Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Hi everyone. It’s “double day” here at my blog – we do THANKFUL THURSDAY with our friend Brian and POETIC THURSDAY with Angel Sammy.    We always do our “thankfuls” first though because they are so much more important than poetry.      These days we should ALL “talk out loud” about the things we’re thankful for and Brian’s HOP (which you can join by clicking his badge above and linking up) is the perfect spot to do that.

This week I have to say that we continue being VERY thankful that we’re all feeling just fine.    Nobody in our circle of friends and family has the virus or is even sick with a cold!   Everyone is healthy and I pray that all of us and all of you STAY that way.     I’m also thankful that we got rain – I know that surprises you because you know how I love to go outside in my yard BUT we needed some rain.   We got it – lots of it.

I’m also thankful that I got an email from my brother Angel Sammy at the Rainbow Bridge with his poem for this week AND his poem challenge for NEXT Thursday!    Let’s see what he sent!

♥♥♥

Happy Poetic Thursday!!!

It’s Thursday and time for poems.   I hope you wrote one – I gave you a really sweet photo last Thursday and a whole week in which to write a poem based on what your thoughts were when you studied the photo.    How’d you do?     Hope you had fun with it – let us know in comments here if you wrote a poem and give us a link to where we can read it.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week – and my poem follows!

“Where There’s A Will……”

Wheeling across the finish line together

Friendship and meeting a challenge – there’s nothing better!

The sense of accomplishment is most incredible

Sharing this day will be unforgettable

They said we might not make it but we knew we could

Together we did it just like we knew we would

The human spirit is stronger than the curves life deals

Through life forever we’ll be moving along on our magic wheels!

Obviously I have no idea if these two are friends, more than friends or just two entrants in the race who found something in common and used it to give them the energy and drive to finish the race and feel jubilant about it.     I love it.    I saw this photo and knew this HAD to be written about.

Now – next week………..what have I got for you?     How about this!

This just HAS to make you smile……………….I love it.    We’re never EVER too old to give something a try right?   Right!     Anyway, have fun with this photo – I’m sure you will.

In the meantime and until then, please stay safe, stay happy, stay positive, stay hopeful, and BELIEVE in the “might of right”.     I sure do!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love, Angel Sammy

Thank you so much Angel Sammy.   I look forward to hearing from you every week and seeing your poetry.    I just can’t write like you do!     Thanks for sharing with us.   I’ll see you in my dreams.

Dreaming……..Love, Teddy

  1. To cross the finish line together makes it extra special.
We are keeping healthy here also. It is over 2 weeks since I was in the hospital and no nasty symptoms, so that is a relief.

    • Great poem today Miss Dianna! Mom and I found a cool one for next week too – FUN! Our rain is lighter right now so I’m thinking my little brother Teddy will get to go outside at some point – if not he’s liable to drive my Mom and Dad nuts!

  3. We love the smiles on the two cyclists. If they weren’t friends before the race, they surely are now. Loved the poem.

Next week’s photo is a hoot – Mom says the look on the lady’s face is just priceless.

  4. Well, our site is finally fixed, and our post scheduled for midnight has gone out. Mom did write a poem, and here is the link: https://thecatonmyhead.com/nurse-sawyer-determination/
Once again your poem and ours were much alike in what we conveyed. Next week’s photo really looks like fun! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  5. Those were both great pictures and we loved your poem! The picture for next week is a hoot–but why is the lady in her nightgown and baffrobe?!?! That seems like a dangerous activity for jammies! Maybe sweatshirts and lots of kneepads and stuff would work better! Maybe I will write a poem of advice for her! XOXO

    • Good idea Spitty – I think maybe the lady just wears the most comfy stuff she has which would be her jammies and baffrobe maybe???? Some people march to the tune of a different drummer and this couple looks to us like they are “different”. A poem of advice would be eggcellent !

  6. We had buckets of rain on Tuesday evening and wind…maybe the lady in the picture for next week is going to to try sailing with her umbrella on dry land with her skateboard??
She is still in her night clothes?? Maybe she needed to do something special before getting ready for the days doings…and the something special is with her encouraging friend! (Or hubby)…That sure is a priceless image, it makes me smile!

That couple on their made to order bikes, well, they sure knew all about teamwork!

    • Hi Ingrid! Lots of rain here yesterday and day before but today finally some sun – later – and cooler. I think the couple in next week’s photo are just “themselves” in comfy gear. I’m going to guess these two are just what you see – two people having as much fun as they can as they go through life together. Interesting though – I’ve never tried to ride one of those things but then I was always falling on roller skates so I think this thing would be a disaster for me!!!
