SPARK on Monday

47

Monday SPARK time!   What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

I ran across this one while searching for just the right thought to share today…………..gosh it’s EVER so true too which is the BEST kind of SPARK if you ask me!

I’m basically a happy person – always have been………my Mom said I was a very happy baby (of course I don’t remember that!) but my good nature has served me well.    I think it’s gotten me through the worst of times in fact.    Not that I haven’t had my share of sadness – that’s a part of life after all – just that when the dust settles I “move” back into my happy place.   I really am glad to be alive even in these uncertain times.    It’s not exactly the picture I had in  my mind of what my life would be like at this point in time but then I daresay everyone feels that way right now with so many worrisome things going on.    That’s the way LIFE is though.   Up/down and sometimes calm in between.    BUT I’m STILL HERE!

Have a POSITIVE week!   Love, Pam

Sunday Selfie Hop

51

Happy Sunday!    It’s that time again – time for Selfies on Sunday.   Our hosts at The Cat on My Head hope if you would like to join us you’ll click on the badge above and link up with everyone!

I actually have a BRAND NEW photo of me (taken two days ago) instead of the typical FLASHBACK SELFIE that I have been doing on Sundays.    Mom took a few photos of me in the last several days at last.    Unless I’m asleep I’m not very cooperative for photos but she DID catch me snoozing in this one.     I also did something I’ve NEVER done before – I hopped into my toy basket and curled up for a nap!    Who knows what I had in mind but let me say it was comfy and I stayed there well over an hour.

Yes that’s my snow sled behind the toy box.    I inherited it from Angel Sammy and I like having it out year-round.    Mom has used it as a Christmas door decoration before (with my permission).    Anyway, this is ME enjoying my toys in a new way.   Behind the basket and NEXT to my sled is my flexi-flyer red wagon – also inherited from Sammy.    Mom couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw me in my box – I NEVER sleep in there!    My toy box is behind Mom’s recliner in the family room and every single morning when we get up while Dad’s still asleep, Mom pulls the box out from behind her chair and I pull out two toys from the box and we play with them!

Mom jazzed this photo up a bit with Lunapic before making my Sunday puzzle……………

Mom used Lunapic’s “POLYGONS” art effect – I like it – I hope you do too!     We did a puzzle for you:

Click this MINI-ME of my Selfie and go to the puzzle!   GOOD LUCK!

Happy Sunday……….Teddy and Mom

Saturday in the Castle – that means BACON!

Good morning fans of bacon.    Got a good one for you this morning even though we’ve done our share of bacon casseroles – this is just a little different.    It’s also VERY yummy.

“CHARLESTON BREAKFAST CASSEROLE”

INGREDIENTS:   (MAKES EIGHT SERVINGS – GREAT FOR A GROUP OR SPECIAL OCCASION OR FOR TWO STARVING PEOPLE!)

12 slices bacon

1/4 cup butter, melted

3 cups croutons

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

6 large eggs

1-3/4 cups milk

1 bell pepper (any color) diced

1 tablespoon mustard (any type will do)

1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

  • Step 1

Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.

  • Step 2

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

  • Step 3

Melt butter in the microwave, or in a small pan on the stove over low heat. Spray a 9×12 inch baking dish with vegetable spray. Place croutons in the bottom of the dish, and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese.

  • Step 4

Crack the eggs into a bowl, whisking to break up the yolks. Add milk, peppers, mustard, salt, and pepper, and beat until well-combined. Pour over the croutons and cheese, and sprinkle with crumbled bacon.

  • Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to stand 10 minutes before serving.

DELISH?  YOU BETCHA!!   My Mom and Dad love a good casserole…..(and the leftovers!)

Have a royal Saturday!!! (with bacon)

Friendly Fill-Ins

49

Happy Friday!   Time to fill-in the blanks with out co-hosts Four-Legged Furballs and 15andMeowing.   Wanna join us???     Click the badge and link up with us!    Easy peasy……..

Know what else?   I let my Mom do the WHOLE FILL-IN this week because I thought I’d give her a little treat!   Aren’t I nice???   GO MOM GO!

1. Being a Cat Mom is a privilege.
2. I was so embarrassed when in the past I’ve gone to a party or get-together and have either been overdressed or underdressed – I almost always get it WRONG!
3. I can’t help but smile when Teddy comes to me when I call him – just like a dog!
4. Politics has gotten out of hand.

Good job Mom!    I come to you when you call because I WANT to – and because even if you just want a hug I’m there to give it to you and vice versa………sorry I don’t ALWAYS do that when we’re outside but hey – there are distractions out there and it’s hard to focus on just YOU.
Maybe next week we can SHARE Fill-Ins……I like that best!!

Love, Teddy – HAPPY FRIDAY!

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

55

HAPPY THURSDAY!   Time to be thankful for things – celebrate together that we are HERE, we are hopefully healthy, we are moving one step at a time FORWARD – and any other things that you are thankful for.     We’re super thankful here that while we’ve had some rather big storms with some hail we haven’t lost power, haven’t lost any outside plants or big trees (or limbs) and that the three of us – me, Mom and Dad – are HEALTHY.

I also always celebrate Angel Sammy’s poetic efforts and message – and sure enough – here it is!

♥♥♥

Here we are – another Thursday arrives!

I look forward to this little bit of time I have with you all every week to share some poetry.    It’s a FUN event since we are all using ONE PHOTO to come up with a poem.   Interesting what WE see compared to what our friends see in a photo isn’t it?

Here’s the poem I gave you all LAST week to use for today’s poem:

“It’s A Small World”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell      ©August 26, 2020

Tiny gardens crafted by creative minds

Do fairies exist?   Look for the signs……

Well tended plants and manicured greenery

I know fairy gardeners enjoy the scenery!

I’m sure at night when humans are asleep

With their tiny tools in hand through their gardens they creep

Trimming and snipping and watering the plants

Shooing away caterpillars and those pesky ants

At least with a tiny garden I would have no fear

That my garden would be devoured by a herd of hungry deer!

My Mom used to garden outside but the deer and other wildlife felt that if it was OUTSIDE – it was in THEIR world.    So now Mom gardens in big pots on our back deck and front porch and it’s easier to take care of AND not “raided” by criters!      One of these days I am sure she will create a fairy garden – there are so many interesting tiny plants to “populate” a tiny garden with.

Now – did you write a poem?   Did you?   Good – tell us you did and give us your link.   If you haven’t written one – why not?    Give it a try…………you might just enjoy it.

Time for me to go now but I want to remind all of you that Angels are watching……………….protecting you as best we can from afar.     Stay safe…………do the RIGHT THING.    OK?  I’ll see you next Thursday for another poem – and we’ll see what you can do with this photo as your inspiration:

Love this photo – hope you do too – let’s see what you can do with it next week in poetry form OK?   I’ll give it a whirl too.   Until then…………………..

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love from the Bridge, Angel Sammy

Thank you Angel Sammy………….you made me happy just hearing from you!   I’ll look forward to next week…………………….Love you always.
