SPARK on Monday

Standard

Monday SPARK time!   What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

I was telling my hubby to be patient about something yesterday – he just wanted to get it done – maybe not the right way but the quick way.    Made me consider the whole thing about being patient.    In these times patience definitely is a VIRTUE!!!

There were a lot of quotes to choose from but this one stood out in the crowd.    It has a “sense of humor” about it but it’s REALLY true.    A great definition of patience if I ever saw one!   A lot of things that happen to us require some patience on our part but if we “go off” about them being SLOW to happen or change it takes away the SWEETNESS of achieving it in it’s OWN time.   It’s that old “COUNT TO TEN” thing that I remember my Mom telling my Dad.    He had a “short fuse” and was not a patient man – Mom reminded him of that from time to time!

I hope all of you will be patient – I think there will be rewards for us in the end……………….it just takes time.

Love, Pam

  1. You are so right about patience. Mama and papa, having lived together joyfully for 45 years, found that that alone can solve almost any glitch! But let’s get this straight, mama and papa do it, NOT me when it comes to wanting my KIBBLE! On the other hand, I am very patient getting BRUSHED.

    • Loulou I think with the exception of wanting treats and wanting to go outside, I’m pretty patient too. Mom says I act just like a two year old though when it comes to “time to come inside Teddy!”……..I whine and lay down and refuse to move – just like a kid would. So I’m a rather “impatient patient” kitty! HAHA

  2. That made me smile. Not so much the patience but the blast off. I have always been very easy going and let things that annoy me go over my head. Suddenly though I will decide I have had enough and really do blast off.
The girls with horses here used to tell newcomers not to try and take advantage of me because I would only take so much then I would blow! They would only do it once!

  3. I try to carry at least a pound of patience in my pocket(s) when I go to work…but sometimes it gets all used up before I even get much done…LOL! There needs to be a refill station somewhere there!!

I mostly am a hurry up already kind of peep, but hubby is the opposite…though be careful if he gets perturbed…so I have learned over many years that if you want something done either do it yourself, or just be patient…Hah! Don’t even try to get anything done now…with his back hurt and all…I for sure am learning about that patience thing…and so is he…though he did go to work for the afternoon; hooray, small bits of progress. We both will have to wait patiently for healing and strength.

  4. Since the Human stopped working a couple years ago, she is doing much better in the patience department, And one of the VERY few valuable aspects of the pandemic is that she has to let things take the time that they take. There’ll be movies to go to eventually, but fretting and saying HBO words will not make that day arrive any sooner. Good thought for the day, Teddy & Mom

    • Spitty my Mom says she became more patient after she retired too….she had to LEARN how to not operate on WARP SPEED like she had to at work but once she did she CALMED DOWN and sometimes she’s so relaxed I have to take her pulse to make sure she’s still among the living!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
