Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Standard

YAY!  Friday is here!   Time for us to join the Blog Hop that lets you learn more about your friends just by filling in the blanks in sentences!   Our co-hosts each provide us two sentences and we just fill in the blanks – how easy can it be??!!!   If you’d like to join us – click the badge above and fill in the linky form!!

Mom and I shared the filling in duties this week………….if the words are MINE they’re in GREEN if they’re Mom’s words they’re in BLUE.

1. I almost caught a skink today – he was at the bottom of a tree and I snuck up on him but he saw me at the last second and scooted out of reach – pooey!.
2. I finally have begun purging “stuff” from the basement storage – a flood in the basement MAY HAVE encouraged me to do so!!
3. I find hunting skinks, chasing squirrels, and napping in a pile of leaves very interesting.   (not necessarily in that order!)
4. I have my doubts about the people who think wearing a mask is stupid and unnecessary.

OK Mom – we did it!   We got the fill-ins done!    Now I can go take a nap and you can get back to whatever it is that humans do when we’re napping.    Thanks to our co-hosts for this fun weekly HOP………like I said, we sure learn a lot about each other this way.

Happy Friday!!

We’re done right Mom?   Good – Nite Nite!

Hugs, Teddy

P.S.   HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY AUNT CAROL !!!!

  1. Wearing a mask is a small thing to do.

Lockdown is being eased here and some people are going crazy – and not in a good way. Some of our beauty spots are struggling to clear the rubbish left behind. 😦

  2. I agree with #4. After seeing on the news yesterday all the people who piled onto the beaches with barely 6 inches between them let alone 6 feet, I despair of them! they all seem to think restrictions don’t apply to them. As for the rubbish they left behind, it was appalling. I am definitely in no rush to go back into the world.
    Happy birthday to Auntie Carol!

    • We’re with you! It angers me that people are so cavalier about the virus – really – David and I will continue to STAY SAFE. We live rather solitary lives anyway but never more than NOW do we appreciate how that is actually protecting us. I saw those photos of the beaches there – crazy but then they look like that in Florida and California too. Amazing isn’t it? Thanks for wishing my sister a happy birthday – #82!

  3. Enjoyed the fill-ins. Happy Birthday to your Auntie Carol. Mom said she’s going walking. No restrictions on that. XX

    • Good for your Mom – that’s right – walking is GOOD and makes us feel energized! I walked and ran all over my yard this morning – it was nice and wet from last night’s rain and Mom FORCED me to submit to a “towel dry” before I was allowed in the house! Thanks for wishing my Mom’s sister a happy birthday – that will make her SMILE BIG.

    • You’re right – everyone needs to remember it’s not just “all about us” with masks – we are staying safe ourselves AND protecting everyone else. GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

p.s. thanks for the wishes for my big sister ❤

    • Teddy says he knows that frustration – so near and yet so far. At least Teddy is chasing the skinks in person out there…..they are just about 200% faster than he is!!! Thanks for the birthday wishes for Carol – hopefully she will see them when she reads our blog today!

  4. Happy Birthday to your Aunt Carol! That is a beautiful photo of your mom and her sister. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad we don’t have skinks around here- I hope you get one 🙂 Decluttering feels good even if we are forced into it. Have a nice weekend. XO

    • I like the decluttering Mom has done in the basement – I have more room to run around and play!!!!!! Glad you like that photo of Mom and Auntie Carol – I think that was the two of them on Carol’s birthday in 2016.

  5. Happy Happy Birthday to Auntie Carol…
OMCs Pam was the basement recently flooded. YIKES
Teddy may I point out that a ‘t’ in the place of the ‘k’ in skink spells STINK and blah that would be a taste hard to get out of your mouth.
I agree about the masks. As of 5 pm today the they are required state wide; however, there are about 5 counties saying the will not comply. Oh dear me.

    • We saw the situation on our news this morning Miss Cecilia – they talked about N. Carolina and how they NEED to have everyone cooperate but people are feeling “the power” lately and like they should do what they want and not what is smart. Sigh. Thanks for the birthday wishes for Mom’s sister Carol. As for the basement flood – a water line for the refrigerator burst in the middle of the night when nobody knew and about 1/5 of the basement had an inch of water in it. Dad used his shop vac and got about 10 gallons then the repair guys got more……….things are OK now but we threw away a LOT OF STUFF. No more cardboard boxes for storage – we’ve gone PLASTIC!

  6. Woohoo…happy birthday to your auntie! 🎉 We hope you do a special song of purrs for her, Teddy. Our mom is with your mom on the mask thing. We just don’t get why it’s so hard for people to do something so simple that could save people. Have a super weekend. P.S. They tell me purging is good for the soul. Don’t let your mom work too hard on the basement.

    • She does tend to get a little carried away but Dad is a packrat so somehow they manage to go “middle of the road” with the purge thing!!! HAHA I know my Mom’s sister – Aunt Carol – is having a great birthday although this is the first one in a long time my Mom hasn’t been with her for. They usually go out to lunch or something fun. She lives in W. Virginia and we live in Virginia so it’s about a 2 hour drive there. Anyway, they will see each other soon when it’s more safe to do that.

  7. Happy Birthday to your Aunt. Teddy, it sounds like you have busy days:) I agree about the mask. We are protecting others when we wear one too because we could have the virus and not be showing any symptoms. We all have to look out for each other.

  9. Oh no, that flooded basement is no fun at all – we had that happen here a few years ago. Lots of work and lots of cleaning out. And somehow all that clutter seems to reappear in little time.

Thanks for all your kind words to welcome Misty home.

    • The basement is almost back to being Teddy’s “apartment” now………he wasn’t happy with all the activity down there – he has all his STUFF there. He is running around in all the extra space now just loving it! I think it’s a bit of a minor miracle the way Misty is home – I just wish the time she’d spent away hadn’t been so miserable for her but she looks SO HAPPY now. All of you do………

      Love, Pam

    • Our unfinished basement is like an “attic” – all kinds of things collected there and a lot of it was in boxes………which of course got WET! We now have less STUFF and more plastic storage boxes!

  10. Wishing many happy returns of the day to your Aunt!

Great answers, and here’s what i tell people who question why i wear a mask. It’s not about me. If i get sick with anything at all, Covid, flu, even a simple cold, i could give it to others, including some of the very immune compromised people i work with and for, and that would be unconscionable. The mask is to protect them, because it’s not just about me, it’s about how many resources i would use to get better, it’s about me missing work and therefore clients who have no other help having to do without, and about possibly getting them ill.

  12. Teddy, you and your mom always have such purrfect ways of filling in the fill-ins! Your answer to #1 reminded me of the neighbor cat as well as other kitties in the neighborhood who visit my yard often. They like to catch and kill rodents in my yard, and sometimes they leave me gifts. This morning I woke up to a mouse head on my back patio. The neighborhood kitties sure know how to make me feel loved. Purrs!
