Happy Thankful Thursday………another week has gone by since we last thought of what we’re thankful for and shared it in the HOP – I guess I’m sounding like a broken record here but I have the same thankfuls – Mom goes for her second shot on Sunday, Dad will go the week after that, we are healthy and enjoying lots of family time and “sort of” Spring weather around here. If you want to join in the Blog Hop – just click on Brian’s badge above and link up with us. Maybe your “thankfuls” are more interesting than mine!
I also have Angel Sammy’s Poetic Thursday poetry email to share with those of you who like writing or at least reading poems that were inspired by the photos Angel Sammy gives us every Thursday. I like seeing the photos he chooses to give to all of you to use as inspiration – looks like fun to me! Here’s his email from the Rainbow Bridge:

It’s POETRY Day!
Welcome to another chance to share poetry with me and with all the other folks who tune in to read what we’ve written OR to share with us what THEY wrote which was inspired by the photos I give you every week. It’s so much fun……..we have a great group of people participating and we’re always happy when someone new joins in the fun. All you do is look at a photo that I supply every week and write a poem about what you see/feel/sense when you look at the photo. Easy Peasy.
Here’s last week’s photo which we all used for today’s poems…………….my poem follows the photo:
“Second Thoughts”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©March 31, 2021
So here we are at the edge of the world
Waterfalls that tumble into whirlpools that swirl
We thought this would be fun but who were we kidding?
Sheer drop in this water against rocks we’ll be skidding!
We all like a challenge – true adventure is our desire
But I’d rather walk across the Grand Canyon on a tiny little wire!
This photo is mind boggling and I know most of you like me are wondering if this trio of crazies were just looking or if they intend to go over. I think they are on the edge and deciding on a plan to go over. Where they will meet if they all survive – which spot on the precipice looks like the best launch spot – what they’d like to be said at their funerals!
Seriously – crazy time is what this photo is. I thought it would make for some good poetry. Can’t wait to read yours – let us know if you wrote one and where we can read it. I have a feeling we’ve got some whoppers this week. As for next week’s inspirational photo – here’s what you can use for inspiration for NEXT Thursday’s poetry day:
Well times have changed – I know our kitchen never looked like this but I’m sure my Mom’s Mom’s kitchen did. Thought we’d find something good to write a poem about with an old-fashioned look back at the way things were.
Hope to see you next week for Poetry! Meanwhile, take care of yourselves and stay safe………………………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love and Hugs, Angel Sammy

Loved your poem Angel Sammy – I can’t wait to read everyone else’s poems for this wacky photo! Gives me the willies just looking at it! I love and miss you!
Hugs, Teddy
That kitchen pic looks like it once was the most luxurious thing ever! All the (then) modern conveniences!
A Dilemma
Looking down there made me dizzy
Now my soul is in a tizzy…
To go or not to go…
stay up here
or fall down there
way, way low?
A clunk on those rocks
Will give my head shocks…
Nope, I’ll not be crazy
I’m not ready
to push up a daisy.

That is a very scary photo! I wouldn’t be tempted to cross the Grand Canyon on a thin wire either. Marv’s mom Barb has given details of the story behind the photo.

It’s a really scary photo to just LOOK at though isn’t it………and for the record, no way would I or anyone with any functioning brain go over that falls OR walk on a wire across the Canyon! HAHAHAHAHA

In this kitchen you’ll find sweet chatter and ties that bind.
In this kitchen good tastes of every kind.
In this kitchen there is an ear
That really listens to what it hears
In this kitchen we laugh and wonder
At some things that go asunder
But in this kitchen we will stay
As its warmth welcomes us each day.

Makes me weak in the knees! Your poem was very good… I don’t need that kind of challenge! Love the kitchen photo! The colors and sink look like my Mom’s Mom’s kitchen.

Familiar to me too that old homey kitchen………no electronic gadgetry to go wrong or need to be fixed – things were less complicated…..and tasted just as good if not better!

That was quite the picture of the kayakers that had mom and me completely fooled. I love what Marv and Cinnamon and Koz and Jo-Jo said…a good April Fool joke. I LOVE the old fashioned kitchen!

Angel Sammy as always thank you for the amazing photos. This one for today was so high up in the sky it was probably quite visible from the gate of OTRB.
I’d walk on a bed of hot coals or nails rather than stand on the precipice looking over
I like next weeks photo

Mom said something similar about that photo – she said “you couldn’t pay me enough to get me to even just STAND THERE much less go over the falls!”……………..EEEEEEEEK!

Those 3 are crazy. That kitchen reminds me of my grandpa’s farm except that had a pantry like area that had the sink and cupboards in. Great poem. It was finally stocked good in the pet food area at WM(they haven’t been able to get much pet foods per son that works there so he knows some). Was able to get outside cats some more food and they had Jake’s Fancy Feast. He only likes beef flavor right now. Enjoy your day.

Being on the hunt for food is so frustrating. Let’s hope things get easier for everyone – we should be able to take care of our pets as well as our human family members!
