Hello Monday Friends……………you know what Monday means right? First day of a new week! Good time to start off with something to really THINK about right? “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!
I think a lot of us – me included – begin at a certain point in their lives to spend a LOT of time looking back – after all there is usually more behind us than ahead of us. But remember what’s done is done. I think maybe a lot of us believe if we look back we’ll see our mistakes and learn from them, etc. Well, perhaps this advice below in my SPARK today makes more sense. Focus FORWARD. What’s done is done.
Well, it’s true……………….it just isn’t that easy to do sometimes. Maybe looking back in time for what you’ve LOST is the problem…..memories are important and they aren’t LOST moments – they are just tucked away in boxes in our mind. Looking forward is like getting a brand new box to open – can’t WAIT to see what’s inside!
Well, this helped mama a lot. Today we are all IN the present and moving forward. With hope and positive thoughts. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams die, life is but a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.

true true true… to travel ass backwards is no option… and because we have no eyes there we can not even see to what our way is leading us ;O)

I like this Spark! When I was a kid and teen, I was always looking forward. Looking to the short future with a sparkle and hope of things to come. A football game to go to, shopping with my gal pals, going to ride my horse. I need to look for the good things, look forward even if it is short term. I have always appreciated the little things so it should be easy to look forward and stop feeling like I am stuck in the mess we call Covid. I have let myself be stuck for too long. Another motivating Spark, Pam!

Covid robbed us of a LOT of things – let’s not let it rob us of the joy in little things and moving forward. It’s HARD to do sometimes but it’s necessary. We can’t change the past but we sure as heck can GUIDE our future!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

That is an excellent spark. My hubby tens to look back often and I always tell him to stop living in the past. Have a great day.. XO

Living in the past means you have nothing to look forward to. Remind him he should be looking forward to seeing friends in October (wink wink)

Mom does look back a lot, but she says it is to things that she enjoyed and made her happy. Sometimes that can get a bit maudlin if thinking about one of the angel fur babies, but she does still enjoy the memories. The dumb virus has made it a bit more difficult to look forward. We know with anticipation of your trip to Maine, you are doing more of that! Way to go! Good reminder Spark. Mom says, “thanks.” XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet

Our “back” in the last year or so was ever so tough………forward feels like MAYBE – just MAYBE – something good is ahead. We’re all ready for it that’s for sure!!

EXCELLENT! Yeah I agree about backward showers – I had to do that when I had my hip surgery – I was trying to keep my bandages dry – it’s sort of a losing battle though!!!!!

No it’s not easy – I’ll admit that (!) but it’s really important to keep moving forward and not look back – keeping our eye on the prize…………!

You’re so right. Looking behind you strains the neck and causes you to crash into things in front of you. Happy Monday.

That is so true. I sometimes wish I could change something stupid I did in the past but then think if I changed something bad it might also change all the good that came afterward.

I think about that too……if I “fixed” something back then, it could effect EVERYTHING after that….and could be worse!
