Sunday Selfie Hop

Hello Sunday Hoppers!    This wonderful Selfie Hop is hosted by our buddies at The Cat On My Head and if you click on their badge – you can join in – just use the linky form.   Easy Peasy.

Mom took some photos of me yesterday (yes I know it’s unbelievable isn’t it).   Anyway, one of the photos was the best LASER demonstration I’ve EVER done – she said my lasers were on HIGH BEAM for sure.    The other photo was from upstairs and no lasers involved – in fact you can barely SEE me in the photo but that’s the one she used for my JAZZED UP selfie.   Here are both photos before she messed around with them using

Magnificent laser photo huh?????

There I am in the foyer – actually waiting for my Dad to come out of the powder room (no he doesn’t use powder but Mom insists on calling that room a powder room) – and he’s about to take me outside for a cruise – I’m just WAITING WAITING WAITING.    This is the photo Mom jazzed up for my Selfie Puzzle.   Ought to be a challenge huh?????

WOWZA – this  is Lunapic’s “BRAVE” filter and man oh man – I’m thinking the puzzle will be a challenge to do.  GOOD LUCK GANG and Happy Sunday!

Here’s the puzzle for those of you who are gluttons for punishment (hahahaha) – just click the mini-ME

Bakin’ with Bacon and the King

Welcome to Goodies With Bacon!

Won’t you join me in the castle kitchen here in the land of bacon?    Baconia is the place to be if you like bacon like we do and every Saturday I share a recipe with you that has this PAWSOME item in it.    It can be a side dish or main dish or dessert but whatever it is – it has bacon as an ingredient.    Today’s recipe has a little HEAT in it – hot peppers……………some people love them and others stay away from them – in this recipe you really could “take ’em or leave ’em”…………..but it sure is tasty stuff with a bowl of chili.

Bacon Cheddar Jalapeno Cornbread

  • 5 slices bacon
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 extra large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, diced

  • Step 1

Fry bacon in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate; reserve remaining bacon grease in skillet. Crumble bacon.

  • Step 2

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place skillet with bacon grease in oven.

  • Step 3

Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk milk, buttermilk, butter, and eggs in another bowl; stir milk mixture into flour mixture until just combined. Batter will be slightly lumpy. Fold in Cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers. Allow batter to rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.

  • Step 4

Pour batter into hot skillet and sprinkle with crumbled bacon, gently pressing bacon into batter.

  • Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.

YES INDEEDY – it does sound good………………spicy and delicious………………….and my Mom and Dad who do love cornbread with their chili say this is the perfect compliment.   I must admit as a cat (even though I’m a King) I don’t care for spicy.    Humans are crazy for it sometimes though – apparently!

Humans do the craziest things…………..

Have a super weekend everyone and I’ll look for you back here in my kitchen NEXT Saturday with another baconized recipe for you to try………………………..

Hugs, King Teddy

Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Hello everybody – time for me and Mom to do our bestest job filling in the blanks our co-hosts, 15andmeowing and Four-legged Furballs gave us to work on this week.    Every week they each supply two sentences for us to complete – it’s a cool way of getting to know more about each other isn’t it!    If you click the badge above, you will FLY over to 15andmeowing where you can join up with us using the LINKY form!

Guess who is the only filler-inner this week – ME ME ME ME!  I thought I’d go ahead and dive back in to full possession of fill-in-the-blanks at least for this week.   Maybe next week I’ll let Mom have a whack at it too.   Here’s this week’s sentences and I filled in the blanks with ORANGE!

  1.  I would like to improve my psychic skills.  (If I did, I could be in the right place at the right time for treats and knowing when Mom needs a special hug)
  2.  My favorite treat is Delectables Squeeze-ups!!.
  3.  My current to-do list includes continuing to behave when I’m allowed outside so that I won’t have to wear my harness and leash – so far so good – I stick close to Mom and Dad and I intend to KEEP it that way!
  4. I finally got my Dad to put a long stick under the couch and pull out all my springs, mice, and ping pong balls that I ACCIDENTALLY put there!

There – I did pretty good didn’t I?   Like I said, next week I’ll share with Mom or let her do the whole thing depending on the sentences…………….I mean it’s really NOT “all about me” around here – it’s about me and Mom sharing!

Speaking of sharing – I just have to brag a little bit about my Mom………………….she shared a very old poem she’d written with her friend Doctor Phoebe Chi (an amazing physician and poet as well as the lady who makes gorgeous sea glass jewelry)…………..and Miss Phoebe asked if she could publish it on her blog.   Mom said YES…………..and there’s a link below to the poem on her blog.   Mom is thrilled…..we admire Dr. Phoebe so much and to have her want to put Mom’s poem (which fits these times pretty well!) on her blog made us happy.

Keeping Your Faith

Big Hugs to all of you AND to Dr. Phoebe!

Love, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

YAY – Thursday is here and time to share our thankfuls for the week – if you’d like to join us – click the badge above and link up…………………’s also Angel Sammy’s Poetic Thursday but that’s later…………..for now, I will repeat what I’ve been thankful for since the beginning of this roller coaster of a virus.    So far, Mom, Dad and I are healthy.   Mom and Dad are doing all the things we’ve been told they need to do to stay safe.   Hopefully they WILL stay safe and so will you!    We’ve seen people gathering in huge crowds and wondered “what are they thinking??”………….but everyone has a mind of their own and will do what they want.   My Mom and Dad are doing what seems to be the SAFEST.   They aren’t in a hurry to see Angel Sammy until “it’s TIME” to.

Speaking of Angel Sammy here’s his email which I received this morning from his laptop at the Rainbow Bridge………

Hello Poetic Friends……glad to spend a little time with you today!

We’ll share poetry – whatever you wrote with last week’s photo as inspiration – please let us know if you wrote a poem and give us your link so we can read it.    I keep hoping more of you who visit will DIVE IN the poetry pool and write a poem….might be for the first time – or not – but give it a try.   I bet you will be VERY PROUD of yourself and I know I will be proud of you too.

We angels have been keeping watch over all of you – it’s hard for us to see the confusion down there with rules and what humankind is willing to do to keep themselves safe as well as who has decided to just pretend it’s not happening and instead carry on as usual.    Our fear for you is that this virus will roar back like a lion………we hope not!    But please do take care of yourselves – the Bridge is a beautiful place but don’t be in a BIG HURRY to get here!   OK?   OK!  Now let’s do some poetry.

Here’s the photo I gave you to write a poem about last week……………followed by MY poem.

“No Thanks!”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    ©May 27, 2020

Some people long to touch the sky

Living like birds in trees on high

Buying a home on the 50th floor

Would certainly cause my heart rate to soar!

Cats like heights but this is a bit much

I like my paws on green grass with a gentle touch

Concrete and glass soaring high up in the air

Eye to eye with passengers in planes I’m sure they would stare!

There’s something to be said for having a view

But I just wouldn’t feel SAFE above Floor #2 !!

HAHA………….well maybe a little higher than the second floor but not that much – Mom and I talked about it and decided maybe as high as the 15th floor but no higher.    She’s been a lot higher in a hotel room with one of these see thru balconies and she thought it wouldn’t bother her to be out on it but it was (her words) “JUST TOO WEIRD”.     Well I guess we all have our limitations right?

Now here’s your photo for next week – you have a whole week to craft a poem to share based on this photo so start thinking now!

I love this photo……… know when I’m looking for photos for our poetic fun there are SO many photos to choose from no matter what I THINK I have in mind – the “right one” always surprises me when I see it.  I know instantly it’s the one.     Well that happened today.    I hope you have fun with this one – I have tons of ideas already!

If you wrote  a poem for the photo from last week – please let us know and give us your link OR write it out in our comments – we want to know where your imagination took you……….and we’ll be anxious to see NEXT week how THIS photo inspires you.

Meanwhile please continue to stay safe………….do what the experts are telling you that you NEED to do to remain safe……………it’s not worth the risk……………….

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love and Light, Angel Sammy

Thank you for visiting all of us again this week Angel Sammy.    I think everyone enjoys reading your poetry and seeing you – I know I certainly do!!!!

Hugs and love, Teddy

Teaser Tell All

Ready for the scoop on yesterday’s Teaser????

Hello Students…………..may we Professors say that we were VERY PROUD when so many of you were RIGHT on yesterday’s Teaser.    However there was only ONE FIRST RIGHT and we’ll give you that info in a few minutes.

Meanwhile, welcome to Wednesday.

First things first………………..we had TWO students who were super quick to comment this morning so TWO FIRST COMMENTERS…………………

Sharon (Friends Furever) and Cecilia (Down Home In NC)

And both of you get one of these little beauties ALL your own!

I was one of TWO First Commenters on the Teaser post of May 26, 2020….I’m so proud (and fast!).

Here’s the photo from yesterday which was courtesy of our overworked, underpaid, GRAPHICS DEPARTMENT………..

This was a rather spectacular Teaser photo but it wasn’t long before the RIGHT GUESSES started flooding in – however we think this is quite an amazing place with a super interesting history.   It’s Fort Wilhelmstein in Germany and here are a LOT of photos of it and more information on it’s history back to the 18th Century if you CLICK RIGHT HERE  !      Fascinating………………

So who was the lucky soul who was our FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on this gem of a Teaser??????

Da Phenny and Da Nelly of Easy Weimaraner !!!

WOW….is it just me or has our class become VERY large lately?????

You boys and your Mama get this fabulous badge for your hard work and SMARTNESS!

I was FIRST RIGHT GUESSER on the Teaser post of May 26, 2020 and we’re so proud to be SMARTIES!!!

There were a pile of you who guessed right on this one – and every one of you gets one of these:

I was RIGHT with my guess on the Teaser of May 26, 2020 BUT I was NOT FIRST!!! Darn!

Then of course if you totally blew it (I mean guessed incorrectly…….) you get a GREENIE:

I was WRONG with my guess on the Teaser of May 26, 2020…..well…..there’s always NEXT week!

“I think I need new glasses……I can’t see that well…….that’s MY excuse and I’m sticking with it!”

So the Cheer Team is here to do THEIR thing………………..ready?

Golly gee that was a whopper
Blow that whistle and call a copper!
We had TWO First Commenters which wasn’t so bad
Remember the time we had 5 – the most we’ve ever had?
Our FIRST RIGHT GUESSER was no surprise
Da Phenny that Weim with the dreamy eyes!!
That’s it for this week so we’ll say “so long”
Now we’ll go to the pub and join the throng!

Thanks ladies……………………enjoy yourselves and don’t do anything WE wouldn’t do.

“Does that mean do whatever you want but just don’t get caught” ?

HAHA very funny……………….you may go to the end of the cafeteria line!    Let’s head on over now shall we??????

Hello Students………congrats to winners and “sorry about that” to losers – we’ll give you a good lunch and that will help!!

Enjoy your lunch students then pop on the bus for HOME!  See you next week!
