Hello Friday and Hello Friends! It’s fill-in time. Two sentences with missing words from each of our co-hosts and we fill in the blanks. Fun! Wanna join? Click the badge above and link up.
Here are today’s four sentences………………Mom and I both did the filling in again this week. If the words are mine, they’re in GREEN and if they’re Mom’s then they are BLUE.
1. “TEDDY OUT” is music to my ears. (that’s what my Mom says from the front door and I come running top speed to go outside with her!)
2. My favorite kind of soup is hard to pick as I love soup but I’d say BEAN WITH BACON.
3. If I were going to migrate or hibernate for the winter, I would go to Bermuda – we had a fabulous vacation there some years ago in Winter – not TOO hot.
4. I would go outside on my own if I could.
After Mom answered “Bermuda” as a place she’d like to hibernate for the Winter I checked weather there and it’s not really HOT in the winter – but 70s sounds pretty good to me so I guess I understand why she’d like to be there. I’m just happy Mom and Dad like being HERE with ME in all seasons. I’m a lucky guy.
Happy Friday!

da bermudas are a good idea… we would go with you…if we haven’t to wear bermudas there ;O)))

You Weims would look fabulous in bermuda shorts – my Mom and Dad have “not so nice knees” so they would prefer jeans!

Love that soup…recipe? And hunkering down is the best warming stove on earth, except for knees and cuddling.

I use my Mom’s recipe….7 strips of bacon (but you can use more!) diced
1 cup yellow onions, diced
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup celery, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
3 (15 oz) can Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Cook bacon in soup pot or Dutch oven until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon to paper towel-lined plate. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease. To the hot bacon grease, add onions, carrots, celery and garlic. Cook over medium heat until ingredients begin to soften, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook an additional minute. Stir in chicken broth and beans. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to a slow boil; reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. Transfer half of the soup to blender or food processor. Process until smooth. Return puree to soup pot and stir. Add tomato sauce and 3/4 of the reserved bacon and stir to combine. Let soup simmer until heated through, about 5 minutes. Serve topped with remaining bacon. Season to taste.

MERCI. We are drooling all over our iPad….maybe have to rinse it into the soup…
LOVE chicken soup. We had a friend who always made turkey soup after Thanksgiving. It’s a good one, too. Mama actually made dumplings once for her soup…now THAT’S an old recipe, haha. Also good with a little dash of hot pepper sauce. Off to find a chicken…….heh, heh.

Good luck chicken hunting – they can be a challenge from what I hear. Soup is such a great winter meal….Big crusty load of bread and big bowl of HOT soup…..YUMMMM (Mom says so!).

It was a nice, quiet trip….now that was some years ago and for all I know it’s just like any other tourist spot – loaded with people and noisy/busy but back when we went it was just lovely.

I loved when we went to Bermuda. It was only on a cruise but we did get an overnight so two full days.
When I was going to take the boys out I used to say, “Do any boys want to go walkies?” and would almost get run over in the stampede!

They make those connections quickly don’t they. Teddy knows many words and I love seeing him recognize them and react. Bermuda was so relaxing – we had the sun and the pink sand beach and stayed in a very out of the way quiet place – saw the sights but no big crowds and everyone so friendly.

If my bipeds say any version of “walkies”, I am by the door waiting in a flash! (They use many different terms, as they used to try to talk in code when I was a pup and a I was little too enthusiastic.) 😀

Maybe they should say “going to the vet”?

You’re mean! That makes me hide! 😀

HAHAHA…..what our bipeds don’t realize is that we can crack their codes easily (but we don’t want them to know that right???!!!)

Going outside seems to be a love of gold cats. I have never been to Bermuda but would like to go someday. I think there was a cruise to there from Charleston when we lived in Myrtle Beach and we considered booking it but I think we moved back to Florida before we could do that.

We flew although we could have taken a cruise out of Baltimore……….it was just so much quicker and we wanted to spend our time on the island not on a ship. Beautiful place though – pink sand- wow.

Hi Guys! Teddy going outside on your own is fun, but it is the getting back INSIDE that can be difficult. Mom does not stand by the door awaiting our return and we have to YELL (or climb the screen door) to get the door open! Right now we are all sitting in the living room bay window watching the deers. Mom says she would LOVE to go to Bermuda, or the Bahamas, or Any place warm where she does not have to shovel, but we know she would miss us terribly. We LOVE that photo of you!.

Bermuda!! Ahhhh, and English is there, no need to spruce up on another language, LOL!
I would go to Curacao, that is where my sister was born and my parents lived there a couple of years…I can speak Dutch, so I would be OK there, too…except my Mother said it was always HOT there…well it is closer to the equator!
I love a Dutch rendering of kidney bean soup…with lots of smoked sausage…my Mother perfected that and somehow I have not been able to replicate it that well…she did not use recipes, except for baking, LOL! There are lots of pureed brown beans, leeks, onions, and broth in there, plus the sausage in little tiny pieces. Mmmm! I think she always added a packet of chicken noodle soup to add to the flavoring, and salt…oh-oh!

I bet you could do a more than credible job duplicating her soup – you practically gave us the recipe !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Mom’s been to Bermuda once and really enjoyed it. The beaches are beautiful. She has a couple prints she got there on the wall in their old bedroom. Teddy, we know how much you like outside. It sure is too cold for that today. Mom and Dad are making us stay inside. Pffft! Don’t they realize we have fur?
