HAPPY FRIDAY! Time for that fun Hop that’s co-hosted by our friends at 15andMeowing and Four-Legged Furballs. Join us by clicking the badge and hooking up with the LINKY Form. It’s so much fun – TRUST ME.
Each of our co-hosts gives us TWO sentences with blanks and we fill them in. Ready? You should know that this week I let my Mom fill in ALL the blanks – I was more interested in napping than in writing. GO MOM GO! Her words are in RED.
1. Having rainy days motivates me to clean out drawers and cupboards……………. (can’t go outside – might as well be productive!).
2. I put salt on just about everything – yeah I know it’s not good for you!
3. When it comes to special occasions, I don’t cut corners. (our 30th anniversary is in September and we are going to a VERY ritzy Inn – wouldn’t normally spend that kind of money)
4. Never forget to be thankful and polite.
Good job Mom……………now I can relax and know that the fill-ins are done by an expert filler-inner!!! I’ll take a turn next Friday – I promise………really…………………zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Happy Friday! Hugs, Teddy
ha! seems a lot of blogvilers are salty ;o) I hope your anniversary event will be a wonderful one!!!

Pam, that” I don’t cut corners” is a totally new expression to me. I thin it means you don’t think how much it costs, right or not.

Kristiina

That is absolutely correct Kristiina…..cutting corners is a “shortcut” and some things should not be treated that way…..they are worth whatever it takes without taking a shortcut!

We are going to a beautiful country Inn for our anniversary. It think it will be amazing to allow ourselves to be spoiled for one night. Hopefully NEXT anniversary we can either go to Maine OR take that cruise we want to take!

Good answers for your fill ins.
Ivor takes pills for high blood pressure so I very rarely use salt. I must have it on tomatoes fresh from my greenhouse though.

Salty fresh tomatoes – PERFECT! Many years ago my Aunt used to serve me a fresh garden tomato sprinkled with sugar – I thought that was weird until I tried it. LOL Yummy!

Always love seeing your answers to the fill-ins! 1: with all the rain we’ve had, you should have perfectly cleaned out closets and cabinets! 2: Use pink salt! It’s VERY good for you! 3: You two are going to have a great time celebrating your 30th! 4: perfect advice! It costs nothing!

1. Having rainy days de-motivates me. We have far too many of them where I live.
2. I put salt on eggs and potatoes when I have potatoes. I rely on salt already the rest of foods.
3. When it comes to my children, when necessary… or grandchild or Katie, I don’t cut corners.
4. Never forget to be grateful for each day and thankful for your blessings.

Well done filling in!! I realized when I actually thought about it – that I don’t put salt on EVERYTHING – lots of things have their OWN salt and it’s mostly stuff like tomatoes, chicken, potatoes, potato salad and steak for the most part. Anyway, I will never cut corners for anyone or anything that I love either! Happy Friday………………speaking of rain – we have tons of it since last night – it’s raining hard right now in fact! 😦

Good answers.I try to limit the amount of salt I use because high blood pressure runs in my family, but I do love tomatoes with salt. Have a great Friday!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I recently read that table salt isn’t bad for you, it is the sodium in canned and packaged foods so enjoy your salt. I am glad you found a nice place to celebrate a special anniversary. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

We have pink salt which is better for you than regular stuff but Mom forgets to use THAT. I’ll put it on the table in the dining room so she won’t forget!!!!!

Love your photo, Teddy, and your mom did a super job on the fill-ins, especially #4. We are happy that your mom found a super fancy place for her and your dad’s anniversary, since they had to cancel their Maine trip. Mom and Dad are planning to go to The Inn at Little Washington for their 50th. Only three more years to go. Hope you get some outside time today! My Mom and Dad looked at the Inn at Little Washington as a possible spot for their anniversary BUT chose Inn at Willow Grove instead……….Your Mom and Dad won’t be too far from my house when they go to Little Washington.

Teddy, your mom did a fantastic job with the fill-ins! I really should use rainy days to clean some cabinets and drawers. I usually use rainy days to read, write, and draw, but my cabinets and drawers could really use some attention. Purrs!

I have low blood pressure. My doc says to get more salt but not too much. (Whatever does that mean?) I love salt on top of foods so I only use a little in cooking. There are some like potatoes and tomatoes that require salt to taste good.

I agree – both of those (potatoes and tomatoes) REQUIRE salt. Definitely! 🙂

Your mom’s answers are excellent! It’s not that salt isn’t good for you, in fact, our bodies need a certain amount, it’s that we often get way too much because we eat processed foods that have it added.
One trick for cutting down on salt, believe it or not, is to quit using it in the kitchen and just use it at the table. When the food is cooked without salt, and you just sprinkle a little on top right where it hits your taste buds directly, you actually use less than when you use it in the recipe and then sprinkle more on top. It sounds counterintuitive, but a scientific study years ago proved it.

I never use salt when cooking………….at least I can say that…..and we don’t eat many processed foods but I just HAVE to have salt on some things like potatoes and tomatoes. Just GOTTA! 🙂
