It’s ME!! Your King!! Cookin’ up something with bacon so grab your pencils…..
BACON CHEESEBURGER UPSIDE DOWN PIZZA
I cannot tell a lie – this recipe is a very popular one and you can find LOTS of recipes how to make this but this one is the one we tried out and it was GOOOOOOOD!
8 slices bacon
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion – chopped
1 green bell pepper – chopped
1-1/2 cups pizza sauce (or spaghetti sauce)
3 roma (plum) tomatoes – chopped
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees (200 degrees C)
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high eat until evenly brown and drain. Crumble and set aside two slices then crumble the remaining six slices.
In a large saucepan over medium high heat, saute your beef, onion and bell pepper until the beef is browned. Drain and stir in the six slices of crumbled bacon and your pizza sauce. Spoon mixture into an ungreased 9×13 inch pan. Sprinkle with tomatoes and top with the cheese.
In a medium bowl, beat eggs slightly. Mix in milk and oil then add flour and salt. Beat for two minutes at medium speed. Pour evenly over the meat mixture. Sprinkle the top with the remaining two crumbled slices of bacon!
Bake in a preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until top is lightly puffed and deep, golden brown.
Actually an easy recipe don’t you think?
Like I said – if this recipe doesn’t grab you there are lots of variations out there. But this isn’t a complicated recipe – you could still add other “stuff” if you want to……..mushrooms might be good, or if you can’t eat bacon it’s just as good without bacon (but of course since I’m the King of Bacon we have bacon in our meals whenever possible).
Good because we just might need saving so keep your bacon handy everyone!
