Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

Mom and I agree that this pandemic situation has us not knowing what day it is – and not being able to figure out where on earth the days and time has gone!    It’s weird.    It’s like yesterday was Thankful Thursday and here we are again.    We are thankful – still – to have HEALTHY humans in our house.    They continue to be super careful on the rare occasion they leave the house and they’re getting lots of fresh air thanks to ME since I ask to go outside several times a day.    I’m taking good care of them!

We are again thankful that Angel Sammy’s poem arrived in time for today’s post too.    Here it is:

Time for my POETRY Corner !!

Ready?   Hope so.    If you wrote a poem for this week’s photo please tell us you did – give us your link – we want to read your poem.    I may be busy at the Rainbow Bridge these days, but I’m never too busy to have my weekly visit here with you.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week which was to inspire you for a poem to show off today…………….followed by MY poem:

“Size Doesn’t Matter!”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©August 19, 2020

Big chapel or small

The Lord loves them all

It might hold only two

But there’s a comfortable pew

You don’t need a big room to pray

He knows what you want to say

It’s what’s in your heart that He sees

NOT whether you’re down on your knees……..

Small chapel…………….small poem.    Size really doesn’t matter – some people think if they are worshipping in one of those mega churches there’s just more power – He will hear you loud and clear when really the place doesn’t matter.   You can be sitting in a field and tell Him what you want to say.    You can be in an airplane on the way to a meeting and He will hear you.   Doesn’t have to be in a chapel, church or synagogue – He hears us ALL.    Even in this little chapel by the road…………..

Let us know if you wrote a poem – don’t forget now!     Here’s next week’s photo:

I’m not sure if people still make these fairy gardens but they sure look like magical little worlds.   You expect to see the unexpected in a photo like this don’t you!   Well you just use your imagination and come up with a poem for this photo – I’ll do the same.

Until next week – stay safe…..and happy!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Hugs and love, Angel Sammy

Thank you Angel Sammy………………………..I liked your poem this week but then I like all your poems.    Will look forward to your visit next week too……………………

Love, Teddy

    • Fairy gardens were popular a couple of years ago here but they are so cute I’m sure people who made them then still have them and maintain them. I can see them “mowing the lawns” with tiny scissors and trimming plants, etc. to keep them neat. I’ve thought about doing one too!!!!!

  3. I love Angel Sammy’s poem. And next week’s photo is going to be fun to work with, thanks to your mom for the inspiration. I see a lot of supplies for fairy gardens at Michael’s craft store. I have bought some pieces I use with The Great One with her Peppa Pigs. 🙂 XO

    • There are some adorable little “things” for fairy gardens and I’ve often thought it would be tons of fun to make one……….maybe one of these days I will. I have an old birdbath that has sprung a leak and it would be perfect to use as a fairy garden!!

  4. So the day is almost half over, and Mom just discovered she forgot to schedule our post last night. Sheesh! Anyhoo, we liked your poem, Sammy, and what your mom had to say. Our mom believes the same thing. God doesn’t care where you are when you pray. We know she is praying all the time from wherever she is for this pandemic to goe away. She did write a poem, and here is the link: https://thecatonmyhead.com/lisbeths-birthday-thankful-poetry/

  6. It has been fun reading all the different poems today and seeing how everyone has a different take on the little chapel. We enjoyed yours so much, and your words are so very true.

    Mom made a little succulent dish a few years ago, and now she wishes she had made it bigger with some of the tiny fairy elements.

    • Glad you liked our poem and you’re right – lots of WONDERFUL poems written this week. I have an old broken birdbath which I think would make a GREAT fairy garden so I might do that – maybe not until next Spring though – with cold weather coming in a couple of months I’d not want it to struggle to survive!!!!

  8. Little Church on the roadside,
    You look cold on the outside…
    But as you stand there,
    Steadily on the hillside;
    You are lit up and warm on the inside!
    Look at the glow of the morn,
    Brightening the new day;
    Which gives you hope,
    That someone might come in to pray.
    Little Church, don’t feel forlorn;
    You’re a comforting refuge;
    Though in size you are tiny;
    The inner peace you convey is huge.

    I had to look twice to make sure it wasn’t another picture of that teaser I sent in a while back…but nope it for sure isn’t…wonder where that one is?? Maybe it should be a teaser? Hah!

    And the poem you penned is very true, God looks at our hearts, the inside of us, not the outside at all. Just like that chapel, dingy and dark on the outside, but warm and bright inside!
