Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Happy Thursday. Another chance to voice our Thankfuls with Brian’s Hop and another chance to read some poetry from Angel Sammy.    As always, if you would like to join Brian’s Hop, just click the badge above and link up to the rest of us who will share what we’re thankful for this week.

My tough old Mom and Dad are still healthy……..maybe that’s because they are doing what they should with masks and distancing and staying home as much as possible.  OR maybe it’s because I’m MAGIC and have been protecting them with an impenetrable shield so they don’t get the virus or flu or ANYTHING??????   HAHAHA     Anyway, that’s what I’m thankful for again this week.   Also that we have BEAUTIFUL Fall weather – cool and gorgeous leaves for me to play in too!

Angel Sammy’s email to me from the Rainbow Bridge came through alright – we sure have a good wifi connection!     Here’s what I got from  him this week.

Hello My Earthbound Friends!

It’s time for us to forget all our worries and problems and have a relaxing time sharing poetry shall we?     Writing is relaxing and poetry is a challenge for some but once you get the hang of it and let your imagination take you to the places where inspiration can be found, YOU can write a poem!    I’m helping you along by giving you a photo as inspiration every week.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week to use for TODAY’S poetry………..followed by my poem for the photo.    Ready?

“Floating My Boat”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©October 14, 2020

Floating on a warm, calm sea

It’s the sailing life for me!

My swan boat quietly floats

I hate noisy engine boats!

‘Round and round I turn

Sunscreen on so I don’t burn!

Mom lets me float until I cry

She’s in her lawn chair standing by

Then it’s time for my lunch and the sailing is done

This backyard pool of mine sure is fun!

This photo is so cute.   I’m sure that “fuzzy blue wall” in the background is the edge of a little backyard pool this “sailor” is floating around in.    Getting a little fresh air and enjoying a relaxing float in the pool.    This little guy will probably grow up to be a sailboat racer or Olympic swimmer or something to do with water…….he had a safe introduction to the world of water at any rate.  Did you write a poem for this photo?   If you did let us know in comments so we can visit you and read yours!!

Here’s the photo I selected to be our inspiration for NEXT Thursday’s poem……………………….hope you like it…………

Mom says she has fond memories of bowling alleys back in the 60s/70s.    This photo is from the 50s.    Anyway, thought it might be fun to write a poem about……………….!!

Until next Thursday when we meet again – take care of yourselves, hug your pets a lot because they need it as much as you do (!), stay safe and healthy…………and I’ll see you soon.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love, Angel Sammy

Fun poem this week Angel Sammy!    Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy Rainbow Bridge schedule to come visit all of us once a week.   I miss you and so do Mom and Dad.

I’ll see you in my dreams Angel Sammy – Love, Teddy

  1. Oh, we are so thankful that you had time with Angel Sammy, Teddy. What a lovely kitty and such a bard! Whatever that is…but he is it. We are always thankful for YOU and your safe family.

    Incognito and calm
    A soothing balm
    For these harried days
    And for him, much praise.

    • Bowling was a big deal in “the day”. What particularly made me giggle about this photo for next week was that the one girl has on a string of pearls with her sweater and skirt…… was a big deal going to the alley back then.

      Hugs, Pam

    • Oh boy! SSNS in a swan float? Now that would be photo-worthy (for bribery purposes of course…..haha).

Glad you two are healthy as well……now STAY THAT WAY……..
      Love, Pam and the Boop

  2. I am glad your folks are staying healthy. They are wise to follow the guidelines, if only everyone else would. Excellent poem from Angel Sammy. Have a wonderful day. XO

  3. We’re glad your Mom and Dad are doing good Teddy, that’s terrific and you are magical for them. That was such a cute Angel Sammy poem too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    • Brian thank you for giving everyone a chance to speak their THANKFULS out loud…… reminds us there are so many GOOD things in the world when it sometimes feels like we’re afloat on an ocean of BAD.

      Love, Teddy

  4. Dearest Angel Sammy I say with 100% assurance that “I’m MAGIC and have been protecting them with an impenetrable shield” is why Mom and Dad are so healthy and I’m sure you and Teddy exchange ideas too. I loved this photo today and your poem you go with it.
Oh Next week will be fun too
    Hugs Cecilia

    • Miss Cecilia Angel Sammy and I have a deal…..he sends down protection for Mom and Dad and I catch it and put it on Mom and Dad and at our front door! So far it’s working! 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Love, Teddy

  5. Yes it is amazingly magical that when you do what you are supposed to you are safer than those who do not. We love your poems Sammy and hope to think one up next week. Dad says he liked bowling a lot and misses it as he does many things

    • I think if we all keep doing what’s right – whether it’s convenient or not – we can turn things around. People say they’re TIRED of this – but if we don’t get ahold of this being TIRED won’t be the worst thing that could happen………… Hugs of safety to you too!!!!!

      Love, Teddy and Mom

  7. That photo is just so precious, and your poem did it justice so very well.

We too are doing our best to stay healthy here. We wish everyone would do the same.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

    • I think the fact that so many are NOT doing the same has us in this “pickle” we’re in with numbers growing more than ever. It’s not a joke – this is LIFE OR DEATH. Kinda scary isn’t it!! We’ll all just keep on keeping safe right Woos?

      Love, Teddy and Mom

  8. Staying out of Covid’s grip is the safest way to go. This means distancing and wearing masks. If we don’t…Covid may just come for a visit and stay with our friends. No way…out with you!

Sammy your poem is so fine….let’s hear it one more time.

    • Hi Shoko! Glad you like Angel Sammy’s poem this week. He is keeping an eye on us – all our Angels are doing that for all of us but we have to do our part too right Shoko? Right!!!!

      Hugs, Teddy

  9. Sweet poem, Angel S., even though I am not a fan of giant swans. At my park, I am pretty sure the giant swan boats hate me and want to fight me.

    Love and licks,

    • Oh how could anyone or thing want to fight you – you’re too cute! Even the evil pumpkins which used to try and kill you in the hallways of the other place where you lived!!!!!!!

      Hugs, Teddy

  10. O Angel Sammy, that was a wonderful poem and we had a little laugh of your Helloween Meowcula picture, I think you’re mighty cute, just like your brother Teddy💗👻💗 We’re Thankful that we have found you, or the other way around, because you’re wonderful furriends. Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to all of you🐾😽💞
