Happy Thursday – it’s time for us to be THANKFUL on the Hop hosted by Brian. If you’d like to Hop with us, click on his badge and link up. We love to share our THANKFULS!
I’m super thankful that I received so many sweet messages from friends in honor of my THIRD GOTCHA DAY yesterday. Mom and Dad spoiled me more than the usual “spoil” and I thought all day long about how thankful I was that I lived with them and am safe and loved. That’s the BEST thankful of all. I received this card from my friends at The Cat On My Head……I love it! Thanks to the Kitties Blue………….
AND – I got a card from my friends at Friends Furever which is also very sweet………………thanks to all my friends for their messages to celebrate my Third Gotcha!
Angel Sammy didn’t let me down either – he sent me his Poetry for this week right on time. Ready?
♥♥♥
It’s Poetry Time Friends!
Hello! Can you believe it’s been a week since we got together to share poetry? Time flies. We don’t have “time” like you do up at the Rainbow Bridge……………we just enjoy ourselves any way we please AND keep an eye on our loved ones here on this plane. Yesterday I spent the day watching over my little brother Teddy as he celebrated his third GOTCHA DAY. I know that HE knows I arranged for Mom and Dad to go to the shelter that day and adopt him. It helped heal the holes in their hearts when I went to the Bridge.
Anyway, let’s get on with poetry shall we? As you know I give you an inspirational photo each week and you have that week in which to write a poem based on the photo. Here’s the photo I gave you last Thursday followed by MY humble poetry!
“Lost in Lost Springs”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©February 13, 2020
The map I have got me just this far
It’s a very old map I found in this rental car
The highway signs disappeared a while ago
I must be on the wrong road so I’m going slow
I wonder if anyone lives in that old house now?
It’s been several miles since I saw a human or a cow!
Is that old house there where the ONE resident lives?
This is like the Twilight Zone – hey – what gives?
I need to get back to the highway and be on my way
And save exploring Lost Springs for another day!
I see a storm brewing up ahead so I’ll turn right around.
I don’t think I’ll be missing much in Lost Springs town………….
Something about this photo struck me as so totally strange……..is the sign a joke? Well turns out there IS a Lost Springs and I saw two different signs when I researched online – one said “Population One” and the other said “Population Two”……..whichever is correct I will don’t think there’s much to SEE or DO there so I won’t be visiting for real that’s for sure.
Did you write a poem? Let us know in comments so we can read yours. Did you think this was a bit of a spooky photo or did you just think that once upon a time that sign probably displayed a MUCH higher number of people living in Lost Springs?
Here’s the photo I found for us to use for NEXT Thursday…………………
I really like this photo…………………I bet that old truck has a story to tell!
Have fun with this one and let’s get together next Thursday – same time – same place…………..same good time sharing poetry. Meanwhile, take care of yourselves and remember the Angels are watching……………

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
Love and Hugs, Angel Sammy

Love from Angel Sammy and Teddy…………..
oh yes… better to drive home and discover that place another day…otherwise it could be that you land in da rocky horror picture show LOL

HAHA! If ever there was reason to turn around – finding a sign like this is definitely IT ! Loved your poem too boys – GOOD JOB!

Looking at that old house it looks like the population is now zero. Who knows what might happen if you ventured inside.

I think Kitties Blue’s poem was the best – they think the “population” of one is a lone prairie dog living in that hovel! HAHAHAHA

I kind of love the little place. I am pretty sure it is a small hay barn, it has a loft door. I miss doing Barn Charm on the blog but the person that was hosting it quit blogging. I like your poem, Angel Sammy! I’d turn around and head for cover with those rumbly looking clouds too. I’m thinking there was maybe two in Lost Springs… I’d love to know the story. Maybe the sign is photoshopped?

When we were looking for photos (just helping our Angel Sammy of course!) we saw several versions of this sign – some where people were posing by the sign – the sign looked real but the background appeared to be different. Thanks for telling us it was a small hay barn. I bet there’s more animals in there than anyone knows. What a great spot to hide out that would be!!!!!

I’m not sure about it being a hay barn but it does have a loft door. One thing it has for sure is a hole in the roof!!! I will google Lost Springs.

It’s in Wyoming………..and I bet at one point there were more people living there than the lone soul who does now……and who the heck would that ONE be? I bet Angel Sammy could have written a poem about that one person and it would have been a goodie!!!!

Oh yes do I agree that is a strange and Twilight Zone type photo. I can almost hear Rod Sterling’s opening. One thing I know for sure I bet they don’t have a Panera so no need for me to stop

That picture was so evoking I saved it..the one of Lost Springs. I thought for sure that I would try writing something, but it slipped my mind, and now at comment time, nothing came to mind to write for the picture. Too early in the morning and I am not creative yet. Love the truck picture too. Those are the type of things that usually set my mind to whirling with stories.I think if I do write something later today, I will just send it to your Ma, Teddy.

That’s fine! If you want to write something about the photos and send to Mom she’d be happy to read them. Angel Sammy and Mom try to find interesting photos for Thursdays – I think they do a pretty swell job and I love that old truck….I wish it was in my back yard – I bet it would be a great spot for a nap!

Another great poem, Angel Sammy! And, Teddy, I know you were quite the “spoiled cat” yesterday! Good for you; I’m so happy your parents found your sweet self to bring home when they visited the shelter that day (arranged by Angel Sammy!).
Here’s my poem for this week, and looking forward to writing one for that sweet old truck picture!

Thanks for playing along with us every week Miss Dianna – we loved your poem this week – it’s so much fun isn’t it. We figured you would love that old truck photo. It’s quite a “character” isn’t it!!

This week’s picture did have a bit of a twilight zone feel, but i went a different way with my poem.
The best sign of this type i ever saw in person was over 40 years ago, it said, “Welcome to Nickel Holler, Population 7 (counting one coon dog).”

HA! Love that sign you saw…..I’m glad they gave the coon dog special mention. LOL We really loved your poem this week – it’s nice to see how many different THINGS/FEELINGS the photos bring to everyone when they write their poetry. That’s what makes this kind of thing so much fun – poems from photos shows we all have different creative genes at work!

Teddy, we’re so sorry we missed your Gotcha Day. Shame on us. We hope it was wonderful! We bet your mom and dad made sure it was. Angel Sammy, the photo and your poem remind me of the area where my parents grew up and where I visit sometimes. I have family in some very rural areas, and we often pass through tiny towns with signs indicating incredibly small populations. I’ve never lived anywhere that small, but I often wonder what it would be like. Purrs!
