What is SPARK on Monday???? If you don’t know what posting a SPARK is all about, here’s the history! SPARKS is a Monday tradition – how did it start and what IS IT? “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Although Annie isn’t currently blogging, a lot of us who enjoyed her SPARKS decided to keep posting SPARKS of our own. Why? Because sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Please feel free to post your own SPARK on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way.
I’ve talked about the idea of the below SPARK photo before here……………and I continue to see evidence that it’s TOTALLY TRUE and works just about every time. Of course these days with masks on you aren’t too sure BUT if you look at people’s eyes – you see that smile……….it crinkles the corners of the eyes and you can see cheeks rise over the mask and you just KNOW there’s a smile under there. And it makes you feel like a million bucks.
It works just about EVERY SINGLE TIME and it’s worth the effort……………..a pile of smiles is worth just about everything these days!
true… if you smile you get a smile back… or if you do silly things LOL

It does work and I’m glad it does – I don’t think people would smile back if they didn’t really truly WANT to….once you start smiling at people you can’t stop!

Masks are usually down outside, so we still get to smile and see some smiles. But yes, for sure we miss them inside our building.

I have gotten so used to the half faces we see, at work and out and about, that yes, you really can see when peeps are smiling. At work we all have new badges with our faced, unmasked on them so the residents can see who we are:)
That pup has Dalton ears and an MJF face, LOL! Yup, it was contagious and made me grin!
Smiles are free and should be given out freely as well!

That is true. If someone smiles you automatically smile back! When we had an overnight in a hotel pre cruise last year, when we came down to breakfast there was a couple eating so obviously they didn’t have masks on. She smiled and said good morning. I smiled back then told her I did smile but you can’t tell with a mask on. She said she could see the smile in my eyes which I thought was nice.

You can see smiles even when people have on a mask….it’s that crinkle in the corners of the eyes and the cheeks poking up from the top of the mask that say “SMILE!!!” 🙂

An honest smile can certainly set the tone for any discussion. Mom says she is getting better at spotting smiles behind the masks:)
