Thankful and Poetic Thursday

I am thankful that my Mom is getting her Covid Booster shot tomorrow.    My Dad will be getting his soon.    I want both of my parents protected to the MAX because I don’t know what I’d do without them!     I’m also thankful our beautiful Fall is falling – – – finally the leaves are brilliant colors…..oranges, yellows, reds, golds, just gorgeous and I do love to chase and lie in piles of leaves.    There are a million things around us to be thankful for and Brian’s Hop lets us FOCUS on all we have to be grateful for.     Thanks Brian!

Time for Poetry Fun!

Hi friends…………we’ve been busy at the Rainbow Bridge this past week but I always carve out time when I’m on my cloud to work on my poem for Thursdays.    I gave you all a whopper of a photo last week to write a poem about for today.    Hope you had FUN with it – I did with mine!

Backstage models primp, preen and dress

Getting ready to pose and walk in front of the press

Outfits chosen by designers with care

Hoping the fashion magazine reps are out there!

They say first impressions are of great import

This “dreadlocked” model must be a good sport!

Gliding around on those “high stepping” shoes

I’m thinking this photo won’t make “Fashion News”.

A mish mash of styles and oh my aching feet

Imagine maneuvering the crosswalk on a busy street?

People would stop and wonder “what is this I’m seeing?”

Then they’d hold their parcels close and down the sidewalk they’d be fleeing! 

 

Yes I know – I was a little rough on the poor model in the photo.    There are some things in the photo I hadn’t noticed until I’d written the poem – like did you  notice the people behind the model are NOT looking at her?    They’re looking away on the opposite side of the stage……..pretending they didn’t see what they saw?     This is probably an extreme popular outfit somewhere but something tells me my Mom won’t be purchasing any of these items any time soon!

NOW – this is where I usually give you a photo for you to use when you write NEXT week’s poem BUT we’re going to do something DIFFERENT for next week.    What you ask?  We’re going to have what I call………………

“DO YOUR OWN THING” !

Find a photo you like – your own photo or one on the internet or ANYWHERE and write a poem about it – instead of me giving you a photo – you find your own photo of any kind and write your poem using it as inspiration.    FUN right?    I think so.    I am going to do the same thing and share my poem with you next Thursday so take this coming week to find a photo and write your poem.    Anything goes.    Have fun with it.    This is just for next Thursday – then we’ll return to ME giving YOU a photo OK?   OK!

Now start looking for a photo!    Or maybe you already have one in mind?     

I can’t wait to see what you come up with…….
