Time for us to concentrate on what we have to be thankful for……………………..then we’ll talk poetry with Angel Sammy. As for thankfuls – well – we continue to be healthy and as anyone who pays attention to the news knows, the virus is running rampant so we’re very thankful we are still FINE here. Mom and Dad are home all the time except during senior hour at the grocery on Sunday when the doors open (Mom’s the only person in the store!!!!). Are they tired of the routine? No. The most important thing is that they are OK. There’s going to be another surge of virus after so many people thought they’d just have the usual Thanksgiving with family and friends over – little or no social distancing and heaven forbid wearing a mask. Anyway, PLEASE ALL STAY SAFE and DO THE RIGHT THING. We love you and don’t want to lose any of you.
Angel Sammy says all of the Angels at Rainbow Bridge are watching over us – they can’t make us be smart or make the right choices but they can be with us 24/7 in spirit. Angel Sammy sent us his poetic blog post for today – are you ready?

Hello Everyone………Ready for some Poetry?
Poetry lightens the load and is good for the soul……………so if you have NEVER written a poem before – please give it a try. You might surprise yourself! There are a lot of different forms of poetry and many of them don’t even rhyme. Some are VERY short too…………so be brave – you may find you enjoy poetry more than you think you will.
I gave you an interesting photo last week to use as poetic inspiration. Mom says she got email afterwards that many people have never been in a Fun House at a carnival. I think a lot of people think they’re scary. She told me that some of them ARE a little scary but some of them are just good fun. Here’s the photo I gave you and my poem follows:
“Fright or Fun?”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©December 2, 2020
They call it the Fun House but who’s to say?
Some see the unknown as going either way!
Will it be SCARY or will it be FUN?
Probably both for almost everyone.
Some people walk by and hear only screams
Whatever is in there may cause bad dreams!
There’s only one way to conquer this unknown…..
Put on a brave face and enter the Fun House zone!
My Mom says most of the carnivals she went to that had a Fun House WERE fun………….nothing scary………….the scary stuff was in the “Haunted House” or “Ghost Ride” at the carnival. Fun house was tame – some things pretty silly but at least you came out with a smile.
I have a photo for you to use for next week’s poetic efforts…………………I hope you can have some fun with it!
Oh boy – this will be a fun one………………we’re sticking with the Christmas theme………….I imagine there’s a lot of activity right about now in Santa’s Workshop don’t you? Let’s see what you come up with for next Thursday and I’ll look forward to seeing you all again then!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love, Angel Sammy

that is always the question … will we laugh or scream? maybe we can watch the people at the exit… if they look pale and have deranged hairstyles, we better skip that place…

That would be a clue alright – if people look traumatized it would be best to JUST WALK AWAY!!!!!!

I’m one of those who’s never been in a fun house. And I may try it if it weren’t so doggone scary looking from the outside! LOVE the pic for next week! That will certainly get us in the Christmas mood – or AMP up our mood if we’re already excited about the upcoming holiday. Here’s my silly little poem for today: https://thesedaysofmine.com/2020/12/03/poetic-thursday-the-not-fun-house/

Sammy, thanks for the poem as the funhouse is both scary and fun – but unlike the virus that is only scary. You are lucky that you are safe – but I’m sure you appreciate having Teddy’s watchful eye on Mom and Dad.

I have been in the fun houses and the scary ones. I remember the scary ones but not so much about the fun houses. But that clown would do me in! It looks like “fright” to me. I think your poem says it all. Santa and his elves will make for interesting and festive poems! Good Morning! 48 here this morning, 8 degrees warmer than yesterday morning! 76 for the high today. It has been beautiful here for three days. Had a long walk yesterday afternoon.

We were 46 yesterday morning but only went into the 50s last night. Our high today is supposed to be 72. Being beachside keeps us a bit warmer.

WOW…..what a pleasant batch of weather you’re having…..!! As for the poetry/photo it was the first photo I found that I thought was interesting enough to use for a poem. It had SCARY and HILARIOUS with a touch of STAY AWAY – perfect. I bet that’s why they have that kind of entrance. It’s just begging for someone to walk through! HAHAHAHAHA

Mom goes in the stores with a short list and a speedy run. She never stays in any store longer than 15 minutes. She has tried going to the early hours for the vulnerable only but finds there are way too many other people in the store who really shouldn’t be. Oh well, everyone has to eat:)
That photo for next week looks a lot like one of the Christmas puzzles Mom is planning to do.

I think maybe we might be a little bit lucky that we live in a pretty small town. People have been good about “only senior hour” at our grocery but even then often Mom is the ONLY person shopping that early!!! Everyone else sleeps in. Mom is there when the doors open at 6AM and knows the store so well she zips through with a week’s worth of groceries in no time! It’s too bad that people who shouldn’t be in your stores ARE.

Angel Sammy, as always, wrote a stellar poem. Mom just did a little haiku, as we had so many thankfuls this week. We sure wish people wouldn’t be stupid, stay home, wear a mask and social distance. The death toll from the virus is just unacceptable. So happy your humans are smart and remain healthy. I am very proud of my Mom and Dad like you all are of your Mom and Dad that they are STAYING SAFE and wearing masks and not traveling. It’s the least we can all do to keep things from going crazy and in the scheme of things, an IMPORTANT thing to do. I’m sure they will continue to do the right things because they CARE!!
