Happy Thankful Thursday and my first thankful is to Brian for hosting this Hop every week. More than ever before it’s important to think about and share what we’re thankful for. I continue to be thankful that my Mom and Dad and other family and friends so far are healthy. We pray that all of you are too!
I’m also thankful that Angel Sammy sent us his Thursday Poetry post…………….complete with a poem that goes with the photo he gave us last week. Here it is!
♥♥♥
Hi Friends! Time to Rock Some Poetry Together!
We get together every Thursday after we’re Thankful with Brian in order to share some poems that we have written this past week – based on the photos that I give you the week before. You get a whole week to come up with a poem to share with all of us – and today is no exception!
I hope the photo I gave you inspired you to write a poem – even if you aren’t USED to writing poems – you CAN do it. Poems take all sorts of formats including not rhyming. That’s right – doesn’t even have to rhyme…..just has to be ABOUT what you see/feel when you look at the photo. Here’s last week’s photo inspiration and if you wrote a poem about this photo for today – let us know in comments!!
“Here’s Pie In Your Eye!”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell May 6, 2020
Johnny was so sure that he could wipe out the competition
He loved pie and thought cranberry pie was excellent ammunition!
So he entered the contest and took his place at the table
He felt ready, very hungry, and TOTALLY able!
The stack of pies looked HUGE and he started to wonder
Would anyone notice if he disappeared and this table he went UNDER?!
Too late – the Timekeeper was about to call “Ready, Set, Go”
Then he glanced at the trophy again and felt that warm glow
His tummy was ready – he’d gobble down that pie
The whistle blew to start and Johnny said “Here’s mud in your eye!”
As he gobbled away he just knew he could do it
That kept him going and that stack of pies – he went right through it!
The Timekeeper yelled “TIME!” and the contest was done
With no cranberry pies left in front of him, Johnny KNEW he had won!
My Mom loves cranberry pie but even SHE couldn’t eat a whole pie. Kids have “elastic” tummies though and can eat an amazing amount of food. I have to wonder if Johnny got a tummy ache after his win but I think the trophy would more than make up for a bit of upset tummy!
Now for next week I have what I hope is another fun and inspirational photo for you to write a poem about……..When I saw this photo (actually it’s a wallpaper bit of digital art) I thought it was rather magical. All sorts of possibilities – and I also knew immediately what my poem would be about. How about you? Enjoy writing something for this one!
I really do love this…………………….I hope you do too. I’ll meet you here next week same time and place and we’ll see what we’ve come up with shall we? Meanwhile please stay safe, stay healthy, and know that your Bridge Angels are watching over you.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love, Light, Health, Safety

Loved your MESS poem – imagine his Mom trying to get those stains out and the poor sponsors trying to clean up all the mess from the contest – should have just been whipped cream pies – easier to clean up anyway!

Another fabulous poem from our favorite poet, Angel Sammy. Mom says that she’s never had cranberry pie but bet it would be super yummy. She wrote a poem, which you have already read; though, she was a day late. Next week’s photo looks super fun. No idea yet what our poem will be.
