Monthly Archives: September 2020

Welcome Students!   Time for your Professors to TELL IT ALL……..

First of all we forgot to mention that our Graphics Department (who we decided not to fire until we have a replacement!) contributed the Teaser photo yesterday.    Not a bad job although we HAVE had a Teaser in this same town before!

Secondly we wish to tell you that we had FOUR (yes we said FOUR) First Commenters.    The Cheer Team wasn’t told about them though until they were at the Pub and having a good time – we texted the good news to them about FOUR and they texted back…………”BURP…..FINE……THE MORE THE MERRIER!”       So – we made out OK in spite of a pile of Firsties.

“Four Firsties?  Bring it on!!”

So let’s tell you who those lucky First Commenters were!

“Yay for Four Firsties!!!!!!”

Your badge (please take a copy!)

I was one of FOUR First Commenters on the Teaser of September 29, 2020! YAY FOR ALL OF US!

“I tried to comment when I got here but the commenting line was too long……….”

Uhhuh…..sure!!!!    Anyway, let’s show you the photo from yesterday and then we’ll tell you WHO the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER was!

It’s beautiful downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico!!

We have had a Teaser photo from here before but we wondered if anyone would remember – several of you did – GOOD JOB recognizing the place.   It was the cathedral at the end of the street AND the mountains in the background that most of you recognized!

Congratulations Csilla!!   Here’s your badge:

I was the FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser post of September 29, 2020!!! I’m a SMARTIE!

AND there were several others who got it right – you all get one of these:

I guessed RIGHT on the Teaser of September 29, 2020 but I was NOT FIRST! Not fast enough I guess…….!

And of course we have a few Greenies to pass out too for those who guessed but were WRONG:

PHOOOEY! I guessed WRONG on the Teaser photo of September 29, 2020. But I tried! That’s worth SOMETHING – right?????

Cheer Team?   You’ve got your work cut out for you!!

Holy cow you all went crazy
Lots of early risers – you’re sure not lazy!
FOUR First Commenters and that’s a crowd –
We’re here to tell you their names out loud!
Janet, Sharon, Ingrid and Timmy were super quick!
Then right after that our FIRST RIGHT GUESSER came and Miss Csilla made the right pick!
See we did the cheer with all the names because we’re real pros!
But next time we have to work with all those names, we’re pinching Teddy’s toes!

Uhoh………………now that’s a threat if I ever heard one!!!!!     Well students and cheer team – how about some lunch to round out the day – then you can go home and RELAX!   Next week we’ll have another doozy for you – maybe even something you’ve never seen before instead of a REPEAT!

Welcome to the cafeteria!   Lots to choose from today!

Today’s Delights:

See you next Tuesday Students!!! Your Professors

Teaser Class Is NOW!

“Good job Security Team!  Let’s report in and let the Professors know it’s CLEAR!”

Happy Tuesday Class!  Have you COMMENTED yet?

Time for our weekly contest to see which student(s) are FAST enough to be First Commenters, and which are good enough investigators to figure out the location of the TEASER photo to be FIRST RIGHT GUESSER!

“We’re READY!”

Alright then let’s get going – first up – the rules then the badges:

There you have it – all the “prep” work for the Teaser is done so it’s time to move on to the MAIN EVENT!!!!!

“Wait – No – not THAT kind of MAIN EVENT!!”

No boxing allowed in class!

Anyway, we’ll go ahead and get our Photo Security Guard in before another fight breaks out and get started on the guessing of WHERE today’s photo was taken!

Here’s today’s photo Professors!

Where Was This Photo Taken????

That is for US to know and for YOU to find out!

“I thought you said this week’s Teaser would be EASY after last week!!!!”

Now don’t blow a gasket………….this one might be easier than you think depending on what clues you may pick up in the photo.    This is supposed to be a challenge – remember????

Cheer Team – maybe if you come in and give this group a pep talk they’ll calm down and start studying the photo???

Come on students lose those frowns!
You all are the smartest students anywhere around!
Calm down and study the photo and look for clues
You’re guaranteed to lose those blues!
You know how to do this so show the Profs you’re smart
Give it your best effort right from the start.
You might win a badge if you get it right
We love the FALL badges – they’re outtasight!
We’ll be back tomorrow to celebrate the wins
Now study those books to figure this out until your brain spins!

Very interesting cheer ladies……………especially the spinning brain part.    Now – who’s up for lunch?    I think if you have a good lunch then you might have a better chance to figure out the Teaser photo.    SO LET’S GO!

“Can we have a food fight?”

Absolutely not!

Hello Students!    Had to wear my freaky smile mask today – my bandana is in  the wash!   Enjoy your lunch!

All aboard for home sweet home!   We’ll see you in class tomorrow gang!!

SPARK on Monday

Happy Monday!    Time to share a thought for the week ahead – a little SPARK in our lives maybe?  For quite a while those of us who knew that Monday Sparks would hopefully be as uplifting to others as it has been for us, kept posting a message of hope, love, and positivity on Mondays even though Annie of McGuffy’s Reader blog – who began Sparks – wasn’t blogging due to having been hacked.    Well we got a big surprise a few weeks ago when Annie blogged again and we are sincerely hoping she will be able to continue!    It was a brilliant idea she started – and we’re carrying on with it as we have been.    Annie – we’ll look forward to your permanent return!

My SPARK this morning is a simple one.    It’s about one of my favorite things in life – friendships.    I treasure the ones I have – past, present and future.   To me, this little simple poster says it all.   Those million little things make life worth living…………don’t they?!

I’m grateful for my friends and if I look back at my long life I can remember some of my very  best friends and how important they always were to me.    Still are……………..

Hugs, Pam

Sunday Selfie Hop

It’s time to HOP with The Cat On My Head.    Thanks to our hosts the Kitties Blue for hosting this fun chance to share a selfie of ourselves with the blogosphere.   If you’d like to join in, click the badge above and link up with us!

Mom helped me find a FLASHBACK Selfie this Sunday because she’s been so busy this week with all kinds of things that she didn’t have a chance to take a NEW photo of me.    So let’s see what we can come up with Mom – something from this same day in the years since I’ve been here!!!

Well this little gem was from September 30, 2017 – a few short months after I arrived at my FOREVER HOME.   I had beaten the poor red cube Angel Sammy left for me to SCRAPS and passed out from exhaustion more than likely.    That white blob is what is left of the white mouse Angel Sammy left for me – but I had torn into bits and Mom used an old cut up handkerchief of Dad’s to “repair” it as best she could.   YES we saved the rag mouse with a box of Angel Sammy things……and believe it or not, we even have the raggedy old red cube (Mom has it in her closet).

We have used this photo as a Selfie before too – because I found it in our files!   Here’s the jazzed up version:

And if you click this mini-me photo you will see the puzzle which MANY of you did back in 2017 – I bet you can beat your time!!!!!

I’m watching you!!!!!    Hugs, Teddy

Bakin’ With Bacon and The King

Welcome to the Castle where Bacon RULES!

Happy Saturday Bacon Lovers.    I’ve got a goodie for you – maybe I should say ANOTHER goodie because we do cook up some delightful goodies in the Castle Kitchen and this one is really extra yummy for breakfast OR brunch.

BLT Brunch Pie

  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (4-1/2 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
  • 8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 3 medium tomatoes, peeled and sliced

  • In a large bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in sour cream. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Press dough into a 9-in. pie plate; flute edges if desired. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, bacon, green pepper and onion. Layer half of the tomatoes in crust; top with half of the mayonnaise mixture. Repeat layers.
  • Bake at 350° until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Refrigerate leftovers.

Makes your mouth water right?

As always feel free to adjust here and there for your personal tastes but this is just so good AS IS.     The dough is amazing.   Just make it, let it rest in the refrig and then press it into a pie pan.  Easy?  DEFINITELY.
