Thankful Thursday is a hop hosted by our friend Brian – we get together and tell everyone what we’ve been thankful for in the past week or so since we last got together. This week I want to thank my Mom and Dad for helping me to take care of the little “outside kitty” who seems to have adopted our front porch and in particular our heated cat house at night. In the morning I let Mom know he’s here (Dad named him Timothy) and ready for breakfast. I can see him asleep inside the heated house and when he hears me at the window by the door he comes out, stretches, and thanks my Mom who hands him a big bowl of food to eat. I’ve mentioned we call the house out there “Teddy’s B&B” and Timothy is my regular occupant. Well, we are just happy to offer him a warm bed and a meal when he needs it and while I’ve been THANKFUL for that before, I’m THANKFUL for that again today!
Also I’m thankful that Angel Sammy sent me his poem based on the photo he gave everyone last Thursday. I’m anxious to see what he wrote – are you?
Hello Poetic Friends! Let’s share!!
Did you write a poem for last week’s photo? I did…………..and if you didn’t do one this week – I’ll be giving you another photo in a little while for you to use as inspiration for next Thursday so why not join us?
Here’s the poem I gave you last week…………………..AND my poem follows:
“Tripping The Light Fantastic”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©February 26, 2020
Put on those dancing shoes
Let’s dance away the blues!
Jitterburg, tango or samba
Or we’ll join a line in a conga!
It’s my excuse to get up close
Cheek to cheek and toes to toes
But my favorite dance to do
Is up close, cheek to cheek with you!
A shorter than usual poem………………..but my Mom and Dad were talking last week about how much dancing has evolved………..Mom remembers when her older sister taught her how to Jitterbug to Elvis records. Mom also remembers the first time her Dad tried to teach her how to “slow dance”……..and how she never QUITE got the hang of letting the guy lead! She danced with my Dad at their wedding and didn’t trip him AND she danced with her Dad too and didn’t trip him so I guess she finally got the hang of it.
Did you write a poem? Good – let us know in comments and give us your link OR write your poem IN the comments – we can read it there too! I’ve also found a great photo for all of us to use for NEXT week’s poetry get-together…………..here it is:
Oh my……….attics full of forgotten treasures………………there HAVE to be some good poems for this one right?
You have a whole week to come up with one to share with us next Thursday……………..are you up for the challenge? I know you are! GO FOR IT!
Love Forever and Ever, Angel Sammy
Angel Sammy you are my favorite poet…………of course you’re my big brother too so maybe I’m a little biased?????? Anyway, I’ll look forward to seeing you next week……….and always.
