Happy Monday! You know what Monday means…………SPARKS. Time for an inspirational thought – a little something to get us through another week. Everyone is invited to participate by posting their OWN thoughts on their blogs – SPARKS inspire all of us! “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!
Had a conversation with someone today about aging………….Which led to me looking for some good quotes about that subject. This one REALLY struck home. I’m guessing it will do the same for you.
I am not going to complain about aging – what good does that do? It will happen to all of us……………..IF WE’RE LUCKY. Hadn’t thought of it that way right? Me neither.
Have a great week everyone.
That is so very true! It is a privilege when we are ‘allowed’ to get old…and with that comes wisdom, from which we get to share with those who haven’t ‘arrived’ yet!

I’d like to think that with age comes wisdom…..sometimes I’m not so sure when I read the newspaper but…….!!

That is such a true quote, and a subject I think of often, My father was 34 and my mother 50 when they died both from different cancers. It seemed inevitable that I would get it too and I was convinced I wouldn’t live past 50, but here I still am 2 months short of 70!

Oh Jackie I don’t believe I knew that – I’m so sorry you lost your parents SO VERY YOUNG! I’m aware of my Mom’s mother having had cancer and a Great Aunt of my Dad’s having it but sadly with both of my parents so incredibly private about their lives I have no idea who ELSE may have had cancer. It’s an important thing to know as you and I are aware. Anyway, I am thrilled you’re here and let’s hope we STAY THAT WAY for a long time to come!!

I don’t regret growing old but the way my back has been feeling lately I’m not exactly happy about it either. 🙂

A great thought, and I’m right beside you on this one. Then again, the trade-off is accepting the issues/concerns that come with aging. Unfortunately, the golden years for some aren’t so golden.

No they sure aren’t….But I myself think there’s something “freeing” about reaching a certain point in life…..AND I don’t think we’ve made it this far by chance. I really love this SPARK. Like many age-related ones I’ve seen they just SPEAK to me in so many ways.

I don’t regret getting older… in many ways it is the happiest time of my life. I am comfortable with my choices, like who I am, I don’t feel bad when I say no to something that doesn’t work for me and my time is mine to do what I want with it… there are so many other reasons that my older age is a benefit to me. A most excellent Spark!

Definitely have thought about it that way. The alternative to aging is dying young, and none of us want that. I remember having a conversation about this very thing on my front porch with my friend Lynn prior to hear death at age 39. We are so very fortunate to be aging and dare I say, gracefully! Love and hugs, Janet

What an absolutely wonderful quote. Each morning my feet touch the floor there may be creaking of the bones but Oh what a lovely sound to be up and about

Boy that really hits the nail on the head. I always try to live life knowing how blessed it is to wake up 6 feet above ground! Even with a few aches and pains. Happy Monday!

So true. People in Mom’s family do not grow old. She is officially the oldest living person in her immediate family by 4 years. Living and loving every single day!

I LOVE that spark Pam! I shall add it to my affirmations wall, I like to look forward not backward, even though parts of me don’t work as well as they used to and it takes me longer to do something because parts of me hurt–to me it just means I need to enjoy what I am doing or do something different.

It’s ok. I think I can piece it together and reglue it. I love your card. I get a lot of bent up mail. And that painting I got got shoved in my very small mail shot instead of putting it in a bigger box area we have. I could hardly get it back out.

What a shame – mail delivery “ain’t what it used to be!!”…….Glad you liked the card – it sure took its’ time getting there. LOL
