Friendly Fill-Ins on Friday

Friday!   Fill-Ins!   Didn’t we just do this?   HAHAHA     Time is weird these days, isn’t it.    Anyway, here we are and we are ready to fill in the blanks.  If you want to do the same thing and get on the Hop just click the badge above and fill in the LINKY form – easy!

Each of our co-hosts gave us two sentences with blanks………………….Mom and I did them TOGETHER – if they are HER words they’re in RED, if they’re MY words they’re in BLUE!

1. My plans for the weekend include asking to go outside a bunch of times – that’s not unusual but I figure I’d better get out there today because probably there will be fireworks all day tomorrow!

2. I no longer enjoy fireworks.    (when I was a kid I loved them but now that I’m older they just irritate me!)
3. I’m grateful I have the freedom to set my own schedule – was one of my favorite things about retiring!.
4. LOVE (and cats!) make(s) a house a home.    (Hey Mom – you should have let ME answer this one…..I would say the same thing except for changing “cats” to “loving humans”)

So there you have it – filling in done again for another week.   I wonder what kind of sentence we’ll have to fill in next week?    Guess I’ll just have to wait and see………………..everyone please stay safe not just “virus-safe” but also “fireworks-safe” !!!

Happy Almost 4th!

Love, Teddy

  1. Thank you both for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Fireworks also irritate me. I hope you get to go out a bunch of times this weekend Teddy. XO

  2. Great Fill-Ins! Feel the same way about fireworks. I would like to see them banned. Nice to see you Teddy-Oh! I was wondering if your Mom overslept and forgot to post. Can’t ever and I mean ever imagine your Mom oversleeping!

    • HA! Mom did my fill-ins post yesterday so it was scheduled but she forgot to change the time to our usual 3AM LIVE time…..it was scheduled for the time she finished doing it yesterday – 3:41PM today! HAHAHAHAHA

    • Same here………we’ve not had a big problem with illegal fireworks out here BUT we have heard in D.C. they DO have a problem so it will be scary tomorrow night downtown. We haven’t been downtown in maybe 25 years anyway (!) and don’t intend to EVER go to a fireworks display down there. NO THANKS. Hope you all have a nice quiet weekend!!

  4. I usually hope for rain on the Fourth, but that doesn’t seem to do any good, as the idiots will still shoot off their illegal fireworks in the rain. That said… it won’t be raining anyway, just hot. Hopefully I will be able to sleep tomorrow…

    • It’s going to be 98 here today and probably the same tomorrow – there’s a REMOTE chance of a shower or two tomorrow evening…..when they say “REMOTE” it seems to actually mean “probably/maybe/possibly/who knows??” but then I think weather forecasting is one of those things where they throw a dart at a weather board and that’s that. HA! I hope you and your boys stay cool there on the Shelf!

    • YES – and we are surrounded by DRY trees after a week or so of no rain…….we worry about it a LOT. Let’s hope people act responsibly this year or at least try to be SAFE!

  5. Mostly for the last several years we just spend a peaceful 4th of July at home. Like you Pam, do not really care for fireworks anymore. I so feel for the animals and some people who do not handle the noise well. I wish more people would think of them.

    • That’s my concern….noise is upsetting and some people set fireworks off well after kids’ bedtime – I know some parents have to deal with frightened kids and animals – fortunately for us Teddy watches out the window and doesn’t seem to be scared. I especially hate it when I’m already in bed asleep and someone decides it’s time to do fireworks!

  6. We are far enough away from other people that fireworks don’t bother us. Eric used to like t sit in the window and watch them in the distance across the river.

  7. Great fill ins. Have a great holiday weekend. We have fireworks really close now. Next door. Older son moved in as dad passed and he has been doing fireworks for his grandkids. He’s very nice but; Garfield gets terrified everytime he hears them.

  8. No one hear enjoys the fireworks other than watching them on the TV – than you can see the pretty colors and lower the volume:) We hope it is a quiet Fourth for you and for us, when it comes to the boomers.

    • We had neighbors behind us doing fireworks last night – happily only lasted an hour………but noisy!!!!! Hoping for a quiet 4th – we think maybe they did their fireworks LAST night because they were going ELSEWHERE for the 4th!!

  9. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! This here human is exactly the same way when it comes to fireworks. I used to love them as a kid, but now I get rather annoyed of them. Perhaps this is because my neighbors love to set them off (illegally and as complete amateurs) in their yards, and it breaks my heart to think of all the scared wildlife and other frightened furbabies, both outdoors and indoors. We hope you all have a happy and safe Independence Day!

    • It seems that everyone had to put up with extra noise this year from fireworks. Mom says people were bored and wanted to let off steam so went NUTS buying fireworks this year. Huge waste of money!!!!

    • I got lots of outs and I didn’t wander…..I found a nice spot in the dirt and lay there in the shade and felt the breeze up from the woods……….Mom and Dad didn’t have to chase after me or wonder where I was behind the trees. See? I can be good if I wanna!!

    • Yes it does……..even though Teddy is not the most cuddly cat there is but if I pull him up in my lap (not easy with a 23 lb. cat) he will stay and “allow” (!) me to pet him for quite a long time………then it’s OFF AND RUNNING again. Sigh. So much for lap cat!
