Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving – hope you had a great day. Today being Friday of course, it’s time for those of us who do the Fill-Ins hop to do our THING! If you’d like to join us in the fun hop co-hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs, just click the badge above and link up.
Here are the four sentences (two from each of our co-hosts) that we are to fill in the blanks for…………………..and this week I let my Mom do three of the sentences and I only did ONE! Mom’s words are in GREEN and mine are in RED.
1. Why is hand sanitizer so expensive? (actually I think I know the answer – it’s in HIGH DEMAND so the price gets HIGH right????)
2. On holidays, I always have a second serving of dressing/stuffing – my FAVORITE!.
3. I’m eternally grateful for the day my Mom and Dad adopted me – whatta life I have now!.
4. ‘Tis the season for giving. (I absolutely LOVE giving more than receiving…..I get so excited when someone opens a gift I’ve given them…..it brings me happiness to give things from my heart which is what I always do when “gifting”!)
YAY! Another Friday of filling in DONE. We enjoy this Hop – it’s fun to read what others fill in their blanks with. Funny how you can learn SO MUCH about people just from having them fill in the blanks isn’t it?
Thanks to our co-hosts for giving us FUN FRIDAYS.

I’m glad you appreciate your home, Teddy! Have a great weekend!

I like to choose gifts carefully too. It is disappointing though when certain family members open their gifts and just put them to one side. That is my brother’s family. I never hear from them now so just send a card. It is a pity, but I think he can’t handle my health issues.

That’s a shame – it would be nice to have his support and understanding I imagine……The tradition in my family (when I had one that is!) was no gift exchanges between adults (like aunts, uncles) and once kids were grown (like 18 years old type of grown) no more gifts for them either. I have no idea how that got started but I do remember nobody else I knew did things like that!!!! What little family I have now – we still just exchange cards. But I do love choosing gifts – it is a big disappointment when somebody you’ve shopped carefully for seems “unmoved” by what you gave them though!!!

Dressing is my favorite side, too. I would love to have a big ol’ pan of my Mom’s dressing…it was the BEST. Happy day after!

We have leftovers of everything except mashed potatoes…..I’m thinking Mom and Dad will have a “re-do” tonight!

maybe because it was just a hand sanitizer and is now the magic potion? we use gloves more and more , maybe that habit will stick with us forever ;O)

Gloves are a good idea…….and since you all go for walkies in places where there might be poison ivy or something yucky like that, you don’t have to worry about getting THAT either!

Oh she has always and forever (even as a little girl) – had a turkey sandwich for breakfast the next morning….nice slab of turkey breast on toast with stuffing….probably does sound a little wacky but – well – some traditions you just HAVE to keep!

Seems like she’s be showing a bit of wackiness throughout her life. I’m guessing others just roll their eyes.

Well she’s had a super interesting life for sure…..the 60s/70s/80s were interesting to say the least. Then she was a locally successful artist and wrote a mystery novel and participated in a couple of other books as well as editing for a poetry publisher. AND in spite of some very serious health “stuff” she keeps on laughing. I think my Mom rolls her eyes at herself more than anyone else does! 🙂 haha

Wow … that’s a lot of successes amidst the wackiness. When you allow her to post once a week, she comes across as very personable.

Mom agrees that the stuffing is the best part of Thanksgiving, hands (and paws) down. Plus, yesterday, I had my very own ravioli and got to eat the whole thing!

Noodles for second helpings for me. We were exhausted after all that cooking and eating (and wine) and fell sound asleep watching Miracle on 34th Street. For Christmas, we are going to eat earlier… maybe around 2. That 6 oh clock thing doesn’t work anymore. Teddy Boop, you do have a most wonderful life and a Mom and Pop that love you to the moon!

Yes we moved our eating time back to afternoon too for the same reason – ate like piggies then passed out in our chairs for a bit then woke up to watch a movie and enjoy the “waning” fire in the fireplace! We had leftovers last night – some things are just better second time around! 😉

Howdy 🤠 We’re still stuffed, but dressing is my favorite. It was just Hubby and me so we have lots of leftovers. It’s not easy to half recipes. So thankful you have a great home Teddy.

You’re right – recipes are tough to do in halfsies but it doesn’t have to be “spot on” – just estimate – if you’re close to half it works just fine!

Good responses. The mom wants to know why sanitizer is so expensive too. Lots of cleaning stuff is.

Seconds on my spiced up – made from scratch cranberry sauce…Mmmm! It might make a good topping on icecream if we ate that, LOL!
We had a nut crust as the base for our pumpkin pie…and plenty of whipped cream over top of that!…but we saved the seconds of that for Friday’s supper:). Which was leftover turkey of course!!
I love giving gifts, but some peeps are hard to gift, cause they don’t need anything…like my sons…and if they wanted something, well,, my pocket would not have enough $$ in it, yikes! So we all get together and just give various gift cards…lame, yes, but they appreciate it knowing they can get their own things.
Sometimes I make up care packages for the residents I take care of the most often…

Gift cards are WONDERFUL presents…….it allows people to get things they need instead of things WE THINK they need! LOL You are making some of those residents feel extra special when you give them “care packages” – bless your heart.
