Hello Thursday and Hello Friends! Today is the day Brian hosts his Blog Hop devoted to talking about how Thankful we are for things in our lives……….it’s a good exercise to focus on the GOOD things we all have going on – and anything else we may be thankful for. If you click his badge above it takes you there and you can link up if you would like to join.
I’m very thankful that all the racket of an entire day’s worth of sawing down/chopping up/grinding up/chipping up five way overgrown huge leyland cypress trees on our side yard is OVER. Done. It was horrible. I hid in the basement for almost 9 hours. The noise was amazing. I’m sure the neighbors thought so too! BUT – bottom line is the trees are gone – just stumps left. Now there’s nothing between us and the neighbors who are closest to our house on one side but DIRT. Mom and Dad are going to get some holly trees and rhododendrons planted soon but for now – mud is the name of the game. Thankful the noise is gone? YOU BETCHA! I’m also thankful that in spite of the endless rain, we sure do have a pretty yard with everything BIG and GREEN. There have been times in the past when we had to water everything over and over and over and at least so far none of that is going on – our hose is resting comfortably in a nice coil by the faucet.
Now it’s time for Angel Sammy’s poetry post!
♥♥♥
Happy Poetry Day!
Hi friends. Everything is wonderful at the Rainbow Bridge and I can see – as can all of us up here – that things are not so fine down where you are. Violence and sadness although there are some GOOD things happening as well – it’s just that the sadness sometimes overwhelms even the Angels.
Let’s talk about poetry. I hope you have written one for the photo I gave you last week! It was an adorable photo……….I hope my poem is as adorable as the photo is!!
“Practice Makes Perfect”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©May 25, 2022
Careful little lady now don’t you fall
Don’t be in a hurry to get “high heel tall”
One day you’ll be big enough for those shoes
A closet full I bet – red, yellow, pink and blue!
You’re a real little charmer in those ruffled pants
Trust me though those shoes were not made for dance!
Just love this photo and I can’t wait to read all the poems people write for this cute little lady in her jazzy high heels borrowed from Mommy! I had so many ideas during this last week but when I saw down to write, this just popped in my head – that’s the way it is often with poetry. If you wrote a poem, please let us know in comments – we’d love to check it out so give us your link please!
Now for next week’s challenging photo………..at least we hope it’s a challenge AND fun for everyone too:
Nothing better than cooling off in the heat of the summer! I love this photo…………..will be fun for poetry I think. I have some ideas already and I hope you do too – you have a week to write your poem and show it off HERE next Thursday………………………
Hope to see you here……………………….

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love and Light…..Angel Sammy

That was a great little poem for that baby in high heels Angel Sammy. I think she’s in too big a hurry to grow up. We are little for such a short time and a “big cat” for a lot longer. Enjoy being little while you can I say. See you next week my dear brother. I love you.
Hugs, Teddy
Here’s my little ditty:
I want to be like Mommy,
So I’m walking in her shoes.
Sure, it is not so easy…
If I succeed, I’ll make the news!

All little girls want to wear high heels! When I was about five the lady over the road who was Spanish gave me an old pair of res woven Spanish high heels. I lived in them for weeks until I fell over and broke the heel off. I was heartbroken!

LOVE the kiddy heels…our little granddaughter did that with ALL of mama’s shoes when she was young. The granddaughter, not mama. But I’m sure she did it too, loving shoes the way she does (make that, did). Jimmy Choo is just a sneeze nowadays, haha. Glad the cypress is kaput. No love of cypress here because they are so scratchy, haha.

I can remember kiddy heels but never had any. My Mom says I always wanted to dress up like a gypsy when I played dress up. LOL

It was fascinating watching the trees being trimmed then whacked up into sections and brought down. They were an excellent crew – like a “well oiled machine” !!

Your folks were wise to remove the big trees. Sorry about the noise though. Excellent poem from Angel Sammy. Very true those shoes are not made to dance in. 🙂 Have a wonderful day. XO

First of all LOVE LOVE LOVE your sweet poem this week…..secondly of course we all feel just awful about Jean – she’s a fighter though – I know she probably is tired of all the health things she’s dealt with but if anyone can get beyond it – it’s Jean!

Blerg, T. That tree removal situation sounds like a nightmare. Hiding from noise is always a good idea. Thank goodness you came through this successfully. #sobrave

Congrats on getting your trees removed. It’s such a process and the noise seems unbearable but when it’s done, it’s the best feeling. Nice poem for that adorable image.

Great poem. Wow we only had one tree done. I cannot imagine more. Rain and more rain. We had sun for a couple hours. Enjoy your day.

Your poem made mom giggle, and she sure needed that. She think if the sun would just come out, she’d feel better. The endless grey days and rain are getting old, but we are thankful for our friends, and you all are right at the top of that list. Mom did write a poem. Here’s the link: https://www.thecatonmyhead.com/kizmets-advice/

I think your Mom is right – we need some sunny days – they would improve moods tremendously. Day after day of rain/clouds/cold weather is VERY VERY old! Your poem was beyond fabulous – as always!

Howdy! Well the big oak in the front yard that we had taken down last year was replaced with the three little redbuds that we now have growing like weeds……on the side where the leylands were just removed we plan to get hollies and maybe some rhododendrons or azaleas but not yet………going to wait a bit – probably those should be planted in the Fall anyway. I will share a photo of the “naked” sideyard then when we get it fixed up will show everyone…..it should look really nice.
Glad you liked Angel Sammy’s poem – I’m sure he appreciates your comment (wink)

All that noise would make me want to hide, also, but it’s done.
My head is nodding vigorously in agreement with the poem, especially the last line, those shoes are not for dancing, at least for me, i’d hit the deck!
My poem is over here.
