Happy Tuesday students………we realized this morning we might be the only school for miles and miles that is still holding classes !    Time to have some fun……let’s get started shall we?

Uhoh…..I’m gonna be in twouble for being late…..my bike wouldn’t start!

First let’s show you the rules – remember to follow them – no taking the easy way out class.

And your badges up for grabs:

I sure want one of these Spring badges……!

Today’s photo is courtesy of our hard working Graphics Department.     We are having a tough time fooling you lately class no matter how tough we THINK the Teaser photo will be.   Maybe this time we will at least give you a CHALLENGE to figure it out.    Ready?????

BRING IT ON!

Teaser Photo Security – please report to Geography Classroom with this week’s photo!

Here’s today’s photo Professors!

There you have it…………………..we actually rethought our previous comment about this being a TOUGHIE and it might in fact be an EASY…………..what do you think?    Ready to guess?   Good – go for it.  Maybe you’ll be FIRST or maybe you won’t but you’ll be RIGHT – you could win a badge!  OH BOY!

Alright class – put your brains in gear and figure this out!  OR ELSE!

You don’t want Sarge upset with you so get to work class…………now if you’d like to have some lunch to THINK better, head to the cafeteria – but if you feel you’re ready to tackle the photo now, you can work in class then go to lunch.   Just make sure you don’t miss your bus for home!    Heaven forbid you have to spend the night in the school because it’s locked up!

WHAT????  I don’t wanna be here all night!

Just FYI, the Cheerleading Squad is practicing social distancing today by staying home.   Actually they just weren’t in the mood to show up to school so in order to avoid them going on strike, we’re letting them get away with it today BUT they promise to be back tomorrow to cheer on the winners and BOO HOO for the losers!

LUNCH IS SERVED !

SPARK and Reminder

Standard

Monday is here again………………..and it’s time to SHARE A SPARK.  What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

Tough times right now for lots of folks………..many are out of work due to the virus for one thing but there are a LOT of reasons that people are at loose ends.    Getting together with friends in person is tough.    We’re relying on the internet to keep us more together than we would be otherwise.    I know I’m visiting a lot of new blogs – kind of stretching my circle of daily visits a bit.    I’m retired so not missing work (thank heavens) but still, I want to be BUSY so I don’t have to think about the state of things right now.    I’m staying positive though.  That’s just who I am.

This is a time when sharing a SPARK is probably even more important than EVER…………….don’t you think?

These two know what they’re talking about don’t they.    They usually do (!).     Right now it’s hard not to worry but as we already know, worrying doesn’t change things.    Maybe it’s time to look around and find all the good stuff.    That’s what I’m trying to do.   Part of the good stuff is staying in touch (even if it’s not as CLOSE as I wish it was) with friends and family.    Blogging is doing that for sure.   We’ve had this blog for almost 9 years (next month will be 9).    I’m glad in MANY ways I started but even more glad that I’m still here – it’s times like these you’re happy to have friends!

Me in 2000 with the little ginger kitten who was the inspiration for this blog!   Angel Sammy.

Safe Hugs, Pam

Angel Sammy and Teddy remind all of you students at their Tuesday Teaser Geography Class here on the blog that you’d better be in class tomorrow to guess where the photo they show you was taken…….good luck!

Sunday Selfie Hop

Standard

Hello Sunday Selfie Hoppers!    Time to strut your stuff.   Make sure and click on the badge above and link up if you haven’t already.   Our hosts are anxious to see you and so is everyone else who hops on Sundays.    Thank you Kitties Blue for making Sunday so much fun every week with the Hop.

I’ve got a FLASHBACK Selfie for you today – I do a lot of those………..kind of fun to see ME a year or two ago on this same date (or close to it anyway).     Let me see what I’ve got for today!

Here we go – how about this little gem?    This photo was taken March 28, 2017.   I’d learned the fine art of sleeping on Mom and Dad’s bed……………in my “signature position” too I might add!   Gosh I look so little in this photo……….!    The quilt is one of the ones my Auntie Carol made for my Mom.

I doubt Mom ever made a puzzle out of this one – so let’s see what we can do for you……………………

LUNAPIC didn’t let us down on this one – WOW – this is the “GAUGUIN” Art Effect and Mom even toned it down a bit – it was EYE-BLINDING before she eased up on the intensity!    Well if you’d like to try this in puzzle form……….here you are:

CLICK the MINI-ME painting and good luck!!

HAPPY SUNDAY!!   Keep smiling………..

Love, Teddy

Bakin’ with Bacon And The King!

Standard

Hello Loyal Subjects of the Land of Baconia!   I – your King – am here to make something yummy for you to copy!

I aim to find some delicious treats for you that have EVERYTHING to do with enjoying our favorite THING here in Bacon-land……………………..BACON!    My recipes always have that ingredient in them and even more yummy stuff to make these recipes SCRUMMY (that’s UK-talk for scrumptious).    Today – a really good little snack – binge-watching TV lately?    Put a plate of these by your side and they’ll be gone before you know it.   Watching a sporting thing on the tube?    Put a stack of these on your side table and you’ll not be sorry you made them!    Why the name?   Well these little pies fit quite nicely in your hand…….how HANDy!!!

BACON HAND PIES

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pkg pre-made pie crust (2 crusts)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (or more – to taste)
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 green onions, stems only
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp dill
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 egg

Note:   The spices are not totally necessary – or you can add your own – I didn’t have parsley flakes or dill so I made these with garlic and onion powder – Honestly I think whatever your favorite spices are could be in this recipe considering the other ingredients!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place parchment on a cookie sheet and set aside.

  2. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream and spices until well combined. Stir in bacon, cheese and green onions.

  3. Unroll the pie crusts and cut out 16 circles using a 4″ biscuit cutter. Roll together any leftover pie crust pieces to get enough pastry to reach 15 or 16 circles.

  4. Top each circle of crust with a tablespoonful of the cream cheese mixture. Dip your finger in a bit of water and rub that along the edge of the circle, to help seal the hand pies. Fold the crust over and seal the pies however you prefer. I did a pinch and fold, but crimping the edges with a fork would work just as well.

  5. Place onto prepared cookie sheet and cut a small slice into each pie so steam can escape. Beat egg with 1 tbsp of water and brush onto each hand pie.

  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes. Enjoy

Oh yes there’s no doubt about it……………..tasty is the word…………………just one tablespoon of the mixture in each little pie – you finish one and reach for another….and another…..and – well – you get the idea!     I also say the more bacon in there the better……but that’s just me – after all I am the KING OF BACONIA!

Tee Hee!!

My work is done……I shall take a royal nap now!   See you next week……….

Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday

Standard

Friday!!  YAY!   Time to HOP with 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs.    Filling in blanks in sentences sure can tell a lot about us huh?    That’s why it’s fun – we travel around and read everyone else’s fill-ins and find out stuff that we might not have known about each other.  We thank our co-hosts for this super fun HOP!    Mom and I usually take turns doing the filling in OR sometimes share in one post.    I thought Mom and I might SHARE the filling in duties for this week.    If Mom is answering, it will be BLUE and if it’s ME it will be GREEN!

And away we go………………………..

1. My favorite outdoor activity is sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch and watching the world go by.
2. One positive aspect of social isolation is nobody is ringing our doorbell!!!!.
3. It’s fortunate that my husband and I are homebodies – life hasn’t changed much for us these last weeks.
4. I have all my favorite napping spots memorized.

Mom is right – our lives haven’t changed much since the “stay at home” has begun.    We love being at home – all of us.    My Dad still goes to the airport to fly his plane or just clean out the hangar, etc., and Mom DOES do grocery shopping once a week but everything else is status quo.    I get to go outside if I want to and pretty much WHEN I want to…………once in a while the phone rings (robo calls of course!) and we get “just checking in to see how you are” emails just as we send out our share of those.    We kinda did that ANYWAY.     Checking in with friends is what you tend to do when you’re a blogger.
We just continue being grateful that we are healthy, happy, have food and supplies, see the sun instead of rain occasionally (!), and carry on while being more careful than ever.    We pray everyone will continue to follow the guidelines and we can hope that as a reward, the virus will DIE OFF and leave everyone alone.    That won’t happen for a while yet though so PLEASE STAY SAFE.    We love you!

Don’t worry Mom – I’m keeping an eye on the front door for you!

Hugs, Teddy
