Ahhh Thursday! You know how we love Thursdays. We talk about what we’re thankful for with Brian’s HOP and we also share poetry with Angel Sammy. First things first – THANKFULS. Oh a new year makes you think back at what you have to be thankful for and I continue to be happy that my Mom and Dad have stayed healthy – they went a long way toward that when they got their vaccinations AND their booster. That’s what it’s going to take for this nasty stuff to go away – everyone needs to get their shots – period.
Also thankful that even though we were bombarded with snow two days ago – 7-8 inches worth – we didn’t lose power as many in Virginia did. Also thankful my Mom and Dad were not on Interstate 95 when it practically closed down – imagine the biggest north/south interstate CLOSED DOWN due to snow and backed up cars wall to wall for miles and miles. People stuck in their car for OVER 20 hours in the frigid cold. YES we are thankful.
Angel Sammy sent us his weekly poem and I’m sharing it with you below. If you wrote a poem for THIS week’s photo which he gave all of us last week – be sure and let everyone know you wrote one! Everybody LOVES poetry day!
♥♥♥
Happy 2022 Poetry Lovers!
Let’s start out the year right by sharing some poems shall we? Did you write one? I gave you a photo last Thursday so you’d have a week between THEN and today and if you wrote a poem – tell us you did in my comments here – we want to read it!
Here’s the photo I gave you AND my poem for this week:
First of all I love this photo….just look at that face – just look at that outfit – pack on his back – ski boots – the whole thing – ready to do what Mom and Dad are doing and even has his own ski pass! Here’s my poem for this cutie:
“Kiddies Slope?”
Mom and Dad I’m ready to go
I’m so excited to tackle the snow
I’ve got my bottle in my pack
And some animal crackers for my snack!
Just promise me you won’t go too far out of range
I’m a little too young to handle it if I need a diaper change!
The expression on that little face is priceless. What a fun photo to use this week……………….I tried to find one for next week that would be fun too! If you wrote one for this little guy – let us know in comments will you?
Here’s next Thursday’s photo. I picked this one because there’s a whole lot of leeway in deciding what’s happening in this photo so I think writing a poem to go with the situation/photo might be tons of fun:
I know what I think but let’s see what YOU think!! You’ve got until next Thursday to figure out what you want to say in your poem! ENJOY…………….
New Year Hugs, Angel Teddy

Love the poem you did for today Angel Sammy. I wonder if I could ski…..we have enough snow that I could try. Maybe sledding is more my style. You left me your sled when you went to the Bridge and I’ve never used it. Maybe I can get Mom to take me out in the front yard on the hill?
So you have snow there, this winter is seems to be very generous with it. That interstate chaos was terrible, we saw in news. Great poem, and the pic is cute, he is well prepared having also a map and a compass.

We had 8″ or so a few days ago and getting 2-4 more inches tonight! YES – Winter is here – funny that the day BEFORE the snow it was in the 60s here.

Love your poem, Angel Sammy.
Next week’s photo should bring some interesting interpretations. Whatever they just saw must have been a shocker!

It was amazing that everyone did OK being trapped in their cars in freezing weather for 24 hours…..there were people who went car to car checking on others…..and one couple who asked the driver of a bread truck to please pass out whatever he was carrying because people were hungry. We have more snow tonight……2-4″ !

That’s a cute poem and I love the sled Angel Sammy. Those poor people being stuck in the cold for all those hours.

Horrible – but so lucky there were no “emergencies” for all those people stuck!

I am sure Angel Sammy was giving Gracie a big hug when she arrived at the Bridge…..I really loved how snuggly Sammy was – Teddy is like a big old bear – you want to just hug and squeeze him but he’s like a two year old – wants DOWN. LOL Teddy will go outside in the cold and seems to really like it but snow – NO. He does not like that!! Sammy liked it.

That Virginia snowstorm was all over the news here, we were praying for all those impacted – what a mess! I’m glad your folks were safe and warm Teddy. I love those photos, and your beautiful ginger furs!

We hope there was a lesson learned from that mess on I-95…..and Mom and Dad were very happy they weren’t on that road!!!

Part of the problem with that road is that it’s interstate so LOTS of huge trucks and it’s only two lanes in some areas – then 3 or 4 lanes in others…..if one accident happens the whole entire road has to shut down. They did not pre-treat the roads in spite of knowing the snow was coming…..so it was bound to happen…..what a huge mess but I think a huge lesson learned the hard way too!!

I think we agree about snow, T. Mom expects me to frolic, but I am more the my-feet-are-cold type of doggie. And do NOT let that white stuff touch my delicate belly! #no Stay warm, buddy.

WOWZERS on the I-95 Uber refund thing. Hadn’t heard that but I imagine there are a lot of stories in that pileup that could be told! Like what people did to keep warm (eeeeeeek!) which we don’t wanna know about. The sled is cute but put a 23 lb. cat on a sled in the snow and the sled ain’t goin’ nowhere! It is a cute little thing though and I especially love that it was Sammy’s.

Mom said that mess on I-95 was awful, and she sure is glad she wasn’t stuck in it. We still have snow on the ground and expect 2 to 4 more inches tonight. Angel Sammy’s poem was fabulous! Gave us a giggle. Next week’s poems should be fun as well. Here is the link to our mom’s: https://www.thecatonmyhead.com/cuddle-up-day-the-wee-skier/

Yes the I-95 thing could actually have been a lot worse had there been any sort of emergency but people adjusted as best they could and it was a BAD situation that turned out alright fortunately. We loved your Mom’s poem this week…..it was a fun photo!!

Great poem to go with that cute little boy. Next week’s looks fun. They’re saying 35 below with windchill tonight. They moved my biopsy to the 19th. They didn’t want to chance it with my cold and coughing. Said I cannot cough at all during procedure.
LikeLike
That’s tough not being able to cough….I have had one biopsy like that – called a stereotactic breast biopsy and I had to lie on my stomach on a weird table with a hole in it which was how the doctor (under the table) took needle biopsies. No coughing allowed…..not easy but amazing you can do what you have to do sometimes! I hope all goes well for you!!! We had two more inches of snow last night – not as bad as before!

Oh boy – that I-95 mess was simply hideous and we’re glad we weren’t one of those cars too. Fortunately we rarely go on I-95 unless we have NO OTHER alternative. It’s always a mess.
