“SPARKS” was started by Annie McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader but ended when her blog was hacked some time ago. It was meant to be a way to start out each week with with a meaningful thought – something that spoke to each of us and hopefully everyone else who read it. Sometimes we need a little “spark” in our lives and these posts were meant to at least be a PART of that effort. Those of us who enjoyed sharing a SPARK with Annie have continued doing so on Mondays – and we hope one day soon Annie will be back blogging with us again. Please feel free to post a SPARK of your own and let everyone know you have…….we get energy from each other that way!
Now that I’m pretty well “back” from the worst of my recovery period post-surgery, I’m thinking more clearly and spending more time AWAKE (!)……………..I still have outpatient therapy to do but I am SO grateful that I healed so quickly and that I had such wonderful doctors, nurses and therapists taking care of me. I also am grateful that my husband was here for me as he was my “24/7” carer and I couldn’t have done this well without him. It gave me a lot of time to think about “us” – and really about the BEST of what we give each other. My SPARK this week says it so perfectly I could have written it myself – but I didn’t!
We balance each other well…………………….I’m the one who’s up up up all the time and he’s the one who needs to be reminded often that the best things are the ones we strive for and reach for. It’s really SO true. I really just plain LOVE this SPARK.
What a great spark! Yes, we peeps are made to have ‘helpmates’ so that we can compliment each other.
Works in friendship as well as marriages! That would be a nice thing to have framed for a gift to someone special!

It’s beautiful isn’t it? Not sure where it came from but while looking for a quote I found it and KNEW it was the right one for today!

Oh, how lucky we are, Pam, because mama and papa are celebrating their 46th year on (appropriately) Valentine’s Day and they hug every day and they smile a lot and they are so thankful and sparked by just having the wonder of being together during this very terrible time for the world.
I hope your kitty is helping a lot! You will be up and at ‘em whatever they are in no time!

Oh how wonderful!!!! 46th anniversary on Valentine’s Day. I am sure they know what this spark is all about. It’s wonderful to have someone to travel through life with – who “gets” you and cares deeply for you. Oh yes indeed Teddy is being very helpful! He thinks my walker is HIS new toy…..and when I have water at bedside for night time pills, he very kindly drinks it before I do so there’s no spilling. Thoughtful boy isn’t he????
HAHA
Hugs, Pam

A very lovely and profound Spark. We should all be so lucky to have a partner that balances us in the hopefully long relationship that is marriage. That person we can trust and that is truly kind. A beautiful post, Pam. SSNS is my anchor… 47 years last month. I am happy to hear that you have moved through the worst part of your recovery. Thank you for encouraging us to keep reaching for the stars!

Glad you like it – I knew you would relate to the meaning…..you two are the epitome of this SPARK…….I think we all WANT that but it takes some of us a long time to find it…..if we ever do. I’m feeling good today although I AGAIN overdid it yesterday. Am having a nappy, snowy day to make up for no sleep last night!

Balance is unquestionably one of the keys to life. Cheers to you for doing a lot better than Norm! Poor guy is still struggling, but better than he was.

If we can make it to where NORM is, we should be happy to be there….so many never find “him” !!! LOL

I am truly glad to read that you are definitely on the upswing in your recovery. We can’t know what we will face when we have surgery until we face it indeed. We keep faith and go through every moment in recovery with expectation and spirit. Each day is an opportunity to return to what is everyday for us. We work toward that end and as we tread along..we find we got there, safe and sound and able.

I’m very grateful too for the super carers I’ve had throughout – before, during and after surgery (including my hubby and Teddy!). I have just been “cradled” in caring and that’s what we all want when we’re sort of helpless isn’t it.
Hugs, Pam
