her FOURTH prize

And I just might trip her when she wins number FIVE!”

 

OK – I know it’s a mean poem but who could resist.  Just look at those three ladies – can you convince me they aren’t thinking the same thing????   HAHAHA    That was a totally fun photo to use for inspiration – hope you wrote one to share with us!!
