Friendly Fill-Ins Hop

Standard

Let’s Go To The Hop!!   (My Mom remembers that song from what she calls “THE GOOD OLD DAYS” !!).    It’s Friday and time for us to get to know each other better.   Our co-hosts each give us two sentences with words missing – blanks for us to fill with our OWN words………..we learn about each other every single Friday!   It’s fun – if you want to join, click the badge above and link up with 15andMeowing!

This week I kindly let my Mom fill in ALL the blanks – just my little way of giving her some entertainment other than when she has to carry me inside after we’ve been outside for a long time and I refuse to come in on my own.   She doesn’t seem to find that very entertaining.   Maybe because carrying a 23 lb. cat isn’t all that much fun?????   Mom’s words are in BLUE!

1. Only someone with a cat would understand a cat.     (and even then it’s sometimes a challenge…..!!)
2. I just started looking at my wardrobe to get an idea of what to take on vacation to Maine this year (and what to BUY!)
3. I find it hard to believe that time is passing so QUICKLY; I used to complain about how SLOWLY it passed when I was young!.
4. I should probably spend less time on the computer.

That’s it for another week.    Mom and I will now head back downstairs and OFF the computer to watch some Olympics coverage!    I haven’t seen one cat yet – horses yes – cats no.   What’s with that?

Hugs, Teddy (in one of my previous lives…haha)

  1. The fact that you are going to have a vacation is WONDERFUL. All of our family are having summer on beaches and traveling around to see people and we simply don’t feel that is an option, even vaccinated twice and prudent. But mama loved the clothes part…she has been in tights and tees for months and decided to “dress for dinner” every now and then, haha. I’m always dressed in my tux…
A ladies’ tux mind you. No bow tie. And yes, time whizzes in a way that none of us understands….
Make good use of it, mama says, and I do. Zzzzzzz

    • Your Mama is wise. Make good use of all of our time – after all we are here in this one of our nine lives for a much shorter time usually than our humans are so don’t waste a second – cram in all the toys, treats and naps that you can!

  2. Wow, we had some similar thoughts that we put down on Miss Ellen’s Blog.
Time sure does go by faster than a rushing train!
We have to make a trip to DC in mid September, and I have not ever been there at that time of the year…so we too are wondering about the clothes to take…some are easy since ts for a memorial service…
And yes, even after having 6 (meezer)cats, I still don’t understand them all that much. Dogs?? Maybe a wee bit better, LOL! I do miss the kitties around here though, esp the purrs and laptimes.

Less time on the computer?? Um…um…I do believe I for one am addicted!

    • We have had hot Septembers and COLD Septembers in this area so you’re going to have to wait until early September to see what the “trend” might be!! Will you be in DC? Tricky down there. Haven’t been in town in probably 20 years (seriously!).

      • Yup, DC. Greg grew up there…so he sort of still knows his way around, though it for sure is vastly different than in the 70’s when he left. We likely won’t take our car downtown, if we want to be there at all, we’ll take the Metro. There will be a station a few steps away from the hotel where we’ll stay. NW DC, near the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church. He used to walk to that church, from his home…we have taken our kids there when they were very young. (But mostly we would go to 4th Presbyterian Church on River Road, a few miles away.)

I sure hope there won’t be any adverse political junk happening when we are there…or a hurricane for that matter…Greg’s cousins will be coming in from Baltimore, York and MIssouri. It seems surreal to me, Gil passed in Feb, and we are only now having a service in Mid September.
Likely will be the last time we go there…

        • My husband was born in Washington, DC in 1944. Even back then it was a bit dangerous in the area he lived. THAT part of being in DC hasn’t changed! The pandemic put a huge crimp in things like funeral services.

  3. Boy, Do I know what you mean about time passing by quickly… like a freight train that’s gathered up speed on the straightaway track. Roaring away in the blink of an eye. I remember thinking I would never…EVER get to be two digits in age! I was so happy when I got to be TEN years old.

  4. Cats are a mystery we all love to be knee deep in….no two alike. Milky-way was 360 degrees different from Madison D Cat. He was laid back all 14 1/2 years, Madi ran on Mach speed from day one.

  5. I love that photo of you in a past life. 🙂 Thank you to your mom for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I think she should treat herself to a new wardrobe for her trip. 🙂 The older I get, the faster time goes by. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

  6. We were planning on a trip back to Missouri in October but the Covid situation is going to have to change for the better. We are masked up here now again. It is unbelievable how fast time goes by. We will have been in the house a year next month… that is beyond unbelievable.

    • WOW….well Florida is a mess right now between Covid being HUGE (again) and that stinky red tide. We are still planning on going to Maine though. I bet you would love to visit Missoureeeeeee though. A year in the house already? Time truly does fly.

      • The red tide is an annoying stink! Florida needs a break. We have hurricanes, red tide, covid cases out the ying yang and an idiot for a governor. I think we are ready to go back to MO! I am hoping things are better for your trip to Maine and that you have the bestest of times there!

        • I have to say that when I lived down there so very long ago it was peaceful, quiet, no red tide, no big storms and that to me is proof of global warming and many other BIG issues that I’m happy I wasn’t dealing with at the time – I had other things to deal with but not that. Florida is a place for me anyway that might (and I say might) be nice to visit but I’m glad I don’t live there now. I do think you and SSNS have an amazing house and lots of wonderful friends…I also agree that your Governor is – well – off the charts but there are so many of those kinds in government these days it’s tough to distinguish one from another!!!! Sending you a lot of big hugs – keep them in a box in the closet and take one out when you need it!!!!!!!

          Love, Pam

  7. I agree with all your mom’s fill ins. We only have 10 days to wait for our vacation. I haven’t bought anything new. It is so long since I wore my “good clothes” that they will feel like new!

    • YES – I kind of forgot about dressing for anything other than sitting around the house and how to put clothes together, etc. Now that we’re going out to dinner once in a while I find I have NOTHING to wear! HAHAHAHA
