SPARK and Reminder

Standard

Monday is here again………………..and it’s time to SHARE A SPARK.  What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

Tough times right now for lots of folks………..many are out of work due to the virus for one thing but there are a LOT of reasons that people are at loose ends.    Getting together with friends in person is tough.    We’re relying on the internet to keep us more together than we would be otherwise.    I know I’m visiting a lot of new blogs – kind of stretching my circle of daily visits a bit.    I’m retired so not missing work (thank heavens) but still, I want to be BUSY so I don’t have to think about the state of things right now.    I’m staying positive though.  That’s just who I am.

This is a time when sharing a SPARK is probably even more important than EVER…………….don’t you think?

These two know what they’re talking about don’t they.    They usually do (!).     Right now it’s hard not to worry but as we already know, worrying doesn’t change things.    Maybe it’s time to look around and find all the good stuff.    That’s what I’m trying to do.   Part of the good stuff is staying in touch (even if it’s not as CLOSE as I wish it was) with friends and family.    Blogging is doing that for sure.   We’ve had this blog for almost 9 years (next month will be 9).    I’m glad in MANY ways I started but even more glad that I’m still here – it’s times like these you’re happy to have friends!

Me in 2000 with the little ginger kitten who was the inspiration for this blog!   Angel Sammy.

Safe Hugs, Pam

Angel Sammy and Teddy remind all of you students at their Tuesday Teaser Geography Class here on the blog that you’d better be in class tomorrow to guess where the photo they show you was taken…….good luck!

  2. I SO thankful that you began blogging, too. You’ve brought so much happiness and encouragement to my life, both with your posts, our in-person visits AND your daily emails. It is best to stay busy right now as much as we can. Thanks for the Spark!

    • What a kind thing to say…..This blog is another “arm” of my personality and my honest positivity. I had so much fun bringing Sammy “to life” originally and of course now Teddy….but beyond that, blogging just makes me happy and knowing it makes others happy too is – well – very gratifying!!! Now is the time that blogging makes more sense than ever – social distancing may be in effect but through our blogs, we are connecting all the time with our friends – old and new. You’re a sweetheart.

      Love, Pam

How lucky we all are to have this way to connect. You know your Spark is a great one from my perspective. I am a worrier and it is so true that worrying does stop you from enjoying the good. Lots of good, lots of funny and understanding going on with blogging people right now. Very thankful for all of them! Thankful for your blog Angel Teddy, Teddy and Mom!

    • Hi dear friend!! I really was thinking yesterday that there are SOOOO many people who are blogging these days – not just a way of sharing fun things but also finding a “happy” for themselves in just going outside of themselves for a while every day to see what’s around. And there’s truly a LOT around – every kind of blog imagineable although I tend to pretty much stick with the wonderful world of animals. Thank you by the way for saying you enjoy visiting us because we LOVE that you do. I also think this SPARK blog on Mondays is a super way of making an effort to start off with a thought that you can look back on as your week drags on and on…..especially these days. Everyone is trying hard to be upbeat and hopeful and if you have an issue with depression, worry, anger, etc. it really does help. I’m a very positive kind of girl but once in a while even I need a battery re-charge. LOL Anywho – just keep on visiting us – I know Cecilia would agree with me!!!

      Love you……..Pam and Baby Bear

          • Thanks but Pam it really is you that is doing the good thing. I feel so much better starting my morning with you, Cecilia, Katty, Ellen, and so many more that post something happy. I have been thinking about posting during these tough times. But it is like I am at a loss for words. I am working on it. Maybe a Sparks post or Fill-Ins.

          • You will know if and when you reach the point you want to blog ANYTHING. Which actually is one of my favorite things about blogging – while at this point I am an every day blogger, I may not always feel perky and ready for action – I’m getting ELDERLY you know (tee hee) – but if I should cut back I will ALWAYS keep it light and happy because that is ME. I couldn’t be something I’m not. Honestly I think you would enjoy searching for a SPARK on Mondays – that’s a truly FUN and uplifting thing and honestly when I’m looking at quotes just READING THEM to find one gets my juices flowing!!! Amazing what just READING something can do for the mood and I know that’s why SPARKS is so much fun for everyone who does them on Mondays. Anyway, post when you’re ready and IF you’re ready…………………….<3 ❤

  6. Definitely, this is so true. Linus and Charlie Brown hit the nil on the head. So we must try and keep ourselves occupied and not fussing over what will happen. It’s going to happen whether we worry or not…try and be happy…a difficult task but worth it.

  8. It is very hard not to dwell on the bad stuff now, but it is also a reminder that we have plenty of time to stop and smell the roses and let the stress go.

  9. Charlie Brown and Linus definitely know what they are talking about. But it is hard not to worry, as I really don’t want the bad stuff to happen. Anyhoo, we are doing our best to follow the rules and stay healthy. Know you are doing the same. Sending lots of love, Janet and the Kitties Blue clan
