SPARK on Monday

Standard

Time for us to share an “encouraging word” to start the week – Annie of McGuffys Reader blog started it and many of us are carrying the torch and hoping one day soon Annie will return to blogging after her original blog was hacked. The idea is to share a positive idea, thought or graphic to shine a light in the world. It needs all the help it can get!

What made me think of this as my SPARK today?   Well it all started when I had to tackle doing our blog with the new WordPress Editor……..I was getting cranky trying to figure it out……then I thought “maybe – just maybe – once I learn it, it will be BETTER!”………so instead of letting it drive me nuts, I’m tackling it with an open mind.   Everything DOES happen for a reason.   I will smile my way through learning this – yes I will – they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but I’ll prove them wrong!

  1. that’s true… and if we can make penicilline from moulded bread, we can manage even the sh*tty stuff what comes down on us… it happens for a reason but sometimes it needs a while to discover that reason behind…

  2. I like ‘make your smile change the world- don’t let the world change your smile’. That goes more deeply than it seems on the first reading. I agree with it- and I think it is a good way to live. I make my own mindset each day. No one owes me happiness. But if I can contribute to someones happiness, that makes me happy too.

    • That’s me too – I like to make someone else happy – if I get happiness out of that I’ve WON the day. You’re right too about the quote – when I saw it, I had to read it a few times to really understand that it’s much deeper than it seems. I like things like that! 🙂

  3. Good Morning Virginieeeeeeeee! I really do believe that everything happens for a reason. I prefer my everything to be good and happy but that isn’t always the case. You will work out the New Editor. Lots of smiles here last night, Jim and Cathy loved the Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts!

    • Howdy!!! You know I do believe that chicken recipe is one of the BEST EVER meals to make – so nice and easy too when you have company. The other thing is IF you have leftovers (and we never do!) I’m told it’s great heated back up. Yeah the new Editor is a pain in the tushie but I’ll either “GET IT” or make myself certifiable getting there. LOL There are those who think I’m already there………. 🙂

      Hope the back is better!

        • Love those pain pads…..David uses them and I have thought I might try one on my hip! I’m still exploring the new Editor and for all I know I will be in love with it in a week or so. Either that or I will have gone insane. It remains to be seen which direction I’ll go. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • We have the free blog on WP and unless we have a hosted blog the plug-in isn’t available OR someone said you can PAY for it and I don’t want to do that…..so I’ll just keep complaining (hahahahaha)

  4. Hey, if you’re a doggy, I’m a donkey!!! And mama is a raccoon! And even…er…less than very young kitties/anthros can learn new tricks. So forge ahead. And mama is going to look up the Word Press Editor, whatever that is.
We use Word Press, maybe mama can help? Talk about the blind leading the blind, haha.

    • The new Editor (how we write our blogs) is cumbersome but we WILL get used to it. For now if you can find the right button to push you can still use the CLASSIC EDITOR, but the “Gutenburg” editor – the new one – is very complicated and has lots of bells and whistles that WE don’t need. If it helps those that NEED it – good…..but those of us who were FINE with the old Editor would have liked to have a CHOICE!

  5. Happy Monday! I’ve been using the new editor since it started and found taking it one step at a time made it easier to grasp. I feel it is cumbersome but there are a lot of advantages to it. Don’t give up! ❤️

    • I know…..and I’m trying NOT to hate the new editor believe me. I’m usually game for learning something new but until this change feels “EASIER” than the old editor I’m saying it’s a pain in the Tushie!

      • Maybe it’s the timing. For some it may be a good time being homebound and all. For me My concentration hasn’t been as good and my patience which is always in short supply went to the islands on a vacation.

        • Yeah I hear you on patience……Wordpress is definitely “trying” my patience with the editor thing BUT someone gave me a clue and it’s working so far………until they change it again which as we know could be whenever they want to whether we want change or not!

  6. My mama always said…’everything happens for a reason’….that and ‘sometimes we have to make do’
Making do one drove favorite sis of Angel madi crazy..pre teen and teenage girls don’t like making do.

    • We didn’t have a bookmarked old editor to count on (boo) but slowly we’re getting somewhat used to the new one – just find it overly complicated and unnecessarily labor intensive. Oh well………!

  7. We don’t know anything about Word Press, but Blogger drives us crazy enough. We know you will persevere your way through it – AND with a smile:)

  8. I am late commenting as I had another gallstones attack following the one on last Tuesday. They took me into hospital and put me on a drip and strong painkillers hoping they could squeeze me in sometime Monday for an op. Last night they could see the schedule was so busy that they can’t get me in for at least 2 weeks and sent me home to wait for an appointment.
Everything happens for a reason as you say, but I can’t see the reason for withholding food for 36 before they let me eat. I was starving!

    • Oh Jackie! I’m so sorry! What a sad situation and I’m so upset that you had a second attack. I know you didn’t want to have to go to the hospital but at least they must have been able to help you with the pain. I hope you do NOT have a third attack before you can have that op. Sending you hugs…and more hugs.

      Love, Pam
