“SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when she stopped blogging some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own. Why? Because sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Please feel free to post your own SPARK on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way.
If you take a look at what you find when you google “inspirational thoughts” you will find dozens of things that you will tell yourself you FEEL…..many of them STRONGLY so. These days a lot of things hit me hard like that. Thoughts about the future, about how the world is changing – that kind of thing in particular. I did find this quote though and it kind of sums a lot of things up for me – maybe for you too? AND it’s from one of my favorite people – Jane Goodall.
As they say – the future is ours. At least I hope it is!

So true. A really nice day. 64. Jake is smelling the outside-got a window open. Blackbirds this year. Got clothes washes, vaccuming done, and bathroom. I am pooped out now. LOL.

Very very true…And I see so much apathy & surrender among our elders…they are tired from fighting.
Our generation continues to fight for change.
And the very younger generations seem to not care at all…

At 8:30 am I had internet …then bam it went bye bye. At 9 am we left on our first road trip to a State Park since last fall. We just got home. More on that soon it involved 2.6 miles trek we two old codgers made it. It was quite a challenge. Thankfully Bryan did ok. I kept asking if he wanted to turn back we trudged on. Trail wasn’t bad but there were 80,000 steps down to our destination of Raven Rock and the Cape Fear River.

You are a wonder my friend – you two are also smart to keep in shape. David and I have problems walking a mile (which is RARE!) but we do try to do a bit of walking – even if it’s around town. I’m glad Bruan did alright………I just know we never EVER could have done that kind of a walk. BRAVO BABY!

Pam, so true. That our citizens are not more outraged by the shooting and killing of school children says a lot about us….and none of it good. So many just seem to care only for themselves.
