Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Thursday’s here and it’s time to talk about what we’re thankful for.    I am thankful that our snow is just about gone………………..just in time for the next batch which ALLEGEDLY will be here Sunday.   Maybe they’re wrong this time????????   I don’t like the stuff myself – I won’t TALK on the snow and if your entire yard is nothing BUT snow it means all I can do is sit on the front porch!    Anyway, Mom and Dad don’t like the white stuff much either – Dad has to shovel or snow-throw it and Mom has to hope she doesn’t slip and land on her NEW hip.    I’m also thankful that even though more and more and more people are getting Covid……even the mild version… Mom and Dad so far are OK – and the only people they know with Covid don’t live here – they live far away.

Anyway, lots to be thankful for.     Thankful Angel Sammy sent me his poem – I was anxious to see what he wrote for this week’s photo!

It’s Poetry Day!

Hi everyone……………….it’s that time of the week.    We share poems we’ve written during this past week based on my inspirational photo that I posted last Thursday for you to use.    Can’t WAIT to read your poem!    Here’s the photo I gave you and MY poem:

“Reading Thoughts”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©January 12, 2022

Some people just never seem to run out of words

Overly long explanations about things they’ve seen or heard

The lady in the blue blouse thinks “when will this fantasy story end?”

The guy in the striped shirt thinks “I’m a little embarrassed that she’s MY friend!”

The man in the plaid shirt is thinking “she says a spaceship landed in her yard this morning?”

And the lady telling the story thinks they’re all totally crazy not to heed her warning!

Don’t ask me where this one came from in my fertile imagination but I kind of got a kick out of the expressions on the faces and thought what kind of story could the woman be telling that caused so many different reactions?    Anyway, that was fun.   I have another photo for you to use when you write NEXT Thursday’s poem to share right here next week.

Awwww….sweet!     So that’s your next week’s project……………it’s a very “pale” photo – sorry about that but it’s the way I found it in searching.     Enjoy coming up with something for this one and I’ll see you NEXT Thursday!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Hugs, Angel Sammy

Thanks for visiting us again Angel Sammy… just can’t imagine how much I look forward to your weekly email.    Sending you my love and a hug.

Hugs, Teddy

  1. Know what? I should have taken the opportunity to make a poem! That looks like know no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil. All the bases and even a new one, covered!!

  4. No time to figure out a poem today, but that lady n red is so oblivious to the fact that no one wants to hear whatever she is babbling on about. The others are too polite to tell her to shut up already, LOL!

    • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You made Mom laugh so hard she had tears comin’ down her cheeks! Yep – that doesn’t happen often. She musta needed a good laugh or something. Love it though – this photo was fun – everyone had a different idea of what to do with all those DIFFERENT expressions. Thanks for playing along with us. We love ya!

Hugs, Ted O Nator – and Wet-Eyed Mom

    • HAHAHA…..I think we all know someone like the lady in red who goes on and on and on and on and on and….well…you know. Everyone else at the table is wishing they were anywhere else but THERE. LOL Love next week’s photo too…………… Hugs!

  6. Our Mom doesn’t like the snow at all, except to look at how pretty a new snowfall can be. BUT you know we Sibes just LOVE snow. We might get a bit overnight Friday into Saturday, but we would love a LOT.

We had the same impression as you about the photo – some peeps never know when to bring the tale to an end:)

  7. Angel Sammy, your poem made me laugh a lot!
The speed the Covid is spreading is a big worry. A neighbour’s son was positive a couple of weeks ago. He had his 3 shots and thankfully he wasn’t very much affected by it.
My mobile hairdresser was due to come yesterday but rang me on Tuesday to say her son has got it too. He has had both shots and booster so should be okay. My hair can wait. I have been keeping it shorter since the start of the pandemic for times like now when it has to be cancelled.

  8. Always love your poems. Can’t wait for the next one. Spent the morning signing up for phones at Spectrum. Son had lots of questions which is why I took him with me.

  9. Hee! Hee! Your poem is purrfect! Mom is still snorting, she says she knows people just like that lady! And your thankfuls ROCK! We are back to normal temperatures (a couple of degrees either side of freezing). That means it will take forever for the humongous piles of snow to melt (sigh) and Mom has not yet shoveled our cat paths! Something about having to go to the big city and restocking the cupboards in case it gets frozen again!

    • Just about the time our snow is gone we get more. That’s just the way it is. We’re OK though-plenty of food and lots of warm blankies so we’re OKEE DOKEE! Glad you liked Angel Sammy’s poem this week – next week’s photo is very cool!

      Hugs, Teddy

  11. We really like how Angel Sammy interpreted this week’s inspiration photo. The thoughts really express what is on the peoples’ faces. Next week’s photo should be fun. Mom wrote a poem, but she is not going to bother with the link, as no one will see it now.
