Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

And another Thursday rolls around so it’s time to be VERY Thankful in Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.     We also get to play around with poetry with Angel Sammy.   So it’s a GOOD DAY!    First our thankfuls again include the fact Mom is toodling around without any help after her hip surgery and it’s only been 3-1/2 weeks.   Also she is on the list for the Covid shot – they say it could be as much as six weeks before she even gets a “slot” on the list but at least she’s registered as INTERESTED.    Hopefully it won’t be a long wait but our area seems to be behind the ball on organization.    Anyway, I’m just thankful myself that Mom and Dad are home with me and letting me go outside when the weather isn’t TOO cold to get a little exercise (with their snoopervision of course).

If you’d like to join in Brian’s Hop, just click his badge up above – look for the spot to link up and DO IT!

Now for some poetic fun with Angel Sammy……….

♥♥♥

HELLO POETRY FANS!!!

Here we are again – meeting on a Thursday to talk poetry – or at least SHARE poetry.    Every week those of you who want to play along get a photo from me – something you will use as your inspiration for your poem.   Then the following Thursday we will SHARE the poems we wrote AND I will give you a new photo for the next Thursday.   I hope you have as much fun with this as I do.

Here’s the photo I gave you LAST Thursday to use for today’s get-together…………………and after the photo you’ll find my humble poem for the photo.

“The Long Ride”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©February 10, 2021

Some people will do anything to be number one

Even if it’s ridiculous it can still be a lot of fun

“World’s longest limo” is a world record some aspire to beat

But I can assure you I wouldn’t want to be in the driver’s seat!

At this size I’m thinking the only rides that could be given

May be an airport runway, or over a long straight bridge you could be driven

One expensive ride it would be of that I’m pretty darn sure

Paying the fuel bill alone for that monster would be a QUICK cure!!

Amazing what some will do in order to get in the Guinness Book of World Records…………and imagine the expense?  Maybe whoever put this together had a sponsor – Imagine trying to transport that thing to shows?????    Perhaps it comes apart in sections???    Perhaps a fleet of synchronized helicopters lifts it and puts it wherever it needs to be?   Actually I couldn’t resist finding out the story of this particular limo as shown in the photo above – if you’d like to know the story of this limo (which is interesting!) just CLICK HERE.

Now – did you write a poem for the limo photo?  If so let us all know – we’d love to read it!    Put your link in comments………………..AND here’s your photo for NEXT week’s poetic fun:

EEEEK!     Well this ought to get your creative juices flowing………….or maybe RUNNING in the opposite direction?    Thought it was a cool mood photo and we could all have fun with this one!   We’ll find out next week when we get back together again.   Meanwhile – give it a try – poetry can be a whole lot of fun.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK…………PLEASE STAY SAFE…………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

LOVE and LIGHT, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Wow Angel Sammy – that photo from next week makes me nervous.   Although I have to admit, I think it might be fun to go rummaging around in those woods looking for critters!  Maybe that’s just the cat in me speaking.  I know my Mom wouldn’t go in those woods alone if you paid her.   Tee Hee      Thanks for another fun Thursday.   See you  next week!

Love, Teddy

  1. A forest so dark is a strange lonely park
But for the mind is a balm
Not the same as a palm
Or a fir or the trees
That are bright in a breeze
    But a forest like this
Is as sweet as a kiss

  2. That was SOME limo!! 26 wheels!! OMC!

You don’t want me behind that wheel either…esp when it comes to parking…or how about driving in a roundabout!! Yikes!

That sure is a spooky image for next week…it reminds me of when one wakes up, heavily sedated after a big surgery…maybe you can relate? I sure can!

  3. I certainly wouldn’t want to drive that car!
I don’t find next week’s photo spooky. Forests and wooded areas have always drawn me to them. When I was a child in the times of safety and innocence, if I was missing my mum always knew she would find me down in the woods.
The photo makes me think of 2020 and escaping the darkness of the pandemic and coming back into the light of a more normal life once again. We can only hope that it will be soon.

      • Hi Jackie! I can hardly believe myself how quick my recovery has been. I did push myself as far as I was comfortable pushing and wound up being far ahead of where I was told I should be. I really WANTED to heal quickly. It’s wonderful not having that incessant hip pain I had lived with for so long – I’m really not 100% but I’m pretty close to 99% !!! Sending you big hugs……..let me know what’s up with you when you have time.

    • Great thoughts about next week’s photo…..I “see” what you see too – coming out of the fog of the pandemic….I also “see” a light at the end of the tunnel……The interesting thing about photos like this is that you REALLY wind up finding out what’s at the top of your mind – first impressions, etc. We all are hoping to come out of the fog soon and get back to living our lives to the FULLEST!!!!

      Hugs, Pam

  6. Good job, boys. We are especially following your mom’s recovery because Mom’s friend had hip replacement surgery about a week after your mom did, so whatever your mom does, Mom’s friend will do in a week. She still uses the walker, and once in a while the cane. She has only walked 2 steps with no assistance and that was at the doctor’s office. Mom drove her, but couldn’t go in so she didn’t get to see it. We are SO SO happy your toddling mama is doing so well.

    • Oh Cupcake my Mom (and me) wish your Mom’s friend a speedy recovery too. The new way of doing that surgery is amazing – sounds like she’s doing well though and hopefully each day more and more mobile. It’s amazing how rapidly people recover and it’s wonderful all that pre-surgery hip/leg pain is just plain GONE.

  8. Another great poem. We checked out the link and saw the restoration photos. It is amazing the limo was allowed to fall into such disrepair after all the work to create it. Next week’s photo looks scary. Mom did write a poem. We forgot to get the link from her. • HAHAHAHA……Lombard Street would be quite a STRETCH for that limo!!! Yeah they didn’t say where the pool and diving board were but while I can see a pool in there – maybe the diving board for the pool is a “pop-up” thing in the roof????????????? Strange way to spend a lot of $$$ making when you can’t take it anywhere! LOVE YOUR POEM!

  13. That limo would be a gas guzzler for sure, and think about all those tires!!! But it still might be a fun ride.

Congrats on getting on the “list”. Our peeps are on multiple lists and progress is very slow, or maybe nonexistent:(
