SPARK on Monday

Standard

Monday!  Time for an inspirational thought – a little something to get us through another week.  Everyone is invited to participate by posting their OWN thoughts on their blogs – SPARKS inspire all of us!   “SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago.  It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it.    Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort.   Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own on your blog and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!

Was sitting out in the front yard keeping an eye on my cat as he enjoyed the garden (and the wildlife therein!) and started thinking about how quickly time seems to be passing.  Sure didn’t feel like it was passing quickly when I was younger but now that I’m……..well……OLDER time is flying by.     I saw this quote and it struck me – yep maybe it is flying but it’s up to me HOW TO SPEND IT!    Yep – make the most of it – we really aren’t here forever.

Sometimes it doesn’t feel like we’re in charge but we are.    We can say NO to an invitation, we can say NO to a new commitment, we can say YES to a chance to do something we’ve never done before.   Yep – we are PILOTS – all of us!

Happy Monday Fellow Pilots!    Hugs, Pam

  1. BONJOUR…This window will not open up for me.I am writing half-large letters and hope they are correct. LOVE today’s saying! We are the pilots, yes. And mama was so tickled to read today’s saying, merci. Another one she loves is “what other people think of you is none of your business”….
That is from an elderly (90) woman who was talking with her niece who was worried about “what people think”…..

  2. You always find such good sparks. Yes, time does fly, but the older we get the faster it goes. Sometimes it is hard to keep up even though we are the pilots of our life.

    • You’re right – this last year sure did teach us a lot…….about navigating/piloting our lives through the biggest storm….and maybe just about ourselves PERIOD. But here we are – hopefully on the other side of the dark clouds.

    • Good pilots are also good navigators it’s true! My hubby is a pilot and taught me navigation by sight….landmarks (like we have in our lives)….obstacles to avoid (like we definitely have in our lives)….it’s all about navigating and making sure our “plane” gets where we want it to. This is a great SPARK isn’t it.

  3. Food for a dozen blogs…more than a dozen. And I think we are all the same here in that knowledge that when we are young…the hands of time are seemingly stilled. You’ll never get to be two digits in age. 10. Then, when will you be the teenager you so want to be- with all the life involvement THAT means…and then…18! Will it ever come? The magical 21. Surely it is centuries off in the distance…
The very stuff of contemplation and many hours of memories that were.

    • Yes…..and while I never thought of myself as a pilot – we really are. We can go where we want or need to go…..see what we want to see and do MANY of the things that we want to do. Our lives are truly OUR LIVES….even if we happen to be with someone who tries to control us we are the pilots – they are just along for the ride. LOL
